#20: The Fight Milk Pitch

"Frank's Back in Business" When Mac and Charlie get an opportunity to pitch a product to a room full of business people, they present a truly one-of-a-kind drink. Made from crow’s eggs, milk and a questionable amount of alcohol, Fight Milk was designed to give bodyguards everywhere an extra edge. The absurd product is highlighted by a hilarious commercial. There’s lots of choppy editing, plenty of random pictures and behind-the-scenes shots accidentally left in the final video. Most of the audience seems utterly confused at what they even watched. But Mac and Charlie’s enthusiasm for their drink outshines the cheap production value. While we wouldn’t recommend actually drinking fight milk, their ridiculous pitch for it is a must see.

#19: Dennis Throws His Plate

"Mac & Dennis Move to the Suburbs" Suburban life is definitely not for everyone. Mac and Dennis learned that the hard way after an attempt to relocate to a home outside of the city slowly drives them both mad. While the entire montage where they unravel is great, the high point comes during a meal. Without warning, Dennis launches a plate of Mac’s famous Mac and cheese into the hallway. The duo’s blank faces in the wake of this unexpected turn made the moment even funnier. The image of this plate toss went on to become a great meme about people throwing something aside they don’t care for. Thanks to Dennis’ funny mac attack, we have a go-to way of showing that we’re completely over something.

#18: Frank Is the Captain Now

Top 10 Jason David Frank Tommy Oliver Moments In Power Rangers

"Thunder Gun Express" After hitting terrible traffic on the way to a movie, each member of the gang becomes desperate to get to the theater. Frank’s foolproof transportation plan involves stealing a boat tour vehicle while pretending to be the new captain. To keep up the ruse, he starts giving terrible descriptions of their surroundings. Eventually, Frank stops being informative and just starts telling people about the events of past episodes. DeVito’s gut-busting plot summaries served as a great highlight reel for the series. And as soon as he abandoned the tourists to run to his movie, we knew the scene would be unforgettable. Unfortunately for Frank, the police remembered that he stole the boat and arrested him.

#17: Mac Crashes Dee’s Car

Top 10 Times They Couldn't Keep a Straight Face On It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

"Mac and Charlie Die (Part 1)" Mac and Charlie had a pretty bad history with the intimidating and imprisoned Luther McDonald. When it becomes clear that this antagonist will get out of jail, the two plan to cause a car crash and fake their deaths before he can attack them. The duo steals Dee’s car keys, scatters evidence and makes a less-than-graceful escape out of Charlie’s apartment in increasingly funny scenes. But the best part of the plan occurs when Mac stages the crash. While we were ready to see him jump out, he instead careened straight into the wall. Mac’s easily avoidable accident was a hilarious twist. Although we knew the duo’s ill-conceived plan would probably run into a few obstacles, we still didn’t expect him to hit this wall.

#16: Joke’s On Dee

"The Gang Broke Dee" The gang usually can’t go 10 minutes without insulting Sweet Dee. But they lose interest in making fun of her when she hits a new low. She starts “The Gang Broke Dee” episode by eating old cake, smoking and drinking with little energy. She’s also able to predict any incoming insult before it can be thrown at her. Everyone in the gang besides Dennis tries to get her back on track by encouraging her to do stand up. After she achieves astronomical success, they reveal her career was all an elaborate hoax.. Their prank is so needlessly cruel and complex that we can’t help but be impressed. And Dee’s rage filled reaction was the perfect punchline for the joke they had at her expense.

#15: Dennis Doesn’t Flinch

"Chardee MacDennis: The Game of Games" During a slow day at the bar, the main cast agrees to play a complicated game that has tons of outlandish rules and events. After Dennis makes it through the mind round, he’s expected to put his body on the line to win. This leads to a scene where he can’t flinch an inch while darts are headed straight towards his hand. It’s incredibly entertaining to see a cocky Dennis stare down at his opponents while remaining still. Even when a dart is accidentally lodged into his hand, he refuses to crack. We may never truly understand how to play this elaborate game of games. But we know that Dennis deserved to walk away victorious here for winning us over with this dart incident.

#14: Charlie’s Ridiculously Correct Answer

Also in:

Good Luck Charlie Cast: Where Are They Now?

“The Gang Goes On Family Fight” “It’s Always Sunny’s” brilliant parody of Family Feud is packed with plenty of laughable turns. Throughout the episode, Sweet Dee breaks the buzzer, Dennis finds himself unable to handle the show’s buzzing noises and Keegen Michael Key’s Steve Harvey parody becomes frustrated. One of the many things that upsets the host is Charlie’s ability to get the right answer. When he’s asked to “name an animal we eat but doesn’t eat us”, he goes with a mythical creature. His complete confidence is priceless. And we were just as stunned as the host was when dragon turned out to be the right answer. The gang really should’ve let Charlie play the lightning round after his stellar performance.

#13: Dennis Unleashes His Rage

"The Gang Misses the Boat" Dennis’ failed attempt to catch up to a boat with his car leaves his vehicle underwater. Instead of letting himself be consumed by anger, he tries to sell the vehicle without losing his cool at all. Just when Dennis is about to close a deal with a prospective customer, the buyer says the vehicle will be a starter car for his daughter. This simple declaration leads into one of the best rants in the show’s history. As Dennis’ rage increases to astronomically high levels, we couldn’t help but wonder how actor Glenn Howerton kept a straight face during this off-the-walls monologue. The expert way he channeled all that anger made us believe that he was a golden god of comedy.

#12: Charlie Sets Up a Dating Profile

"The Waitress Is Getting Married" Although Charlie spent years focused on trying to woo the waitress, he’s willing to go along with a plan to set up a dating profile. After a quick picture taking session, his friends ask him to answer a couple of basic questions so they can write down his interests. But they instantly become frustrated with every single one of his answers. For some reason, Mac and Dennis don’t think Charlie should mention that he prefers to chomp down on milksteak or likes ghouls. Watching the oblivious bachelor rattle off bizzare answers never gets old. Charlie earned a nice heaping helping of milksteak after bungling his profile in such a hilarious way.

#11: The Epic & Awful Dance Number

"The High School Reunion Part 2: The Gang's Revenge" A series of unfortunate events and mishaps at a high school reunion leaves the gang desperate to impress their classmates. Ultimately, they all agree to blow their peers away with a dance number. After George Michael’s “Freedom” kicks in, the gang performs an amazing routine. The cast gets to show off their impressive coordination and movement skills. And Kaitlin Olson deserves a special shoutout for incorporating the back brace into the choreography so well. While all the dancing was impressive, the routine becomes legendary once it’s revealed that it never actually happened. The gang was actually just dancing horribly while imagining they were crushing it. This brilliant twist gave fans of comedy and dance everything the best of both worlds.

#10: Jersey Shore Montage

"The Gang Goes to the Jersey Shore" Sometime after the gang splits up for their own adventures across the Jersey Shore, we get updates on all of their exploits with one fantastic sequence. During this montage, Mac and Frank go the extra mile to blend in with locals while reuniting with their rum ham. Charlie also has the weird date night of his dreams with the waitress. And last but certainly not least, Dee and Dennis slowly realize that they’ve befriended violent criminals. As they get in deeper and deeper danger, their harrowing journey becomes more side-splitting. Every storyline has excellent physical humor and its own unique identity. This tour of the Jersey shore definitely didn’t disappoint.

#9: Five Star Man

Also in:

Top 10 It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Moments

"The Gang Group Dates" Once Dennis finds out that women are rating men they date online, he becomes obsessed with improving his one star score. Unfortunately, all his attempts to improve his profile only make him look a lot worse. Dennis even falls to half a star at one point! Overcome with frustration, he screams out a now legendary quote in the middle of the bar. This line of dialogue perfectly captured his inflated ego and constant need to come off as cool. It’s also extremely fun to say at home. Although Dennis fell to 0 stars by the end of the episode, we’ll always give him and this quote a 5 star rating.

#8: Charlie Plays the Wild Card

"The Gang Solves the Gas Crisis" Before the gang launches their scheme to profit off of gasoline, they name Charlie as the wild card of the crew. Throughout the episode, he keeps doing random and comical things in the hopes that it will lead to success. But Charlie’s ridiculous actions consistently fail to impress or help his friends. He finally gets his chance to shine when the gang is all gathered in a van. After Mac realizes he can’t stop the car, Charlie reveals he’s responsible. His final act of sabotage was a beautiful way to pay off the wild card joke. Charlie’s friends learned the hard way that giving him free reign to do whatever he wants can have explosive consequences.

#7: Dennis & Charlie Gaze at Each Other

"The Gang Dines Out" What could’ve been a nice restaurant evening out for the gang turned into a battle of wills and tables. When Frank and Charlie get a table across the restaurant from Dennis and Mac, both parties wait to be approached by their friends. But the two Reynolds men refuse to yield to the other table. In the middle of the feud, Charlie and Mac catch each other’s eyes. The longing gaze they share is absolutely hilarious. Although they spend pretty much every waking hour together, the duo acts like they’ve been separated for years. Every person deserves to have someone look at them the way Mac and Charlie look at each other.

#6: Frank Starts Blasting

"Gun Fever Too: Still Hot" Frank’s never been afraid to sink to new lows in order to make a quick buck. In one episode, he lies about defending himself from muggers with guns on the news. Frank’s ultimate goal was to get frightened people to buy the brand of firearms so he could turn a profit. During his energized appearance on the news, he gets really into his fake story and demonstrates how he stopped them. The sheer sight of Frank whipping out a pair of firearms and shooting them like he was in a western is enough to get us laughing every time. In the end, we learn that his silly gunslinging ways actually motivated people to go out and buy his product.

#5: A One Shot Health Inspection

Also in:

Top 10 Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia Bloopers

"Charlie Work" While Charlie is usually seen as disposable to the gang, he becomes essential to them when a health inspector comes to evaluate the bar. He’s given the daunting task of making them look reputable while putting out lots of small fires. This scenario went from great to absolutely legendary when the show conveyed Charlie’s journey with an epic long shot. While there were a few subtle cuts during the 7-minute sequence in reality, it looks seamless on film. It was mind-blowing to see the show incorporate so many props, characters and moving parts at once. And Charlie is absolutely magnetic as the lead in this sequence. When the one shot ends with the bar passing with flying colors, you’ll want to stand up and cheer.

#4: Dennis Details His System of Seduction

"The D.E.N.N.I.S. System" Anyone who wondered how a dude as sketchy as Dennis keeps getting dates had their questions answered by one acronym. While his system of seduction starts with a white lie, it eventually escalates into gaslighting and abandonment. Dennis explains every step of his sinister method while we see scenes of him using it on a pharmacist named Kayleigh. What makes this sequence incredibly fun to watch is the amount of unexpected turns his system takes. As an added rewatch bonus, Glenn Howerton’s real life wife plays the target of his seduction. After this great explanation, the D.E.N.N.I.S system becomes a running gag on the show. But no reference will top the grand debut of this dating method.

#3: Pepe Silvia

"Sweet Dee Has a Heart Attack" Shortly after getting a job in a busy and stressful mailroom, Charlie starts to unravel. The biggest sign that he’s gone off the rails comes when he introduces his Pepe Silvia conspiracy theory. According to Charlie, the letters to a mystery man that allegedly works in the building are being bounced because the employee doesn’t actually exist. He tries to sell the theory with giant leaps in logic and tons of red string. Not only was Charlie’s ridiculous Pepe Silvia story hilarious to listen to, but it also became a fantastic meme to talk about things that drive them a little batty. It wouldn’t have been as popular without Charlie Day’s gut-busting and fully committed performance. He might’ve caught Pepe Siliva red-handed…if he didn’t get fired.

#2: Mac Comes Out to His Dad

Also in:

Top 10 Funniest Avatar: The Last Airbender Moments

"Mac Finds His Pride" Mac’s struggle to figure out his sexuality was initially treated as a running side story. However, the show gave the plotline tons of attention for one stunning number. Mac decides to come out to his dad via a public dance routine. While we were half expecting the show to make a joke, the dance is played completely seriously. The emotional number genuinely captures Mac’s journey of accepting himself and reconciling his sexuality with his religious beliefs. This sequence also contains a heartbreaking moment where his father leaves the audience during the performance. Fortunately, he couldn’t ruin the beautiful choreography, heartfelt message and emotional beats that Mac’s dance delivered.

#1: The Entire “Nightman Cometh” Musical

Also in:

Top 10 Best Victorious Moments

"The Nightman Cometh" It is impossible to pick a single standout aspect of Charlie Kelly’s grand musical. The sets and costumes are absolutely flawless. In every scene, the music, lyrics and acting keep us either laughing or gasping. And Charlie’s offstage reactions to his friends making mistakes or performing poorly are absolute gold. Just when you think the musical can’t get any better, Charlie descends from the sky in a yellow suit and tries to propose to the waitress on the spot. From top to bottom, the “Nightman Cometh” is a 5 star experience. Who needs Broadway when the “Always Sunny” crew has already performed the greatest musical ever made?
