Finally, the perfect car for a middle-aged man! Want to pretend you’re young, single, and have much to offer the world? Pop the Gadgetmobile into car-mode. Time to pick up your niece and dog? Sounds like primetime for van time! As critical to Inspector Gadget’s work as incompetent enemies and having someone else solve crimes for him; the Gadgetmobile comes fully-loaded with ejector seats, a retractable claw, and “hilarious gas.”

Disappointing more baby boomers than their adult basement-dwelling offspring is George Jetson’s daily driver. This flying saucer-inspired aerocar has everything you’d need, from its briefcase conversion, to child-friendly bomb hatches and its seatbelt-less, sliding, ultra-modern seating. Although flying cars have yet to become a reality, many online sources claim the technology is just around the corner – but you really can’t believe anything you see on the Internet. Except us.

Spotty dogs of all breeds know to run when this black and blood red roadster rolls by. Packed with the loudest horn in the land and loaded with a flame-shooting engine, the coupe could only be owned by someone as evil as Ms. De Vil. Cruella typically drives the vehicle herself and appears to have graduated from the same driver’s ed class as Mr. Burns. That’s some mighty fine reckless driving there, Cruella!

While most school buses only have the ability to stop traffic and dump you off somewhere you don’t want to be, this school cruiser can rival the TARDIS. Armed with dual shrinkerscopes for shrinking and a mesmerglober for shaping, the bus can be pretty much anything you want it to be. If you’ve ever dreamed about driving around in a frog, a jeep, a snail, a starship, or a pizza this is the ride for you. But buyer beware, you’ll still end up at school.

Speed. He is speed. Sure he might be rude, he might be obnoxious, he might even be cocky, but he’s a good guy in a Disney movie so you know he’s going to get better. Wrapped in NASCAR-approved decals and sporting the number 95, ol’ McQueen is both brave and loyal when the chips are down. While his best bud Mater has a lot going for him too – with his similar can-do attitude – it’s mostly just rust in comparison to this anthropomorphic race car!

Sure the Cheapskates are bitchin’ and the Turtle Blimp is… blimpin’, but the Turtle Van is just so… vanny. Bearing a passing resemblance to a VW Transporter, the wagon is packed to the gills with the best tech you can find just laying around. Originally belonging to baddie Baxter Stockman, the van is technically hot property. So what’s the moral? It’s okay to steal if you’re stealing from a bad guy. Turtle power!

Taking styling cues from Ferrari, the Ford GT40, and Alfa Romeo, Mach 5’s gizmo count can give both James Bond’s ride and Inspector Gadget’s Gadgetmobile a run for their money. Capable of pumping 5000 horsepower across its all-wheel-drive drive-train, the car also has night vision assist and a fully submersible “frogger mode.” Bonus options include a homing device, a bulletproof defector, and Goldfingery cutting blades. In fact, it’s only Mach 5’s tiny trunk that keeps it from being the best car… in the world.

A simpler ride from a simpler time, this bad boy was made for rolling, bowling, and drive-in movies. And it’s practical too, comfortably seating four adults and a small dinosaur. Made from only the best rocks and woods, this stylish ride also sports the finest animal skins in existence in prehistoric times. There are drawbacks however, as the car is both powered by and stopped by the user’s feet. Between that, its iffy steering and its total lack of safety equipment and creature comforts, we’d probably pass on this one if given the option.

Mask-wearing mischief-makers knew their crime-filled days were over when this flower-powered wagon rolled into town. Guaranteed not to blend in anywhere, this is the primary mode of transit for Scoobs and his mystery solving, pizza-scarfing friends. Styled after the real world Chevrolet Sportsvan, the Mystery Machine is arguably the most famous van in world. In fact, it was voted “top fictional vehicle of all time” in 2006 by toy store chain Toys R Us. Okay, sure, other cars on our list might have cool paint jobs or nifty gadgets, but this one’s also a dude. Part Kenworth and all Autobot, Optimus came to earth to kick butt and blast ions. More than just a clever disguise, Optimus’ trailer doubles as a battle command headquarters, complete with weaponry and comm-stations – now that’s handy. Although the VW Beetle-based Bumblebee is also a strong contender, there’s just something about the red, blue, and complex leader of the Autobots that grabs our attention. Do you agree with our list?
