Jared Leto to Star as Hugh Hefner in New PLAYBOY Biopic – The CineFiles Ep. 41

Some critics of DC’s Justice League thought Jared Leto’s Joker was one of the worst parts of the film. But that hasn’t stopped Warner Bros. from trying to make the actor’s version of the character work. According to Variety, the production company has given the green light to expand on Leto’s Joker in an untitled standalone movie. Plot details are few and far between according to Variety, but that the idea is to build on the world established in Suicide Squad, and use the movie as a springboard for future installments within that same universe. If you thought there was already a Joker movie in the works, you’re not wrong. Todd Phillips is also working on a Joker origin tale separate from the Suicide Squad universe, with Joaquin Phoenix rumored to have signed on to play the Joker. In addition to these two films, Warner Bros. is also producing a Harley Quinn spinoff movie with Margot Robbie reprising her titular role.

The Addams family is hitting the big screen, animation style, and MGM has gone all out with who will be voicing the macabre family. Headlining the all-star cast will be Oscar Isaac and Charlize Theron, who will be voicing Gomez and Morticia Addams, respectively. Chloe Grace Moretz has also signed on and will play Wednesday Addams, and Stranger Things breakout star Finn Wolfhard is set to play her brother Pugsley. The big name talent doesn’t stop there, though, as Nick Kroll will voice Uncle Fester, Bette Midler, Grandmama and Allison Janney as the family’s bitter rival, Margaux Needler. The plot of the movie focuses on the family’s unraveling as they butt heads with a “crafty” reality TV host while also anticipating the arrival of their extended family. The Addams family is pop culture royalty, previously airing two television shows and two movies starring Anjelica Huston and Christina Ricci. Before we get to our final entry, here are a couple new releases: “Hereditary” (2018) “Ocean’s 8” (2018)

#1: “Bumblebee” Trailer Looks to Transform “Transformers” Franchise

If you thought the Bumblebee trailer would showcase your typical Michael Bay flair for destruction, you’d be completely wrong. Paramount dropped the film’s first official teaser trailer and it’s clear that the company is trying to shift the franchise’s tone in a more emotional, nostalgic and dramatic direction. The trailer – which is kind of reminiscent of films like The Iron Giant, E.T. and even Super 8 – begins with Hailee Steinfeld’s character searching for a “new” car in a junkyard, eventually coming across a beat-up Volkswagen Beetle, with a not-so-subtle Easter Egg of a honeycomb inside the car’s wheel well. After finding out that the jalopy is actually a Transformer, the two create a strong bond, which will be necessary when they go up against a secret Government Agency known as Sector Seven, led by John Cena and other, meaner Transformers. The film, which takes 20 years before the first film, is set for release Christmas day.
