#10: Yoshi and the Hundred Lives “Super Mario 64” (1996)

Also in:

Every Yoshi Game Ranked

Sometimes a simple tribute can be enough – though this is a bit more. Collecting all 120 stars in the 3D platforming game “Super Mario 64” is quite a feat, which the game recognizes. Upon collecting the final star, players are given access to the roof of Princess Peach's Castle, where they come upon a wondrous sight: the beloved dinosaur creature Yoshi. It's a brief moment, as Yoshi reunites with Mario before leaving behind a gift of 100 lives and an enhanced version of Mario’s triple jump with added sparkles.

#9: Best Ending “Painkiller” (2004)

Also in:

Worst Video Game Ending EVER: Mass Effect 3

In the wake of an intense journey, this is a fitting end. Throughout developer People Can Fly's first-person shooter “Painkiller”, we play as Daniel, a man trapped in Purgatory until he can prevent Heaven and Hell from going to war... by killing countless demons. Should you beat the game on the highest difficulty, though, Daniel's quest pays off. He is allowed into Heaven and permitted to reunite with his wife, in a sequence that is as visually fascinating as it is cathartic. We tip our hat to you, People Can Fly.

#8: Bureau Uniform “Red Dead Redemption” (2010)

Though simple, this costume is a nice end-game bonus. By achieving 100% Completion in the open-world game “Red Dead Redemption”, players are rewarded with the Bureau Uniform for Jack Marston to wear. Said outfit, a suit commonly associated with government agents, grants Marston freedom from the law; regardless of his bounty or wanted level, Jack will not be pursued by lawmen while wearing the Uniform. Thus, seeing how far this immunity stretches by pushing Jack's luck makes for quite the enjoyable post-story experience. And it's a fine looking suit, too.

#7: Super Minifigure “LEGO City Undercover” (2013)

Also in:

The Worst Game of 2018: Super Seducer

Life in Lego City can't be easy, but this at least makes it a bit more fun. Should you manage to complete “LEGO City Undercover” 100%, a special Red Brick modifier becomes available for use, free of charge. This item's effect is straight-forward enough: it significantly increases the size of your given character at the moment. Yet it's no less entertaining, largely because of the joy that comes from towering over all other Minifigures in the game. Fear the player, for they are mighty.

#6: Play as Richter “Castlevania: Symphony of the Night” (1997)

Top 10 Video Game Remasters You NEED to Play

Though much of this cult classic PlayStation title is focused on the exploits of the half-vampire Alucard, the Belmont clan is not forgotten. Completing “Symphony of the Night” and then entering your name a “Richter” on the new game screen allows players to replay the game again as Richter Belmont, a key character in the story. In line with previous protagonists, Richter wields the Vampire Killer, an ancestral whip, as well as sub-weapons from the main game. As a nod to the history of the “Castlevania” franchise, it's a nice gesture.

#5: FPS Mode “Condemned 2: Bloodshot” (2008)

Also in:

Top 10 Best Horror Video Game Endings Ever

Odd though it may seem, there's something gratifying about this reward. Should you manage to beat the tense campaign of the survival-horror game “Condemned 2”, an additional difficulty setting becomes available: FPS Mode. In each mission of this new difficulty, players experience the same campaign – but with the added bonus of a gun with infinite ammo. The resulting infusion of additional action, as well as an instant defence from foes, completely changes up the gameplay format, making a second playthrough all the more satisfying.

#4: Perfect Dark Mode “Perfect Dark” (2000)

Also in:

Top 10 Video Games Perfect for the Holidays

Based on the 007 mode from “GoldenEye 007”, this gives players quite the amount of control over their experience. Beating all 17 levels in the game, including 3 secret ones, on “Perfect Agent” mode unlocks Perfect Dark Mode, which gives you the ability to modify each given level's enemy’s stats. Be it the amount of enemy health, accuracy, or the damage enemies can inflict, each can be set as high as 1000%. This mode grants players the opportunity to make their own challenges,With the most infamous being the next to impossible “Dark License to Kill” challenge, in which the stats we mentioned earlier are maxed out..

#3: James Bond Tuxedo “Metal Gear Solid” (1998)

Also in:

Top 10 Best and Worst James Bond Video Games

The first MGS game is the gift that keeps on given to those who keep playing through. There are 2 possible endings to Metal Gear Solid, one where Snake rides off with Meryl, and another with Otacon, and beating the game with either one of them will give you either unlimited ammo or a stealth suit. However if you beat the game twice and get both endings, You’ll get to play as Snake doing his best 007 impersonation throughout the game. On top of that Grey Fox will get a brand new Red and Black outfit - resulting in perhaps the closest thing we’ll ever get to James Bond fighting Deadpool.

#2: P. R. L. 412 “Resident Evil 4” (2005)

Also in:

10 Things CUT From Resident Evil 4 Remake

Though we enjoy the letter from developer Shinji Mikami in 2002's “Resident Evil”, we find this weapon to be all-the-more rewarding. Any players able to guide government agent Leon Kennedy through the challenging Professional Mode of “Resident Evil 4” – with enemies that endure and deal more damage – will unlock the P. R. L. 412. Known in full as the Plaga Removal Laser, this directed-energy weapon can harm any foe infected with Las Plagas and destroy any boss with a single direct hit. And it has limitless ammo, to boot. Before we get to our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions: The secret messages “God of War” (2005) Tony's Ladies “Scarface: The World is Yours” (2006) Black Lightsaber and Sith Stalker Armor “Star Wars: The Force Unleashed” (2008) Music Video for Dimitri “Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves” (2005) Queen's Sword “Shadow of the Colossus” (2005) Punching the Riddler in the face “Batman: Arkham City” (2011)

#1: Hand Cannon “Dead Space 2” (2011)

Also in:

Top 10 Games That Don’t Hold Your Hand

In space, no one can hear you fire a giant foam finger... probably. Indeed, for those gamers able to guide engineer-turned-survivor Isaac Clarke through the dangers of Hard Core Mode, the reward was the Hand Cannon – a large red foam hand. Yet this ends up being among the most lethal of weapons; one “Bang Bang” or “Pew Pew Pew” from the Hand Cannon is enough to pop off a Necromorph's limbs. Intended more for entertainment than serious gameplay, it's an amusing bonus atop a remarkably intense experience. Do you agree with our list? What Completion bonuses did you push for weeks to get? And how much did your beard grow while that happened? For more rewarding top 10s published daily, be sure to subscribe to WatchMojo.com.
