Top 10 Best Kisses of 2024
Welcome to MsMojo, and today we’re counting down our picks for the kisses on the big screen and small that defined our year. If you’re behind on your 2024 viewings, there will be spoilers ahead.
#10: Ana[a] & William’s Doorstep Kiss
“Upgraded” (2024)
Ana and William’s meet-cute doesn’t exactly go smoothly. Plus, given that their continued involvement in each other’s lives is based on a lie that spirals out of control, we expected turbulence ahead. Yet before all that, just as Ana’s truth is about to catch up with her, she makes a quick exit and ends up enjoying a night on the town with Will. The lead-up to their first kiss crackles with chemistry—romantic, tense, and full of playful teasing that keeps us hooked. Even Will’s wry British humor can’t cut through the steamy build-up. It’s the kind of electric moment that makes rom-coms irresistible. We also love her debrief with the hotel receptionist afterward.
#9: Rhaenyra & Mysaria’s Post-Confession Kiss
“House of the Dragon” (2022-)
With Mysaria now a trusted confidant to Rhaenyra, fans saw their bond deepen as they cemented their alliance. In the season two episode “Smallfolk,” during a vulnerable moment, Mysaria reveals her deep distrust of men—a confession that shifts their relationship. Rhaenyra responds with a comforting embrace that unexpectedly turns into a passionate kiss, catching fans by surprise. Interestingly, this moment wasn’t in the original script. According to Mysaria actor Sonoya Mizuno[b], Rhaenyra actor Emma D’Arcy suggested the kiss, believing it was a natural and emotionally fitting progression. While fans debated its meaning, it injected much-needed tension into the episode. Even after Rhaenyra’s abrupt exit, the charged energy of the scene continues to linger.
#8: Kelly & Cole’s “Very Real” Kiss
“Fly Me to the Moon” (2024)
In this movie, Scarlett Johansson plays Kelly Jones, a marketing expert with a past she’d rather keep under wraps. Tasked with sprucing up NASA’s image before a historic launch, she crosses paths with Cole Davis, the buttoned-up mission director played by Channing Tatum. Sparks fly, but just as their romance starts to take off, Kelly’s guilt over her role in a backup plan—a fake moon landing if things go south—threatens to ruin everything. When Kelly and Cole team up to save the mission, they also save their relationship. Their kiss in this moment isn’t just romantic—it’s raw, real, and essentially the first time Kelly (or Winnie) shows her true self. Hot, heartfelt, and unforgettable.
#7: Colt & Jody’s Movie Kiss
“The Fall Guy” (2024)
The thing about Colt and Jody is that they’re exes. Exes stuck working together on a movie set—he’s the stuntman, she’s the director. What could go wrong? When Colt is framed for a crime, they team up to clear his name. Apparently, nothing rekindles sparks between former lovers like high-stakes drama. During the movie’s climax, Colt delivers a heartfelt confession, which is dramatically interrupted. Even when he beats the odds to reach Jody, his decision to sneak up on her in an alien mask backfires spectacularly. But after he bares his soul and encourages her to keep chasing her dreams, Jody’s so moved she kisses him—and it’s chef’s kiss perfection.
#6: Penelope & Colin’s First Kiss
“Bridgerton” (2020-)
If “Bridgerton” does one thing flawlessly, it’s building romantic tension that leaves us swooning and glued to the screen. This season three storyline took that to new heights, focusing on Penelope and Colin—a long-awaited romance we couldn’t get enough of. Penelope, feeling isolated by her family and disheartened by her lackluster love life, finds an unexpected ally in Colin, who offers to help her find romance while quietly falling for her himself. The moment Penelope, at her lowest, asks Colin to kiss her is everything. Absolute fireworks. It left us flustered, hearts racing, and fully invested in their new chapter. It’s a moment that would keep our hearts pounding well into the new year.
#5: Tashi[c], Patrick & Art’s Hotel Room Kiss
“Challengers” (2024)
Told through a non-linear timeline, this story follows a love triangle between a tennis pro turned coach, her ex, and the man who becomes her husband, both also tennis players. Carnal tension peaks after both men, smitten with Tashi’s court skills, meet her at a party. The trio ends up in a hotel room where, after the drinks run dry, Tashi takes charge. Sitting between the two, she pulls each in for a steamy kiss, where the intensity builds second by second. Then, just as the heat reaches its peak, she abruptly calls it off. It’s like having a bucket of ice-cold water dumped on us—and honestly, after that scene, it’s exactly what we needed.
#4: Dexter & Emma’s French Kiss
“One Day” (2024)
This slow-burn relationship, based on David Nicholls’ novel, follows Emma and Dexter from their university graduation ball through years of near-misses. They have a close call in Greece and another in Paris, where a newly divorced Dexter tries to kiss Emma—only to learn she’s with someone else. Heartbroken, Dexter skips dinner with Emma and her new partner, but she comes after him. They’d been building to this moment for so long, and although they’d been intimate before, this was the kiss that changed everything. The one that showed the stars were finally aligning—the kind of kiss that makes you squeal with joy. Knowing how their story ends makes this moment even more meaningful.
#3: Agatha & Rio’s “Kiss of Death”
“Agatha All Along” (2024)
Agatha and Rio share a complex history filled with love, power, and darkness. While their past isn’t fully explored, it’s clear they were once deeply in love, though their relationship has been tainted by the Darkhold’s influence. In episode four, there’s a near kiss, but it’s not until the penultimate episode that fans get what they’ve been waiting for—though it comes with a dark twist. Rio embodies death, making this quite literally the “kiss of death” for Agatha. As Agatha makes the ultimate sacrifice to save Billy, she shares a final, intimate moment with Rio. The kiss is full of longing, love, and devastation. It’s a bittersweet moment as Agatha finally faces mortality.
#2: Hayes & Solène’s[d] First Kiss
“The Idea of You” (2024)
“The Idea of You” captivated audiences with its fresh take on an unconventional love story. Hayes and Solène meet at Coachella, where their chemistry is instant despite the age gap and different life paths. Solène is hesitant at first, but Hayes follows his heart. One afternoon at her home, she finally gives in, and they share a heated moment by the piano. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and their connection feels so real. While Solène still has her doubts, you can almost feel them fading with each kiss and touch. We were thinking about that kiss long after the film ended, and we’re pretty sure Solène was, too.
#1: Joanne & Noah’s First Kiss
“Nobody Wants This” (2024-)
The appeal of “Nobody Wants This” lies in its mix of humor, romance, and cultural exploration, offering a fresh take on the rom-com genre. Kristen Bell and Adam Brody have great chemistry, and the sharp, witty dialogue makes it a fun watch. Noah, a rabbi, and Joanne, an agnostic relationship podcaster, face the challenges of their different backgrounds. After sharing an evening together, they finally talk their relationship through—and what better way to seal the deal than with a kiss? It’s a tender, hopeful moment where all their differences seem to fade away. Even though they know it won’t be easy, that kiss shows they’re ready to make every moment count.
If 2024 had to be summed up in one TV or movie kiss, which would it be?
