Top 10 Most Annoying (Troll) Characters in Video Games When it comes to playing a game, you know someone is going to ruin the fun. Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we’ll be counting down the Top 10 Most Annoying or Trollish Characters in Video Games. For this list, we’ll be looking at the multiplayer characters and playstyles that had players yelling in frustration, and breaking up friendships. If you don’t see a character on our list, be sure to check out our Top 10 Unfair Playable Characters in Video Games, and Top 10 Overpowered Multiplayer Weapons in Video Games.

#10: Longsword Users

“Monster Hunter” Series (2004-) Hunting monsters alone can be a difficult feat at times, so it helps to bring a friend or two. As a staple of the series, players are able to hunt these beasts with a plethora of weapons to choose from: swords, guns, bows, lances and many more. So when it comes to playing with someone who uses the Longsword, the experience can be lackluster. While not inherently a bad weapon, the Longsword is a poor choice in co-op as the long reach tends to hit allies, interrupting their attacks or other actions. Setting up the perfect trap or combo can be quite difficult with that huge blade smacking you in your face.

#9: Thanatos

“Smite” (2016) As the Greek God of Death, or rather the personification, Thanatos has proven to be quite deadly. With the ability to steal health and sacrifice it to deal massive damage, the god of death seems to bring his aspect to everyone but himself. With a large amount of CC and life-steal, Thanatos runs players down while sustaining himself in the process. Used by many smurf accounts, he is a God that many use to take advantage of those new to MOBAs and Smite. Easy to use, and easy to kill with, he’s the cause of some new Smite players dropping the game.

#8: Slark

“DotA 2” (2013) There’s a lot of heroes to hate in Dota 2; from the frustrating Techies, to the OP Viper and Drow Ranger, it sometimes feels like IceFrog doesn’t want to balance the game. None, however, compare to the one known as Slark. This snappy fish will not only tie you down, but he will steal your stats and convert it into damage for himself. Capable of incredible one-on-one engages, and able to escape just as fast, he’s extremely annoying to deal with. To top it off, he is able to not only turn invisible, protecting him from all sight, but heal away massive damage at the same time. Maybe we should get some Slark on the barbie.

#7: Dual Shotgun Users

“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” (2009) Balancing weapons in a shooter like Call of Duty isn’t easy, but you’d think that a developer wouldn’t put in one insanely powerful weapon, right? Enter the model 1887, a powerful shotgun on its own; but for some reason, you are able to dual wield them. Not only did they possess immense stopping power, they had fairly good range, and fantastic accuracy. We speak in the past tense as they were so frustrating, that Infinity Ward had to patch said weapons, but even then, they still proved annoying -one-shotting players with no skill required. Their legend will -for better or worse- forever be cemented in Call of Duty.

#6: Meta Knight

“Super Smash Bros.” Series (1999-) We all have that one fighting game character we can’t stand, whether it's because they require no skill, the button mashing, or certain hitbox issues; but few have come close to Meta Knight. Sure Bayonetta came close with her controversial late DLC inclusion, but Meta Knight was banned from tournaments. He has grown in reception as being one of the most unfair and annoying characters to play as in Super Smash Bros. His rapid attacks allow you to juggle your enemies, preventing many from ever recovering. Even if you can manage to hit the fast little devil, his recovery is fairly good enough that you won’t see his stock dropping often.

#5: AWP Users

“Counter-Strike” Series (1999-) Counter-Strike has come quite far from being a simple mod. While its face has changed, the game has not -keeping its classic weapons, including the AWP. Gaining infamy in the gaming world, the AWP is a bolt-action sniper rifle with immense stopping power. What makes this such an annoyance isn’t just the fact that the AWP is the only weapon able to kill a player in one hit without a headshot… but it also has bred several trolls. The AWP itself is an expensive weapon, costing at least 2 win rounds worth of money; so to see someone buy it, die with it, and even let the enemy take it, is enough to induce some serious rage.

#4: Paladin

“World of Warcraft” (2004) As the most successful and largest MMO of all time, Blizzard is still creating and balancing content for WoW. So, it only just gets annoying when you want to jump into a PvP match, and you’re up against a Paladin. Possessing stuns, taunts, heals and tankiness, playing as a Paladin feels like you have too great of an advantage. Of course, none of that wouldn’t be so bad, if they didn’t bubble -absorbing large amounts of damage and protecting themselves from CC, these holy knights feel more like abominations.

#3: Mei

“Overwatch” (2016) A friendly smile and demeanor, giant fluffy coat, and rosy cheeks, Mrs. Claus she ain’t. While Bastion may still be the goto annoyance, thanks to a certain hacker, the pedestal has been overtaken. Mei is the ice queen, possessing a short range freeze gun capable of slowing and stunning enemies, even cancelling out ults! Of course if she can’t get up close, she’ll wall off enemies, even her own team to save her ass; and if plan B fails, she can freeze herself, healing away large damage, and taking none. She’s a one snowwoman army, and she aims to freeze.

#2: Teemo

“League of Legends” (2009) How could anyone see this fluffy little Yordle as evil? Well over 7 years has shown that he can be. With the ability to turn invisible, poison his enemies, and lay invisible traps that not only slow, but also poison, this bundle of fluff is not the cutey-patootie you think he may be. Forcing your team to buy items to actually be effective against him, he’ll drain your wallet as fast as he saps your health. It wasn’t until recently, that the developers acknowledged him as the little devil he really is.

#1: Oddjob

“Goldeneye 007” (1997) There are many characters players will criticize you for playing, but none compare to Oddjob. Creating shouting matches and arguments before the game even starts, Oddjob may very well be the original multiplayer character annoyance. Where every character in Goldeneye multiplayer allows the player to auto-aim while moving, Oddjob’s shorter stature forced players to stop moving, and manually aim to get a shot in. This of course made them the perfect stationary target for Oddjob players, as they ran and danced around others with little to no effort. We may fear Oddjob’s hat in the movie, but it’s height that struck terror and rage into gamers everywhere. Do you agree with our list? What multiplayer character drove you to rage quit?
