VOICE OVER: Rebecca Brayton WRITTEN BY: Cassondra Feltus
These Ryan Gosling moments will have you in stitches. For this list, we'll be looking at the best interviews with the Canadian actor that had us cracking up. Our countdown of the funniest Ryan Gosling interview moments includes Sporting Jumpin Jammerz with Ellen DeGeneres, Uncontrollable Laughter with Harrison Ford, Puppy Interview with Margot Robbie, and more!

#10: Sporting Jumpin Jammerz with Ellen DeGeneres

Ryan Gosling values his privacy. He largely remains tight-lipped about his personal life, even managing to avoid answering some of Ellen DeGeneres’ notoriously probing questions. In 2011, Gosling stopped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to talk about his indie romance drama “Blue Valentine.” He was asked about a possible off-screen relationship with co-star Michelle Williams, but luckily, there was plenty to distract from the awkward inquiry, namely the constant peddling on the exercise bikes supplied by DeGeneres. But the best, funniest part of the segment comes when Gosling changes into Jumpin Jammerz, the new “wildly comfortable” addition to his wardrobe. He’s just so passionate about the onesies! He even gifted the audience with their own onesies, probably hoping to ignite a Jumpin Jammerz movement.

#9: Cellophane Salesman

One of our favorite things about Ryan Gosling is that he’s a hilarious storyteller with fantastic comedic timing. In this red couch interview with Graham Norton, the actor shared possibly one of the oddest tales from his youth. After mysteriously obtaining a massive supply of cellophane, his parents encouraged him to start a little side hustle selling it at school. It doesn’t sound like the kid was too successful hawking the cling wrap, but it sure made for a comical story. Gosling wisely left sales behind and pursued a career as a performer which we think was clearly the right decision.

#8: Incorrectly Describing Spy Gadgets

In the 2022 action-thriller “The Gray Man,” Ryan Gosling played a CIA agent/assassin on the run. While doing press for Netflix, the streaming platform decided to quiz the actor on his ability to identify old school spy tools. But rather than blindly guess the name and function of each item in a serious manner, he made up his own details and demonstrated his knowledge of, um, herbology. Believe it or not, Gosling informs us that they all have a green-related purpose or link. His commitment to the gag is impressive and hilarious, as is his talent for coming up with these false details and delivering them with such confidence. Maybe he was a history teacher in another life.

#7: Uncontrollable Laughter with Harrison Ford

While promoting “Blade Runner 2049,” stars Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford traveled across the pond and sat down with Alison Hammond for ITV’s “This Morning.” The British host is known for her fun, informal interviews with big name celebs. But this chat quickly descends into the best kind of chaos as the trio partake in some day drinking. We love to see the actors practically laughing themselves to tears. Gosling is always effortlessly witty and chill, so we’re not surprised he’s having a blast. But over the years, Ford has earned a reputation for not always being the happiest interviewee, so seeing him express genuine glee is such a treat. This is a video we have on repeat because their laughter is absolutely infectious.

#6: British & Canadian “Snack Wars”

With all of his serious acting roles, we love to see a relaxed Ryan Gosling, and his appearance on LADbible’s “Snack Wars” series couldn’t be more chill. The Ontario native was tasked with trying Canadian and British snacks, comparing the tastes, and choosing a winner for each round. Having learned the hard way that the internet loves a meme, Gosling uses his jacket to hide his face for every bite. Technically though, this very funny Dracula move is rather GIF-worthy. The charmer chatted and joked with the crew the whole time, giving us serious FOMO. As always, Gosling had everyone chuckling at his thoughtful yet offbeat comments about the array of treats – and let’s not forget his destructive method of eating tea cakes.

#5: Getting Someone from the Audience

During one of his visits to “Conan,” Ryan Gosling shakes things up. After he briefly recalls his past experience as an audience member on an unnamed talk show, he proposes inviting a lucky fan to have a moment in the spotlight. The actor brings someone named Linda on stage to take his seat, and shares some sassy talking tips to spark a playfully antagonistic exchange between her and Conan. Of course, this draws many laughs from the audience – and us. Ever the lovable goofball, Gosling does this entertaining bit not to embarrass the guest but to give her a memorable experience. We’d say having Ryan Gosling whisper hilarious insults and one-liners into her ear is something that Linda will remember for a long time.

#4: Tales from His Dance Troupe Days

If there’s one thing everyone knows about Ryan Gosling, it’s that he was on “The Mickey Mouse Club” in the 1990s, along with other future stars like Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears. So he knew how to groove as a kid. Graham Norton made sure we all saw this first hand when he surprised the former mouseketeer with an old video of him in a dance troupe. Sitting next to his “La La Land” co-star Emma Stone, Gosling talked about his time with Elite Dance Studio. Norton then played the hysterical video of little Gosling in a shiny purple top and silver hammer pants showing off his serious moves. We can’t help but giggle as he cringes at his younger self. It’s perfect.

#3: A Very Hairy Conversation

Talk show interviews can feel awkward and performative for some celebrities who don’t like to talk about themselves. And while he may not consider himself interesting, we’d argue that Ryan Gosling is in his element when being interviewed. In 2011, the masterful raconteur stopped by “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” with his buddy George. He hoped the mohawked pooch would make for a more amusing topic than himself. But then Gosling recalled a harrowing visit to a Turkish bath that was not what he anticipated. The whole ordeal sounds uncomfortable in more ways than one, particularly the belly invasion. But at least it made for a super amusing story!

#2: Puppy Interview with Margot Robbie

It’s safe to say that the “Barbie” press tour of summer 2023 has given us many iconic moments. One of the best was the BuzzFeed Puppy Interview with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. Naturally, the two were easily distracted by the puppy pandemonium. But the Ken actor soon directed his attention to breaking up the many fights between the pups, trying to act as a mediator. The interview also revealed some important information about Gosling, including his love of “90 Day Fiancé” and – seemingly – a knowledge of Joker memes. But it’s hearing him continuously refer to the brawling puppies as “bro” and “my dude” that will forever live in our heads rent-free, making us cackle every time we remember it.

#1: Responding to Ken Critics

The “Barbie” movie, specifically Ryan Gosling’s role as Ken, introduced a new word into the lexicon. Indeed, Gosling has been radiating Kenergy at every occasion. It became clear to hosts and audiences alike that Gosling was fully dedicated to embodying Ken in Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie”. But after a photo of him in costume went viral, the Internet unfortunately began debating whether the star was fit to be Ken. In his signature dry humor, the actor addressed the backlash on “The Tonight Show,” calling out the faux outrage and making us giggle in the process. He won’t stand for hypocrisy, because he’s established himself as the historically ignored character’s biggest hype man. We love to see it.
