Emma Stone has a gift for playing characters that are sarcastic and down-to-earth, but that also have a good heart. That’s essentially Megara in a nutshell. Much like Stone’s character in “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” Meg is an independent gal who isn’t looking for romance at first. Over time, though, she finds herself falling head over heels for a dashing wonderboy. In addition to sharing Meg’s dry wit and screwball charm, Stone has proven herself to be an exquisite singer, making her Broadway debut in “Cabaret” and bringing down the house in “La La Land.” Just imagine her singing a rendition of “I Won't Say (I'm in Love).” Until then, Stone is already in talks to playa live-action Cruella de Vil.

Deborah Ann Woll has all the physical traits to play the little mermaid, possessing a pale complexion, slim figure, and strawberry blonde locks (though that isn’t her natural hair color, she’s been sporting that hue since she was a teen). This casting choice isn’t purely skin-deep, however. Woll broke out into stardom on HBO’s “True Blood” as newly turned vampire Jessica Hamby, who actually has a fair deal in common with Princess Ariel. Both characters are wide-eyed and rebellious youths, which means they don’t always make the wisest decisions. At the same time, it’s hard not be won over by their enthusiasm, determination, and lust for life. With a lively screen presence, natural comedic chops, and an upbeat singing voice, Woll would make a pitch perfect fish out of water.

While not the biggest name on this list, Necar Zadegan has been doing respectable work as a character actress for well over a decade. On television, she’s best known for her recurring role as First Lady Dalia Hassan in “24.” On the film spectrum, she’s received praise for her performance as the titular character in “Elena Undone.” Full of spunk, elegance and resilience, this Iranian-American actress has all the right attributes to portray Princess Jasmine. Plus, just look at her! With gorgeous dark hair, bright eyes, and a delicate nose, she’s practically a carbon copy of the Middle Eastern beauty. Just give her a magic carpet and Zadegan is guaranteed to show us a whole new world.

Julia Jones certainly shares a resemblance to Chief Powhatan’s daughter, with her captivating eyes, luscious lips, and statuesque face. More importantly, Jones has the passion and strength required to make Pocahontas soar like an eagle. This Native and African American actress got her big break as Leah Clearwater in “The Twilight Saga,” creating a complex, loyal, and fiercely driven woman who isn’t afraid to speak her mind. We’re confident that Jones would bring these essential qualities to her portrayal of Pocahontas, painting the adventurous heroine with all the colors of the wind.

When people think of sisters in show business, Dakota and Elle Fanning often come to mind. We can’t think of a better duo to bring the Snow Queen and Princess of Arendelle to life. As Elsa, Dakota would strike a balance between being cold and reserved while also being warm and loving. Elle, who was previously seen as Aurora in “Maleficent,” is sure to create a plucky, energetic, and awkwardly lovable Anna. The fact that these two are sisters in real life would add another layer of authenticity to their on-screen chemistry, which would be crucial in a live-action “Frozen” remake.

We’ve gotten a couple live-action interpretations of Snow White in recent years. For some reason, though, none of the casting directors in Hollywood have given this actress/singer a call. Paired with lips red as the rose, hair black as ebony, and skin white as snow, Lucy Hale could fit the Magic Mirror’s description of Snow White to a T. Of course it takes more than looks alone to be the fairest in the land. As Aria Montgomery on “Pretty Little Liars,” Hale continues to win audiences over with her voice, charms, and class. On top of that, Snow White was clearly the inspiration for Aria’s dress when she attended a fairytale-themed prom. What more does Disney need to make this happen?

This Kenyan-Mexican has already had a career to be proud of, winning an Oscar for her performance in “12 Years a Slave” and a Tony for her Broadway debut in “Eclipsed.” Through both of these productions, Nyong'o has demonstrated her ability to play multi-layered characters that must overcome trials and tribulations. As Tiana, she would not only bring great depth to the table, but plenty of warmth and spunk as well. Nyong'o is also an experienced voiceover actress, having played Raksha in Jon Favreau's “The Jungle Book” and Maz Kanata in “The Force Awakens.” So even in frog form, Nyong'o would make Tiana leap off the screen. Now if we could just get Jennifer Lawrence to play her outgoing BFF Charlotte La Bouff.

This Asian American actress is no stranger to Disney, having provided the voice of adrenaline junkie GoGo in “Big Hero 6.” What’s more, Chung has already played Mulan on the fantasy series “Once Upon a Time.” Chung hit just the right note as this unwavering warrior, maintaining a strong sense of honor while still having a sense of humor. Having held her own in action movies like “Sucker Punch,” Chung also has the grit and drive to take down a nasty villain like Shan Yu. Disney is currently developing a live-action “Mulan” remake, although as of October 2016 they’ve yet to cast a leading lady. As far as we’re concerned, however, they need look no further than Chung.

Even after Aurora falls into deep slumber, Lively would still light up the silver screen with her golden hair, rosy lips, and ageless face. In short, this casting choice sounds like a dream come true.
