Hopefully you didn't run into any of these. Welcome to WatchMojo and today we'll be counting down our picks for the top 10 2019 video game glitches. For this list, we're looking at the most memorable bugs discovered in 2019, there are a few games on here from 2018, but the glitches in question were found this year.

#10: Caught in His Web “Marvel’s Spider-Man” (2018)

Lots of superheroes have enhanced strength and agility to some degree. What’s always set Spider-Man apart from the rest have been his webs – and his sense of humor – making him one of comics’ most beloved characters. So it was pretty ironic, but fittingly amusing, that a glitch in Insomniac’s blockbuster title saw Peter Parker get caught in his own webs. “HOW WILL SPIDER-MAN GET OUT OF THIS ONE? … I guess he won’t tallyho onto the next entry.”

#9: Developer Room “Fallout 76” (2018)

Poor Fallout 76, how it became the biggest punching bag on the internet in 2018, and continued to be after the new year. In January 2019 players gained access to a developer room, home to all the items in the game. Accessing the dev room quickly became a bannable offense for anyone unlucky enough to be caught in the act; but for a while, a legally complicated marketplace thrived on eBay, full of people selling items from the room for real money. Matters were made worse by many of the items being overpowered and unreleased, including whole suits of power armor, and didn’t help the game’s ailing reputation.

#8: Floating “Days Gone” (2019)

Upon release, “Days Gone” was plagued with issues, the lukewarm response from players and critics being one of them. While most would agree that if you stick with it for long enough it does get better, many people encountered glitches so bad that they impeded progress much more than the slow start. One user even reported a late-game bug where items and set-pieces were floating and clipping through the world at random that corrupted their save file, though thankfully not every issue was this game-breaking. Deacon falling through the map or getting stuck floating in the air was a surprisingly common occurrence, however.

#7: Unstoppable Quarterback “Madden 20” (2019)

Ravens player Lamar Jackson is the fastest quarterback in “Madden 20”, some would even say he’s too fast, and a few have. On launch, Jackson was so fast, with a speed of 94 and agility of 95, that he was rendered nigh unstoppable from even the best defenders. If Jackson gets the ball, you can bet nobody’s going to stop him from scoring as he dodges everyone who tries to get in his way. Amusingly, this wasn’t the first time this has happened in a “Madden” game; the 2004 entry saw essentially the same glitch occur with Michael Vick. You’d think they’d learn.

#6: Phil Jones Falls Over “FIFA 20” (2019)

The latest iteration of the world’s biggest soccer video game didn’t meet with the best response from fans thanks to a variety of glitches, But while this has led to some embarrassment for EA, somebody else’s embarrassment has been providing gamers with some amusement where “FIFA 20” is concerned. Manchester United player Phil Jones, who’s often made the butt of jokes even by Man U’s own supporters, was spotted in game falling over his feet on the pitch after getting tripped up by his own teammate. Since the real-life Jones has fallen numerous times, the glitch went viral in the UK, as fans thought the game really captured his essence.

#5: Sliding Gun “Control” (2019)

Aside from struggling to run on lower-end hardware, Remedy’s latest outing has had quite a few strange clipping-related bugs. This one requires some elaborate actions to trigger, but if you’ve got a spare minute you can try opening the menu at the same time Jesse interacts with a control point. If you do this then play a video from the menu, and then quit the video, the game’s HUD will disappear. Then all you have to do is kill her, and when she respawns she’ll have shapeshifted into the Service Weapon sliding around on the floor of the FBC. Does this count as an Altered World Event?

#4: Air Guns “Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint” (2019)

If there’s one thing to expect from open world Ubisoft games, it’s that they’ll be filled with an assortment of amusing glitches. But one especially amusing problem with “Ghost Recon: Breakpoint” was that, for whatever reason, guns sometimes take so long to render than the rest of the assets in the world. This results in players trying to fight with invisible weapons, with character models still behaving like they’re holding a firearm even though it’s nowhere to be seen. Sometimes this glitch appears in conjunction with other glitches. Such as this scene where AI enemies appeared in a cutscene they clearly were not supposed to be in.

#3: Round and Round and Round and Round “WWE 2K20” (2019)

While the WWE 2K series is well known for having a few glitches for every iteration. This year may be one of the most broken releases in the series yet. We certainly didn’t have any shortage of glitches to choose from, whether its the bottom rope suddenly coming to life, Kurt Angle becoming a J-Horror monster, or Becky Lynch looking like … well whatever that is. Yet one of funniest ones to come out of this mess; was the ring turning into a bouncy castle. While the original video didn’t have sound … the internet thankfully delivered.

#2: First-Person “Gears 5” (2019)

Also in:

Top 10 Overlooked Video Game Glitches

Since the beginning, the “Gears of War” series has been the definitive over-the-shoulder shooter – a cornerstone of the genre. So you can imagine the confusion of the player who encountered this glitch that throws “Gears 5” into a first-person mode. Don’t get too excited though, people haven’t yet been able to work out how to trigger the glitch on purpose, but those who experience it have been enjoying exploring the game’s environments with a fresh perspective. Though it does have some downsides – namely that the gunplay doesn’t work, and weapons end up clipping through the screen.

#1: Crashing “Anthem” (2019)

The most troublesome AAA launch of 2019 has to belong to “Anthem”, which had so many problems it’s hard to imagine anybody being able to play the game when it was new. In fact the glitches that appeared in the game were so frequent, that we were able to give them their own separate list over on MojoPlay. Yet the most popular bug was no laughing matter, as many PS4 users reported that the game crashed, or sometimes even bricked their entire console. EA couldn’t even work out what was causing the error and had to ask for outside help to try and fix it. Get ready for a shock; Crashing the whole system happened to us when we attempted to livestream the game. But it was not on PS4 … it was on PC.
