Pixar has given us some truly heartwarming scenes, but has also provided countless laugh-out-loud moments. Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we’re counting down our picks for the top 10 hilarious Pixar movie moments.  For this list, we are looking at the funniest moments within Pixar’s feature films starting from “Toy Story” to “Inside Out”.

#10: Disgust and Anger Dealing with Broccoli “Inside Out” (2015)

Sure, it’s a powerful antioxidant and can help prevent cancer, but try telling that to a two-year-old. In this hilarious clip, Riley, like so many other children, refuses to eat broccoli. We discover, however, that this decision is made by her emotion Disgust, voiced perfectly by Mindy Kaling. After Riley’s father threatens to withhold dessert, we get to meet another one of Riley’s emotions – Anger – and boy, is he furious. Luckily, Riley’s dad pulls out the classic “imaginary airplane” gag that pleases everyone and gets us all giggling like toddlers.

#9: Tour Guide Barbie “Toy Story 2” (1999)

Star Wars: Identities Museum Exhibition Tour

Part of what makes Pixar so great are the movie in-jokes that may fly over the heads of children, but that will certainly mean a little something more to the adults in the audience. As Barbie gives Mr. Potato Head, Slinky, and Rex a tour of Al’s Toy Barn, they drive down the Buzz Lightyear aisle. She then points out that back in 1995, there weren’t enough dolls to meet customer demand. Of course, this is a reference to real life when there weren’t enough Buzz toys after the release of the first film. This scene also features a hilarious reference to Jurassic Park, with Barbie maintaining the perfect tour guide voice all the while.

#8: Where’s My Super Suit? “The Incredibles” (2004)

Top 10 Funniest Pixar Moments Of All Time

One thing we’ve noticed about superhero films is that the heroes always seem to have access to their costumes the second they need them. As the Omnidroid rampages through Metroville, Frozone, voiced flawlessly by Samuel L. Jackson, can’t find his super suit. He soon discovers that his wife hid it because they have a dinner date planned. A hilarious argument ensues as helicopters are destroyed outside the window. This scene is one of the most memorable moments in one of the best Pixar films ever created, and really supports the expression “happy wife, happy life”.

#7: Dory’s Whale Talking “Finding Nemo” (2003)

“Finding Nemo” is full of funny scenes, like when Marlin and Dory receive help from the sea turtle Crush and his gnarly son Squirt, but it’s Dory’s whale talking that takes the cake. This scene proves that it’s possible for a voice actor, in this case Ellen DeGeneres, to completely take over a film. In another of Pixar’s finestmoments, Dory attempts to communicate with the whale and Marlin becomes more and more frustrated, all while the whale approaches in the background. Who knew that whales had different dialects?

#6: Crushed by Shopping Carts “WALL-E” (2008)

Ah, robot love. After nearly being obliterated by EVE, WALL-E develops an infatuation with the robot. With Louis Armstrong’s beautiful “La Vie En Rose” playing in the background, WALL-E tracks down EVE, and makes an absolute fool of himself as he attempts to hide… only to accidentally crash into a ton of shopping carts, which proceed to chase after and crush him. This scene doesn’t only elicit laughter from us; it’s also heart-warming, and completely relatable to all the people who have made fools of themselves trying to impress someone they like.

#5: Heimlich Turns into a Butterfly “A Bug’s Life” (1998)

Sometimes forgotten because of its release between the two “Toy Story” films, “A Bug’s Life” is full of moments that will get you chuckling.  The scene we’ve chosen is when Heimlich turns into a butterfly. That choice isn’t too surprising considering that the gluttonous caterpillar with a thick German accent is one of the funniest characters in the film. At the end of flick, we are led to believe that his dream of becoming a butterfly has finally come true when he bursts out of his cocoon, only to realize that he is basically the same caterpillar he was before but just with two tiny wings. This doesn’t damper his spirits, however, as he amusingly believes he can fly – which he does, with a little help!

#4: Boo’s ‘Death’ “Monsters, Inc.” (2001)

Top 10 Saddest Pixar Moments of All Time

One of the most endearing things about “Monsters, Inc.” is how quickly Boo and Sulley develop a relationship, and how much he ends up caring for her. Of course, this taboo friendship is also the source of several laugh-out-loud scenes, but none more so than when Sulley thinks Boo has been killed and turned into a cube of garbage. The big blue monster looks absolutely horrified and faints several times as he watches Boo get sliced to pieces - or so he thinks. The audience knows that she escaped, however, which makes this scene hilarious rather than horrifying.

#3: Buzz Thinks He’s Choking “Toy Story” (1995)

Also in:

Top 10 Most Hilarious Buzz Lightyear Moments

One of the most iconic characters in all of film, Buzz Lightyear has had several memorable moments throughout the franchise, like when he gets switched to Spanish mode in “Toy Story 3”. For this entry, however, we are going back to the first film. Woody, growing more and more frustrated with Buzz, confronts the spaceman, and opens his helmet to prove his point. Buzz immediately thinks he is choking and drops to his knees as an annoyed Woody looks on. The two continue arguing until Woody gets him with the classic “look over there” gag.

#2: À la Mode “The Incredibles” (2004)

Top 10 Unscripted Moments That Were Kept in Pixar Movies

Though you could almost make a list with every scene featuring Edna Mode, the costume designer for Mr. Incredible and his family, we are going to choose her first appearance in the film, in which she rants about capes. Voiced perfectly by director Brad Bird, Mode steals the show whenever she is on screen. As she designs a new costume for Mr. Incredible, she begins ranting about the problems of the sleeveless outer garments and how they have caused the deaths of many heroes in the past. We can’t help but wonder what Superman or Batman would have to say about that… darling. Before we unveil our number one pick, here are a few honorable mentions: ‘Put That Thing Back Where It Came From!’ Musical “Monsters, Inc.” (2001) Linguini ‘Puppet’ “Ratatouille” (2007) Three Brothers “Brave” (2012)

#1: Squirrel “Up” (2009)

Have you ever wondered what your dog would say if it could talk? “Up” answers that question, with its introduction of special collars that allow dogs to speak. When Carl and Russell first meet Dug, they are stunned when the Golden Retriever begins talking to them – in English – however, it’s when Dug's squirrel sense tingles and he immediately freezes bug-eyed, before picking up right where he left off, that we truly can’t forget. Anyone who has ever owned a dog knows how true this scene can be, as a squirrel really is enough to completely distract a dog from whatever it was it was doing - and that is precisely what makes this one of the amusing and charming scenes in the entire Pixar canon. Do you agree with our list? What do you think is the funniest Pixar moment? For more great Top 10s published daily, be sure to subscribe to WatchMojo.com.
