Raquel Lee is an old school member of “The Amanda Show,” having appeared in the first season before being replaced by Josh Peck. Following “The Amanda Show,” she landed a role on “The Proud Family,” an animated sitcom that ran on the Disney Channel between 2001 and 2005. She then did bit roles in various TV shows and made-for-TV movies before landing a recurring role on “Real Husbands of Hollywood,” a satire created by and starring Kevin Hart. In 2017 she appeared as Terri in the stoner comedy “Grow House.” Lee is now a mother, as she welcomed her first baby girl in July of 2016.
John Kassir was a showbiz veteran long before his time on “The Amanda Show,” known primarily as the voice of the Crypt Keeper from the “Tales from the Crypt” franchise. Since his time on “The Amanda Show,” Kassir has appeared in dozens upon dozens of films, video games, and TV programs due to his incredible vocal talents. Some of his most notable credits include “Monsters University,” “Rick and Morty,” “Halo 5,” and “Pete’s Dragon.” In 2019, he provided additional voices in “The Secret Life of Pets 2” and appeared as Stan in the acclaimed FX comedy drama “Better Things.” Chances are that if something is animated, John Kassir’s voice is in there somewhere.
Nancy Sullivan is a trained improv performer, having studied acting at the University of Utah and training with the famous improv troupe The Groundlings. She played various characters on “The Amanda Show,” including Marcy Stimple, Ms. DeBoat, and Mrs. Klutz. After “The Amanda Show” she transitioned to “Drake & Josh,” where she became famous for portraying Audrey Parker-Nichols. She has since transitioned to voice work, much like her co-star John Kassir. In 2016 she provided the voice of Serafie in the video game “World of Final Fantasy,” and in 2017 performed various voices in the animated adventure comedy “Monster Island.”
If there’s one thing Josh Peck is known for, it’s for having the greatest glow up of all time. If not that, then definitely “Drake & Josh,” the classic Nickelodeon sitcom he starred in following “The Amanda Show.” Like many of his co-stars, Josh Peck has done a lot of voice work in recent years, and he is perhaps best known for voicing Casey Jones in the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” franchise. His voice can also be heard in various animated movies, including “The Angry Birds Movie” and the “Ice Age” series. And, like a lot of celebrities today, Josh has a popular YouTube channel where he does silly things with friends and shares personal videos with his wife, Paige O’Brien. Yep, he is taken.
And here we come to the other half of “Drake & Josh,” Drake Bell. Bell has done A LOT of vocal work in recent years, appearing in dozens of direct-to-DVD movies, short films, and TV shows. But perhaps his most substantial role is that of Peter Parker. Bell provided the voice of Spider-Man on Disney XD’s “Ultimate Spider-Man,” which ran from 2012 to 2017, as well as “Avengers Assemble” and “Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.” Unlike his co-star, Drake Bell has avoided YouTube and focused instead on music, having released three studio albums, including 2014’s “Ready Steady Go!” Perhaps his greatest piece of work is a cover of Lil Pump’s “Gucci Gang”. It’s a work of art.
And what of the namesake herself, Amanda Bynes? Unfortunately, the story is not a very happy one. For a while there, Bynes was riding high, starring in movies like “Hairspray” and “Easy A” and scoring the lead role in The WB sitcom “What I Like About You.” Unfortunately, Bynes began to suffer from poor mental health in the early 2010s, and her mother was granted conservatorship over her in 2013. Despite a brief respite, she was again placed under conservatorship after exhibiting troubling behavior, exorbitantly spending her savings, accusing her father of sexual abuse, and implying that a microchip was implanted in her brain. Fortunately, she showed obvious progress in 2018 when she apologized for her past behavior and announced that she was four years sober.
