For this list, we’ll be looking at the most hilarious, awkward and cringe-worthy kissing scenes from our favorite movies. There’s a bit of a spoiler alert in effect!

#10: All in the Family “We’re the Millers” (2013)

In “We're the Millers,” David Clark is a pot dealer who needs a front in order to drive drugs over the border to Mexico. So he hires people to pretend to be his family members to make it seem like a run of the mill vacation. In one scene, his fake son reveals that he’s never kissed a girl before, so his fake sister decides to give him a quick lesson. Then his fake mom joins in on the teachable moment as well. As if all this faux incest isn’t awkward enough, the girl he likes walks in on them all in the midst of it.

#9: Drunken Kiss “Superbad” (2007)

There are countless funny scenes in the 2007 movie “Superbad”, and one of them takes place when Evan finds himself alone in a bedroom with his crush Becca. Both teens are absolutely wasted, and start kissing sloppily after Becca does a striptease of sorts which is made much more comical than sensual, based on her level of inebriation. Luckily, Evan is a good guy and decides to not take things further with her because he realizes that it’s not the right thing to do based on how drunk she is.

#8: Childhood Trauma “Blades of Glory” (2007)

In one of her funniest roles outside of “The Office”, Jenna Fischer plays Katie Van Waldenberg in “Blades of Glory”, and finds herself falling for skater Jimmy MacElroy, played by Jon Heder. In this scene, the Katie reveals why she finds skating and ice to be stupid, and the two go back and forth, sharing traumatic and sometimes hilarious stories from their childhoods. When it gets extremely dark, Jimmy leans in to kiss Katie despite it being the least romantic moment ever — which is what makes this scene so amazing.

#7: Revenge on Stage “She's Funny That Way” (2014)

Also in:

Top 10 Teen Movie References in Do Revenge

This quirky screwball comedy is set in the world of theater. Owen Wilson plays Arnold Albertson, a director with a proclivity for hiring call girls and trying to turn them into stars...despite the fact that he’s married. His wife Delta is obviously displeased by this situation and gets back at him by dramatically kissing a fellow actor during a reading who she knows has feelings for her. The kiss goes on for so long that the audience in the theater (as well as the audience at home) has plenty of time to get super uncomfortable.

#6: First Kiss “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” (2013)

Also in:

Top 10 Best Kisses in Movie Musicals

When you’re young, first kisses are always awkward. Both parties are usually inexperienced, and nerves high. That situation gets even worse when your first kiss takes place long into adulthood. In “Anchorman 2”, which of course isn’t quite as funny as the original, there are still lots of great moments and this is one of them. Brick Tamland falls for Chani, a GNN office worker, and the two have a hilariously candid conversation about how they’ve never kissed a real person before. When the two actually kiss, it’s as delightfully weird as you’d expect.

#5: Multiple Infractions “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” (2005)

Also in:

Top 10 Movies Told Through Multiple Perspectives

Of course, the “Anchorman” series isn’t the only property in which Steve Carell plays a sexually inexperienced adult. He does so even more famously in the Judd Apatow flick “The 40-Year Old Virgin”. Getting into the car with a drunk driver is always a horrible choice, which Andy learns the hard way. Not only does Nicky drive recklessly and hit several cars, she also tries to make out with Andy while she’s still controlling the wheel. It’s not exactly a pleasant experience for him, especially since it all ends with him getting puked on.

#4: Dream Kiss “Dumb and Dumber” (1994)

Also in:

Top 10 Movie Dream Sequences

It doesn’t get much stupider than this. “Dumb and Dumber”, starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, is an unabashed gross-out comedy. Lloyd is working as a limo driver when he meets Mary, a wealthy woman who he instantly falls in love with. He later indulges in an elaborate fantasy about her while he’s driving and imagines a dramatic fireside kiss between them. The thing is though, his dream kiss is pretty darn disgusting. It looks more like he’s trying to eat her than kiss her, though because this is his fantasy, she doesn’t even seem upset.

#3: Avatar Kiss “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” (2017)

Also in:

Top 10 Avatar Sequel Movie Facts

In the rebooted “Jumanji” movies, the players of the game find themselves stuck as avatars who look nothing like them. That’s part of what makes this scene so incredible. The nerdy Spencer has an avatar played by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, so when he awkwardly professes his love to his crush Martha, it’s already hilarious to see his lack of confidence. Luckily she returns his feelings, and the two share what turns out to be both of their first kisses. It’s about as hilariously awful as first kisses get, but somehow sweet at the same time.

#2: Fat Amy & Bumper Belong Together “Pitch Perfect 2” (2015)

Also in:

Top 20 Worst Movie Kisses EVER

In the first “Pitch Perfect” movie, Fat Amy and Bumper flirt, but in the second one we actually get to see them get together. There’s trouble in paradise though because while Bumper wants to settle down, Amy wants to retain her freedom. She has a change of heart eventually though and in a grand gesture sings Pat Benatar’s “We Belong” to him while paddling across the lake. He eventually joins in and the two dramatically embrace- while still taking a break to belt out lyrics. When they start making out, everyone is forced to clear away to give them some privacy. Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions. Best Friends Forever “Valentine’s Day” (2010) Burger Breath “Wet Hot American Summer” (2001) Tongue Tangle “Scary Movie” (2000) Track & Field Tackle “To All The Boys I've Loved Before” (2018) Minty Fresh “Just Friends” (2005)

#1: Faux Romance “The Proposal” (2009)

In “The Proposal”, Margaret is a high-powered publishing industry editor and Andrew is her lowly assistant, whom she treats terribly. She needs his help, though, when she finds out she’s about to be deported because she went against the terms of her work visa. The two make an agreement to embark on a fake relationship so that she can stay in the country. When he takes her home to Alaska to meet his family however, the pressure is on to make their love look real. They’re forced to have their first kiss in front of a crowd, and let’s just say they are not feeling the love… at first.
