(Billy Introduction)

#10: I Want to Break Free!

“Prison School” (2015)

While getting locked up and forced to obey the will of a particular violent group of busty school girls might sound like a dream for some, it wasn’t all sunshine and fanservice for Kiyoshi and the guys. Oh sure, the amount of random voluptuous encounters was off the scale, but when its paired with threats of expulsion and frequent physical humiliation, the glow from all those accumulative busts started to fade real fast. Thankfully, through the power of bromance and some last-minute luck, the guys were eventually rewarded their freedom, with their tormentors taking their place in the slammer.

#9: Virgin Power

“Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai” (2018)

While she certainly had issues when it came to her obsession with fitting in and knowing when to let go, Tomoe was still lovely girl, and most uncertainly undeserving of being bullied into a relationship by some jock. Enter Sakuta, who despite being on the wimpier side, manages to totally dismantle Tomoe's stalker. Standing up for your friend is one thing, but managing to take down a bully, lecture him about how much of a social disease he is AND proudly proclaim your virginity in front of strangers? The stones on this dude are astounding.

#8: Karasuno Takes Flight

“Haikyu!!” (2014-)

Deemed as the lowest of the low, the so-called flightless crows of Karasuno were forever painted as the underdogs of the high school volleyball world. However, with the arrival of its two newest members, it wasn’t long before the crows managed to soar one again, to the point where they found themselves taking on the giants of Shiratorizawa Academy. Considering they had the god-tier ace that is Ushijima as their opponent, it looked like Karasuno’s winning streak was about to come to an abrupt and painful end. At least until boys in orange kicked it into high gear, played their asses off, and managed to nail that final point.

#7: Getting His Win Back

“Chivalry of a Failed Knight” (2015)

There’s one in every anime. A cocky SOB hell-bent on making our hero’s life a misery. For this show look no further than Kirihara, the guy who will go to any lengths to get Ikki expelled from the Magical Academy and add his love interest Stella to his ever-growing harem. Fortunately redemption came for Ikki during the Selection exams, where the two finally faced off mano a mano…well sorta, Kirihara kinda turned invisible and attacked him like a coward. But Hey, that’s nothing a well-timed thrust of Ikki’s sword can’t fix – as the once proud fighter was reduced to a blubbering, begging mess.

#6: Magical Mic Drop

“Black Clover” (2017-)

Seriously, what is it with magic and privilege? Despite growing up dirt poor, the suave Yuno and loudmouthed Asta have never wavered in their desire to become the next Wizard King. As you can expect, without any kind of noble heritage, the two were faced with mountains of prejudice from the very start, which of course made it all the sweeter when they overcame all others to become two of the strongest next-gen magic knights. This was epitomised when their accomplishments were laid bare in front of the whole kingdom, shutting any naysayers up with a single display of their obscenely potent magical talents.

#5: Rising up the Ranks

“Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood” (2009-10)

For the longest time, the Flame Alchemist’s authority and plans to make real change for the military was derailed by a bunch of greedy old men with dreams of immortality. He may have lost his command, his best friend and even his eyesight at one point, but by the time the war with Father finally wrapped up, Roy Mustang was the one to rise up to the top of central as Brigadier General, fulfilling his dream of steering the world away from conflict. As for all those greedy old men, pretty sure they got chewed up by the Mannequin Soldiers. Good riddance.

#4: Snap

“One Piece” (1999-)

The atrocities committed against this archaeologist and her people was so horrendous that its likely she will never truly find justice. After all, the World Government burned down her home, killed her family and framed her as some-kind of monster, forcing her to go on the run while the rest of civilisation was deluded into despising her. Yeah, that shit’s pretty dark. Thankfully, there’s one silver lining; she had the sole pleasure of snapping the spine of the cowardly Navy commander who kidnapped and nearly executed her. There truly is nothing more relaxing than the sound of Spandam’s screams.

#3: Bogged Down

“Kaiji: Against All Rules” (2011)

No matter the stakes, no matter the probability, no matter just how many ways you try to rig things, there’s always the slightest chance lady luck will smile down on even the most hapless loser. Even Kaiji. Once against trapped in a do or die gamble, Kaiji is given one chance to free himself and his buddies from financial servitude. All he has to do is get past an infamous pachinko machine known as the Bog. Easier said than done when thanks to Seiya Ichijou, it can be remotely controlled to prevent players from winning. And yet, Kaiji manages to beat the odds, overloading the damn machine and winning the big one. Yeah, I can’t believe it either.

#2: Any Major Dude Will Tell You…Don’t Mess With Jotaro

“JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders” (2014-15)

While the lack of a certain unbreakable, perfectly haired, Stand User is a tad disappointing, watching the bad boy of the Joestar clan pound this lackey of Dio’s into a wall is oh so satisfying. Steely Dan, by all accounts, is a weapon’s grade douche by which all other villainous henchmen are judged. Not only did he try to use his Stand to kill Grandpa Joseph, he also forced Jotaro to follow him around and essentially be his whipping boy. As you can imagine, his comeuppance was extremely satisfying, resulting in more ORA ORA ORA’s than thought humanly possible.

#1: The Justice of the Shield Hero

“The Rising of the Shield Hero” (2019)

And it’s sweet, sweeeeeeeet, sweet victory~ After suffering every indignation imaginable, framed for the most heinous of crimes, portrayed as a literal devil, Shield Bro was finally given the justice he deserved when both Myne and the King were brought to trial. And it was glorious. Myne’s lies were stripped away one by one by means of a slave crest, their misdeeds laid bare for the kingdom to see, all before getting sentenced to death. While watching them lose their heads would have been morbidly delightful, Naofumi spared his tormentors’ lives at the last second, instead granting them a much more…fitting punishment.
