Shake It Up Cast: Where Are They Now?

Welcome to MsMojo, and today we’re counting down our picks for the Shake It Up Cast: Where Are They Now?

For this list, we’ll be looking at what the stars of the Disney Channel show have been up to since the show wrapped.

Be sure to post in the comments and let us know which of these actors is your favorite.

#10: Anita Barone

Baron was Georgia Jones on “Shake It Up.” Since then, her acting credits have largely consisted of minor guest spots. To Barone’s credit, though, they’ve been on pretty impressive shows. These include, but are not limited to, “K.C. Undercover,” “Hot in Cleveland,” “Parenthood,” and “A Million Little Things.” But if you feel like you recognize Baron from somewhere else, you might be thinking of a sitcom credit she earned long before “Shake It Up” ever existed. In fact, she was the actress who originally brought Carol Willick to life on “Friends”, before Jane Sibbett permanently took over the role!

#9: Ainsley Bailey

Ainsley Bailey played Dina Garcia on the hit Disney Channel series. In the years since she wrapped up her character’s storyline, the actress has continued to rack up acting credits. Notably, she guest-starred in one episode of “13 Reasons Why” as Dee. More recently, she was in the 2020 horror film “John Henry” as a trafficked girl. While she continues to act periodically, Bailey seems to have shifted her focus to a new medium: stand-up comedy. Most notably, she performed at the Flappers Comedy Club and Restaurant Burbank in California. That’s one well-rounded star!

#8: R. Brandon Johnson

Following his portrayal of egotistical Gary Wilde, Johnson’s acting credits have been relatively scarce. Namely, he appeared in one episode of “Firsts” as Matt and “Henry Danger” as Rick Richards. He’s also had parts in a few different films, like “Malevolence 3” and “High Voltage.” However, 2018 marks his last credited acting role. But while he’s not bringing as many new characters to life anymore, Johnson has continued to find success as a host. Most notably, he currently puts his charm on display on “Fully Alive”, a podcast focused on how negative experiences can be used for positive purposes in life.

#7: Davis Cleveland

After playing Flynn Jones, Cleveland took on a few more acting jobs. Most notably, he was Manny in "Rufus" and "Rufus-2." However, the actor has seemingly altered his path since then. He now seems to be living life largely as a typical teenager. His Instagram bio reveals that he goes to Texas A&M University, and is scheduled to graduate in 2024. If you scroll through his feed, you’ll see he’s pretty much like any other college kid! Cleveland also appears to enjoy bodybuilding, though the Instagram page dedicated to that part of his life is private. It’s safe to say he’s all grown up.

#6: Caroline Sunshine

After playing Tinka Hessenheffer, Sunshine continued her acting career for a while. Namely, she was Emily Jordan in "The Outfield'' and Sylvie in the TV movie "Mommy, I Didn’t Do It." However, her last acting credit on IMDb dates back to 2017, and there’s an interesting reason for that. A few years ago, the actress decided to get into politics. In 2018, she became part of the Trump White House’s Press Department, which resulted in some controversy. She actually took the comments people made about her new career path and put them on the top half of a dress she wore to a Correspondents Association event. It remains to be seen if Sunshine will someday return to the big screen.

#5: Kenton Duty

In the years since his time as Gunther Hessenheffer, Duty has remained busy. On the television front, he had a 16 episode arc as Derek Trisk on "Hilton Head Island.'' As for features, his roles include Todd in "Little Savages" and Matthew in the TV movie "A Housekeeper's Revenge." And those are just a few of the credits on his resume. But that’s not all. You can find Duty on TikTok, and his Instagram bio teases that his "Debut EP releasing soon." Plus, you can check out the podcast he hosted with his wife Mosley Agin, “Relationship Goals with Kimmie and Kenton,” or head to their joint YouTube channel!

#4: Adam Irigoyen

Since his stint as the confident Deuce Martinez on “Shake It Up,” Irigoyen has maintained a steady pace of work. He’s had a few one-episode guest spots on such shows as “2 Broke Girls,” “K.C. Undercover,” and “The Resident.” More prominently, he landed a recurring role on the teen drama “The Fosters” where he appeared for 6 episodes as Kyle Snow. He also played Ray on the sci-fi series “The Last Ship.” Then, in 2020, he tackled two new projects. On the movie front, he played Francisco in “Centurion XII.” And on television, he brought Isaac Rodriguez to life in “Away.” While the series was canceled after one season, we’re excited to see what he does next.

#3: Roshon Fegan

Roshon Fegan played Ty Blue on “Shake It Up.” As the show made clear, he is a multi-talented artist. He put his dancing skills to good use when he competed on "Dancing with the Stars” in 2012! After “Shake It Up” ended in 2013, he didn’t slow down. He got a recurring role on "Greenleaf'' where he played Isaiah Hambrick and voiced Elbone on "Dragons: Rescue Riders." Not to mention he’s had guest spots on shows like "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" and “Insecure.” And if that wasn’t impressive enough, he’s a rapper as well. The star is part of a duo called Evo Invasion, alongside Stilltech. They released their first mixtape, “Copwork,” in 2020. That’s some serious range!

#2: Bella Thorne

Bella Thorne was none other than CeCe Jones on the Disney Channel series, and she’s been thriving since. Namely, she was the star of "Famous in Love," a show from the mind behind “Pretty Little Liars,” I. Marlene King. She played the main character, Paige Townsen. However, the show was subsequently canceled. Of course, the star was also mean girl Madison Morgan in the Mae Whitman-led movie “The DUFF.” Those are just a fraction of the roles she’s played. Thorne’s talents don’t stop at acting, as she also has a successful singing career. She even appeared as the Swan on the FOX reality series "The Masked Singer." Needless to say, she’s just getting started.

#1: Zendaya

Since bringing Rocky Blue to life, Zendaya has been unstoppable. Following the show's end, she got the lead part in another Disney Channel show, "K.C. Undercover." Since then, she's gone on to play more mature roles. She’s taken on a plethora of different projects, from “The Greatest Showman” to the “Spider-Man” films. Most notably, she's the star of “Euphoria” where she plays Rue Bennett. Her amazing performance on the dramatic series even earned her a Primetime Emmy. She also recently starred in the Netflix film "Malcolm and Marie." Beyond acting, her fashion is always flawless and she’s a fierce advocate for social justice. In other words, Zendaya is a force to be reckoned with.
