VOICE OVER: Emily Brayton WRITTEN BY: Isabelle Brown
"Bluey" ranges from soothing to unhinged. For this list, we'll be looking at moments when the children's show went absolutely bonkers. Our countdown includes medical pickles, hotle game, horse wedding, and more!

#10: Grouchy Granny Muffin Barters with a Real Grouchy Granny
“Granny Mobile”

The next time we have a garage sale, we’re asking for Muffin’s help. While playing a game of “Grannies” with her cousins, she really commits to her grouchy character and ends up selling a scooter for real. The Old Pug meets her match in the little White Heeler, whose bartering skills are surprisingly good. Both dogs have chaotic energy despite their small size and respective ages. Seeing them go head to head is wild. The other adults just end up watching, looking stunned. It seems that in order to take on a grouchy granny, you need to embody a grouchy granny.

#9: Medical Pickles
“The Doctor”

While playing a game, Bluey’s friends come up with the most bizarre injuries and ailments. Lucky, Snickers, Indy and Coco request Doctor Heeler’s help with their medical pickles, having suffered everything from animal attacks to random loss of limbs. Rusty’s malady is definitely the most ridiculous, and causes chaos in the waiting room. He feigns burping up baby hippos by releasing wind up toys, wreaking havoc. It takes the imagination of a child to dream that up. To be fair, Doctor Heeler’s treatments are also pretty wacky, involving strange tools, questionable bandaging, and long recovery times.

#8: Muffin Driving
“Pizza Girls”

Muffin plus a small electric convertible equals mayhem. When Bluey and Bingo’s cousin brings her new toy over to play, it puts their older pedal car to shame. The three girls go for a wild ride together around the house, during which Muffin demonstrates her need for speed. She’s actually really good at drifting, which shouldn’t surprise us. With her skills, she rivals characters from the “Fast and Furious” franchise. Like any new car owner, Muffin is very protective of her little vehicle. While she may be a menace behind the wheel, she likes to keep the interior clean. One thing’s for sure, you won’t catch us tracking mud into the car.

#7: Hotel Game

No offense to Bluey and Bingo, but a stay at their hotel seems miserable. Typically, when we rent a room, we don’t want a kid on the toilet or a lady in the shower, but those seem to be standard features when lodging with the Heelers. The TV only has one channel, and the bedding is crazy. Nothing compares, though, to the disruptive housekeeping and cooking staff. Bingo disturbs Bandit in his room, coming in to clean and later to cook. She really lets loose, causing as much of a ruckus as she can before being dragged out. While we would hate to be intruded on while sleeping like that, we’re not mad at the idea of a late night snack.

#6: Check Up with Doctor Heeler
“Hospital”

Bandit is in for a rough visit when he agrees to be the patient during a medical themed game with his daughters. Although Nurse Bingo is excellent, Doctor Bluey has a terrible bedside manner and springs injections on her patient without warning. Her energy is chaotic from the start, but things get really weird when it's discovered that there’s a live cat in Bandit’s belly. The doctor and nurse’s dramatic first attempt to remove the feline fails horribly. Although they are able to lure out the cat eventually, the medical procedures simulated during the episode leave us thinking, “What did we just watch?”

#5: Horse Wedding
“Horsey Ride”

A game of “Horsey Ride” turns into an attempt to distract Socks when she gets a hold of Bluey’s special toy. Bluey, Bingo, and Muffin plan a horse wedding. To the dads’ dismay, they’re cast as the happy couple Sparkles and Gallahop. Although they tolerate being styled by their daughters and crawling around on their paws and knees, the ceremony itself is too much for Stripe. Bandit enjoys teasing his little brother, who eventually flees back down the aisle. The runaway horse bride causes a scene that we will never be able to unsee. At least it succeeds in getting Socks’s attention!

#4: A Family of Animals

Top 10 Bluey Moments That Made Us Laugh Uncontrollably

A family of anthropomorphic dogs pretending to be other, naturalized animals is a weird concept. And yet, that’s exactly what happens when Bluey is given a magic asparagus stalk. The young pup cast spells on her mom, dad, and sister, transforming them into various species. In true “Bluey” fashion, the Heelers commit to the bit so strongly you would almost believe they’d been transfigured. Things get really wild when parrot Bingo eats the vegetable, potentially condemning all three dogs to live the rest of their lives as dehumanized creatures. It’s a moment that’s almost uncanny.

Whenever Rita and Janet show up, you know things are gonna get out of hand. Their pretend bus ride in season two nearly ends in a collision with a custard factory and leaves a couple of sheep casualties. That being said, the pairs’ first appearance in season one perfectly demonstrates just how unhinged they are. During the episode, the grannies cause trouble in the kitchen and the bathroom, not to mention from behind the wheel of a toy car. They get away with a lot, thanks to Rita’s poor hearing and Janet’s sudden nana naps. A chaotic phone call with Nana Chris to find out if Grannies floss puts the episode over the top.

#2: Unicorse’s Favorite Food
“Unicorse”

The unicorn hand puppet controlled by Bandit is unapologetically annoying and rude. With an impolite catchphrase and a bad attitude, he’s difficult to ignore. He serves as a huge distraction for Chilli and Bluey, who are trying to read before bed, and even spoils the ending of their story. We find Unicorse particularly unsettling after he’s asked about his food preferences. His initial, deadpan answer is supposed to be a joke, but we’re not exactly sure. Frankly, we wouldn’t put it past the unhinged puppet to have a cursed palate.

Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.

#1: Sleep Deprived Muffin
“The Sleepover”

Even fully rested, Muffin is a handful. When she shows up for a sleepover at her cousins’ house after missing a nap, her manic energy is cranked up many notches. The sleep deprived toddler is nonsensical and delirious, not to mention, loud, and runs Bluey and Bingo’s restaurant game completely off the rails. She causes mayhem at the table, steals chips from the chip stand, and hijacks a police car. Bluey and Bingo stay committed to their characters throughout, and the latter’s performance as a mustached husband cracks us up! A collision in the backyard brings their game to a dramatic conclusion.
