VOICE OVER: Saraah Hicks
Zendaya owns the red carpet with these outfits. For this list, we'll be looking at this Disney-kid-turned-mega-star's most iconic looks. Our countdown includes "Dune" photocall, Met Gala, Venice Film Festival, and more!

#20: “Dune” Photocall

While this is technically a press event, these photos totally read as red carpet! The stars of “Dune” looked absolutely stunning the entire press tour, and Zendaya’s London look in particular was jaw dropping. She wore a corset-style top and checkered skirt straight off the runway, a look that was first seen in the Vivienne Westwood Spring-Summer 2020 collection. The starlet would swap out the beige booties on the catwalk for a pair of pumps that complimented the tones of the skirt, and it matched the movie vibes perfectly! The outfit was great on its own, but it’s straight up mesmerizing on Zendaya!

#19: CFDA Fashion Awards (2021)

We think we speak for everyone when we say this look deserves its own moment, because WOW. Zendaya is absolutely breathtaking. The fashion-forward star was attending the “CFDA Fashion Awards” to receive the Fashion Icon Award which was presented to her by fellow style icon, Iman. Zendaya stepped out on the carpet in a red two piece set from Vera Wang. The red bandeau top and floor-length skirt were paired with Bulgari diamonds and, to put it bluntly, she looked expensive! At the reception, Z completed the look with a very chic cropped blazer. Quite honestly, every photo taken that night deserves to be hung in art galleries.

#18: Academy Awards (2021)

Zendaya has served so many looks at the Oscars, it can be hard to decide on a favorite. Her 2022 set was pretty amazing but, in 2021, she offered up something truly astonishing. Stepping out onto the red carpet in a beautiful strapless, neon-yellow, custom Valentino dress paired with matching Jimmy Choos and of course, Bulgari diamonds, Z absolutely dazzled us. While the starlet walked the tapestry, her stylist gave fans a few behind-the-scene peeps on his Instagram. Law Roach even took to his stories to pay homage to one of his style inspirations, Cher.

#17: Valentino Paris Fashion Week (2022)

We are pretty sure that Zendaya in Valentino is a match made in heaven. The fashion icon arrived on the hot pink carpet, dripping head-to-toe in the very same color. She paired the flower-detailed suit with the most amazing matching platform boots we have ever seen. And the look was to die for! Hot pink was at the forefront of Valentino’s Paris Fashion Week collection, yet Zendaya still managed to stand out. At this point, we’re convinced that her ability to be photogenic in every possible picture is a super power! Sorry, Tom - you’ve got some competition in the superhero department!

#16: Tiffany and Co. "Paper Flowers Collection" Launch Event (2018)

Zendaya wearing clothes that match the backdrop. That’s the entry. Just kidding! In 2018, Tiffany hosted a launch party to show their Paper Flowers Jewelry collection to the world. Zendaya arrived at the event wearing a powder blue bubble dress by Dice Kayek Couture. The dress was just a few shades off of the Tiffany blue party decoration and it complimented the actress so well. It was paired with Louboutin polka dot heels and a bouncy bob that only Z herself could pull off! The designer said flowers were a big inspiration for this collection, so it was definitely fitting to see this outfit at such an event.

#15: “Spider-Man: No Way Home” London Premiere

Throughout the different “Spider-Man” premieres, Zendaya has been serving spider-themed looks. In late 2021, she stepped onto the red carpet with her MCU co-stars in an Alexander McQueen blazer dress. The fit was draped in embroidered crystals that matched the ones on her stockings. At first glance, this is just a killer outfit, but the web-shaped earrings really pull the entire outfit together. The look comes from McQueen’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection, but it looks like it was made exclusively for this star at this event. But, since it is straight from the collection, anyone can replicate the look for a reasonable $20,000.

#14: 26th MTV Movie & TV Awards (2017)

Zendaya is absolutely ethereal. She stepped on the black carpet of the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards looking like the picture of sophisticated grace. Clad in an ankle-length Zuhair Murad dress, Z gave us the perfect combination of a dolled-up Poison Ivy and an old Hollywood star. The chartreuse-colored, semi-sheer dress featured a deep plunging neckline and embroidered floral details. She also finished the look with gold heels and an elegant bob-like hairdo. If someone told us this look was the human incarnation of the goddess Persephone, we would be pretty inclined to believe them.

#13: Met Gala (2016)

You know a look is good when you can’t decide what to focus on. The hair? The dress? The makeup? Everything is just so stunning, we can’t decide! In 2016, the theme for the Met Gala was “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” and Zendaya, of course, delivered. She arrived in a one sleeve, gold rhinestone, Michael Kors gown, accompanied by the fashion designer himself. The dress alone was enough to stun, but the blunt bowl cut and dark, smoky makeup really brought the robot realness.

#12: Billboard Music Awards (2016)

Zendaya may have been at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards as a presenter, but her outfit screams, “give me all the awards!” The exposed-midriff look hasn’t been popular for some time now, but Zendaya appears to have brought it back from the dead, with a little help from this eye-catching peach colored getup. With her hair straight, her body tight and her eyes shooting daggers into the lenses of every camera pointed in her direction, Zendaya absolutely killed it on the event’s (admittedly) not-so-red carpet. Seriously, who do we have to pay to look this good?

#11:“The Greatest Showman” Premiere

The Incredible Rise of Zendaya

In “The Greatest Showman,” Zendaya plays acrobat Anne Wheeler; and for the film’s world premiere in New York she was appropriately walking high above everyone else in this breathtaking gown! Designed by Viktor & Rolf, the gown appears to be a homage to the outfit worn by Hugh Jackman’s character in the film, the legendary P.T. Barnum. Be that as it may, Zendaya plays second fiddle to no one in this incredible outfit. The black and red-tiered design, combined with a sleek black bob, suits her perfectly. This was not the only time she shined at a “Greatest Showman” premiere…but more on that later.

#10: Met Gala (2017)

We return to the Met Gala. The 2017 iteration of the event saw guests interpreting Art of the In-Between by Rei Kawakubo and her fashion house Comme des Garçons. Zendaya’s gown was arguably the highlight of the event, an off the shoulder masterpiece of fashion design that was brought to life by Dolce & Gabbana and accentuated beautifully by Zendaya’s frizzed-out and dramatic hairstyle. The gown itself is adorned with bright colors and images of birds and flowers. It’s a truly a one of a kind outfit and Zendaya was the perfect person to introduce it to the world!

Fans have been waiting to see Zendaya with red hair since she was cast as MJ in the MCU and, boy, she did not disappoint. While the hair wasn’t actually for a movie as far as we know, the actress showed up to the 2019 Emmys as the picture of elegance. On the carpet she wore a stunning emerald green Vera Wang dress with a thigh-high slit and a corset-style top, as well as gorgeous matching pumps and Cartier jewelry to boot. This look is even closer to Poison Ivy than her 2017 MTV awards look and we’re living for it!

#8: Academy Awards (2015)

At the 2015 Academy Awards, Zendaya took a page out of old Hollywood’s playbook and absolutely slayed the red carpet in this beautiful off-the-shoulder silk gown. Displaying the grace and poise of a seasoned vet despite still being in her late teens, Zendaya’s confident look turned more than a few heads on Hollywood’s biggest night. None other than fashion icon Vivienne Westwood designed the gown and Zendaya chose to accessorize with a set of pearl earrings and simple yet effective pink clutch. Zendaya’s dreadlocks perfectly juxtaposed with the formality of the gown giving her a unique, yet well-rounded look.

#7: Met Gala (2019)

People on the internet usually spend the week after the Met Gala pointing out all the celebrities that didn’t follow the theme for the event. Zendaya is rarely (if ever) one of those celebrities. At the 2019 Met Gala, the theme was “Camp”, which is an aesthetic that encompasses everything extra and over-the-top. As usual, Zendaya nailed it, arriving on the carpet as Cinderella - literally! She was even accompanied by her stylist fairy godmother. The duo looked insanely magical but, sadly, this was the last Met Gala we’ve seen her at. We hope the icon makes an appearance at the next one!

#6: “Spider-Man: Homecoming” Premiere

Zendaya cut a striking figure at the Los Angeles premiere for the 2017 superhero flick “Spider-Man: Homecoming”. Designed by Ralph & Russo, this hot pink number must have had people craning their necks for a better look thanks to its high slit and flowing fabric. Zendaya looks absolutely ravishing. The gown is well suited to her features, and is complimented perfectly with a pair of matching high heels. Zendaya brings an air of effortless grace to every red carpet she walks, and this one is no exception.

#5: Met Gala (2015)

Held annually at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the Met Gala fundraiser has become one of the fashion industries go-to events for showcasing bold new designs, with the help of famous celebrities. Zendaya made her first appearance in 2015 and hasn’t missed one since. Her first showing was an impressive one. Rocking Fausto Puglisi, the singer and actress shone, despite being surrounded by some of the biggest names in the entertainment and fashion industries. Like most of the outfits she chooses to wear, this one is wholly unique, and features brazen patterns, multiple bracelets and a tiara. Basically, it’s a Zendaya look.

#4: Met Gala (2018)

Remember what we said about Zendaya not missing a Met Gala since 2015? Well she showed up to the 2018 event dressed head to toe in a Joan of Arc inspired outfit that completely stole the show! The theme of that year’s gala was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination. As such, Zendaya’s decision to wear a metallic armor-like dress straight out of 15th century France was perfectly in keeping with the gala’s imposed aesthetic. No stranger to switching up her hairstyle to suit an event, Zendaya chose to rock an apricot bob that, for some reason, just works! Seriously who else would have the guts to pull off an outfit like this?

#3: Australian Premiere of “The Greatest Showman”

To say that Zendaya was the center of attention at the Australian premiere of “The Greatest Showman” would be an understatement. Ensuring that she wouldn’t be upstaged by anyone, Zendaya rocked this epic butterfly dress by Moschino. The outfit is absolutely stunning and features three of Zendaya’s trademarks: a wild premise, a high slit and a hairstyle from a bygone era! Put it all together and you have one heck of a look! It takes courage to rock a dress like this one; something Zendaya obviously has in spades!

#2: Venice Film Festival (2021)

This is an outfit that seems to defy the laws of physics! At the 2021 Venice Film Festival, Z walked the red carpet wearing a light caramel leather Balmain Couture dress with quite the magnificent slit. It was created by molding leather exactly to her body shape in such a way that made the dress look wet. She finished it off with matching heels and a bold, green Bulgari statement necklace. We love seeing the actress in straight-off-the-runway looks, but seeing her in a dress made custom to her body was simply breathtaking.

#1: Critics' Choice Awards (2020)

Given just how long Zendaya has been gracing us with her incredible sense of fashion, you’d think it might be difficult to have a favorite. But this outfit makes it so, so easy. Zendaya arrived at the 2020 Critics’ Choice Awards in the most stunning hot pink outfit we have probably ever seen - which is saying a lot considering how many designers have been focusing on hot pink in recent years. She delivered major superhero vibes in a Tom Ford breast plate and brought it all together with a matching floor length skirt, pumps, and braids going all the way down to her waist. This is something fun and flashy, and Z looked undeniably STUNNING. We can’t wait to see all the looks she serves in the next decade.
