7 Things You Should Know About Sonic Colors

The sneaker-clad hedgehog is back for yet another high-speed adventure. Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we’ll be exploring the 7 things you should know about Sonic Colors for the Nintendo Wii.

Number 1: The Plot

After publicly showing a sense of remorse for his past indiscretions, Dr. Eggman apologizes by building an intergalactic amusement park. However, the true purpose of this playground is to capture the alien inhabitants of several planets, known as Wisps, and harness their colored energy. Discovering this, Sonic and his pal Tails embark on a journey to free the colorful creatures.

Number 2: The Setting

Taking a page from the vast and astonishing level design of Mario Galaxy, Sonic Colors’ extraordinary amusement park is set in space and orbits Sonic the Hedgehog’s home planet. Housing several biospheres and astonishing vistas, the game isn’t held back by any sense of gravity or terrestrial limitations.

Number 3: The Wisps

Throughout Sonic’s latest adventure, Wisps play a vital role in helping you advance to the next area. In total there are 8 colorful Wisps to collect that will give you special abilities. Among these abilities include the power to turn into a laser beam, drill through surfaces, blast up into the sky, stick to walls and hover.

Number 4: Gameplay

If there was one thing Sonic has been commonly accused of, it’s the sense that his games play themselves. While key moments of this remain for the purpose of spectacular transitions between areas, a large amount of control and choice has been added to minimize the feel that you are glued to a rail. What this ultimately creates is a Sonic game that allows you to do more than any other game in the series through the use of power-ups, multiple paths and secret areas.

Number 5: Graphics

Despite its Wii-exclusivity for the home consoles, gamers will be pleasantly surprised to witness graphics that are rich with luminescent colors and matched by an equally impressive display of art design. In fact, the game’s soft and poetic world allows for Sonic to be especially defined as he bounces between enemies, revs up speed and slices across the screen.

Number 6: Control Options

In order to offer the most flexibility when it comes to control options, Sonic Colors supports every controller peripheral and control layout imaginable. These include playing with just the remote, the nunchuck combination, the Wii classic controller and even the gamecube game pad.

Number 7: Sonic Simulator Mode

Featuring a unique 'Sonic Simulator' mode, players are able to control 'Sonic-bots' through a series of hair-raising challenges, either alone or in competitive or co-operative multiplayer.

With these avatars, players are able to race through obstacles while combining Wisp powers to rake up points that will show up in the game’s online leader board, adding a significant amount of replay value to the adventure

Conclusion:

Sonic fans, new and old, will be happy to learn that Sega has finally given their mascot a proper platformer that mixes rewarding exploration with a true sense of blistering speed.
