These YouTubers know what they're doing! Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most popular and influential YouTube channels that dominated 2023. Our countdown of the best YouTube channels of 2023 includes Nick Crowley, MrBeast, Pitch Meeting, and more!

#10: Nick Crowley

If you love the chilling and mysterious, then Nick Crowley is your man. A unique content creator, Crowley focuses on scary true crime topics, most of which relate to the internet. It’s an overcrowded genre, to be sure, but Crowley stands apart. Not only are his videos expertly produced and edited, but he covers lesser-known stories that haven’t been widely told or disseminated. He has had an incredible year, continuing his “YouTube’s Darkest Videos” series and making both the second and third entries in “The Darkest Moments in TV History.” He also peppered in a few standalone stories, including that of Mr. Swirl and a horrifying TikTok video with revolting implications. There’s just no other true crime channel like it.

His channel became a sensation thanks to a combination of quality, production value, and charisma, with Scott proving an endlessly enjoyable and curious host. 2023 was another huge year for the infotainer, riding on Murriyang’s Parkes Radio Telescope, visiting a rotating house in San Diego, and traveling on the world’s fastest train. And that’s just three of the things he did! With a healthy upload schedule and a dependable eye for quality, Tom Scott is one of the most reliable and consistent YouTubers working today.

#8: JuegaGerman

It may seem like Let’s Play channels are a thing of the past. But Chilean YouTuber JuegaGerman proves that there is still a strong market for gaming and goofy reactions. Real name Germán Garmendia, JuegaGerman has now basically become a new PewDiePie, with his newer channel featuring funny reaction videos and dramatic Let’s Plays, among others. Each of his videos, which means about one or two a week, attracts millions of viewers. With a charming personality and fast-paced TikTok-style editing that keeps eyes glued to screens, JuegaGerman has mastered the art of the Let’s Play.

Jimmy Donaldson continued to dominate YouTube like a colossus in 2023 and looks set to continue that trend well into the future. This was yet another year full of accolades for the young content creator; he was crowned Creator of the Year at the Streamys, and Time named him one of the world’s 100 most influential people. His channel also passed 200 million subscribers on October 15, making MrBeast the second most subscribed channel on YouTube. 2023 was another fun year, with MrBeast shredding a Lamborghini, sending a train into a giant pit, and burying himself for a week. The fun and the philanthropy never seem to stop, making MrBeast one of the most incredible channels out there.

#5: penguinz0

We are currently in the age of the streamer, and Charles White Jr., AKA penguinz0, is still there to lead the charge. Active on both Twitch and YouTube, penguinz0 is the latter site’s foremost commentator, hilariously critiquing internet culture and its various trends. With his white t-shirt, deep voice, and flowing hair, penguinz0 entertains and informs millions of people every single week. From reviewing new movies to poking fun at trends and popular videos to exposing influencer drama - everything is on the table, and everything is presented with his trademark deadpan wit. And after winning the Commentary award at the 2023 Streamys, it seems like White’s success is still growing.

#4: Markiplier

One of the OG YouTubers, Markiplier launched his channel in 2012 and is still going strong over ten years later. He certainly found a winning formula with his Let’s Play videos, and they continue to attract millions of viewers from around the world. His “Five Nights at Freddy’s” series is especially popular, and they no doubt contributed to the success of the 2023 film. But it’s not all gaming and exaggerated jump scares. In 2023, Markiplier signed with United Talent Agency and began working on a film adaptation of the indie video game “Iron Lung.” Markiplier is venturing to Hollywood, and given his expertise in the horror genre, we’re sure it’ll be a smash.

#3: Pitch Meeting

Pitch! Storytelling with Video!

Putting Ryan George on this list is super easy, barely an inconvenience. He has forged a unique way of poking fun at movies with the absolutely hilarious “Pitch Meeting” series. George acts as both the movie’s screenwriter and producer, with the writer pitching the plot of the movie to the often-confused producer. This is a successful comedic method of highlighting the film’s various plot holes, inconsistencies, and flaws, as the writer is often befuddled with the producer’s logical questions. Not only are these pitch meetings incredibly sharp and scathing, but George delivers his lines with an energetic panache. No film is safe from the Pitch Meeting, with acclaimed winners and roasted bombs receiving equal treatment.

#2: Dude Perfect

When it comes to production values, it doesn’t get much better than Dude Perfect, with the channel's cinematic quality, creative camera work and energetic editing. Watching a Dude Perfect video is immersive and incredibly entertaining. One of the most popular channels on the site, DP continued its winning formula throughout 2023 with a variety of fun and inventive videos. There’s the old school sports stuff, like setting various golf records. Then there are the more straight-up comedic videos, and there’s also the straight-up fun stuff, like a zombie Airsoft battle in the woods. You never really know what you’re going to get with Dude Perfect, but whatever it is, it’s guaranteed to be enjoyable.
