Top-10-Celeb-Couples-Who-Starred-in-Hallmark-Movies-Together

Welcome to MsMojo, and today we’re counting down our picks for couples in Hallmark movies who became or already were couples in real life.

#10: Jocelyn Hudon[a] & Jake Manley

“Love in the Maldives[b]” (2023)

Jocelyn Hudon and Jake Manley may not have a Hallmark meet cute, per say, but the way they met is rather sweet. The two shared a self-tape coach and were also with the same acting agent. They ended up attending a party hosted by their agent together and, as Hudon says, they’ve been together ever since. Five years down the line, Manley would propose and, three years after that, the two would be cast in “Love in the Maldives”, a 2023 Hallmark travel romance. Hudon plays Rae, a writer who visits the Maldives for work, while Manley plays the resort’s experience director.

#9: Rachel Hendrix & Daniel Stine

“Midway to Love” (2019)

These two first connected on the set of “Virginia Minnesota” in 2016, a movie that Stine also wrote and directed. They later tied the knot in 2019, the same year that their joint Hallmark effort was released. While Rachel Hendrix and Daniel Stine may not be high school sweethearts, their characters in “Midway to Love” are! In typical Hallmark fashion, this movie sees the lead return to her hometown, where she runs into who else but an old flame? Since then, Hendrix and Stine have ventured into parenthood with the birth of their son, Harbour.

#8: Katie Cassidy & Stephen Huszar[c]

“A Royal Christmas Crush” (2023)

Katie Cassidy and Stephen Huszar have actually starred in a few overlapping projects before they got together. “Supernaural” fans will recognize Cassidy as season three’s Ruby. What they may not know is that Huszar also appeared in the show, twice in small roles. Katie Cassidy is also known as Laurel Lance in DC’s “Arrow” and “The Flash”, while Huszar played Plunder in the latter series. It was on the set of 2023’s “A Royal Christmas Crush” where they met and, coincidentally, where they fell in love. Now, that is a Hallmark romance if we’ve ever heard one.

#7: Colin Donnell & Patti Murin[d]

“Love on Iceland” (2020) & “To Catch a Spy” (2021)

Colin Donnell gained recognition for his role as Tommy Merlyn in season one of “Arrow”, as well as Dr. Connor Rhodes in “Chicago Med”. Also a “Chicago Med” alum is his now-wife Patti Murin, who played Dr. Nina Shore. The two are also Broadway favorites, which is actually what brought them together after they starred alongside each other in the musical adaptation of “Love’s Labour’s Lost”. It wasn’t until 2020, however, that Donnell and Murin would appear in a television film together. They were cast in both “Love on Iceland” as well as the 2021 “To Catch a Spy”. Funnily enough, however, they weren’t a romantic pairing in either movie. Here’s hoping a third time’s the charm!

#6: Chris McNally & Julie Gonzalo

“The Sweetest Heart” (2018) & “3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Ghost” (2023)

Chris McNally & Julie Gonzalo first hit it off during production of Hallmark’s “The Sweetest Heart”, released in 2018. Although the couple has mostly kept their relationship private, Gonzalo has described McNally as a “wonderful person and a terrific actor”, saying that things were easy with him. It was after welcoming their first child in 2022 that the pair once again had the opportunity to co-star in a Hallmark production, this time in “3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Ghost”.

#5: Kayla Wallace & Kevin McGarry[e]

“Feeling Butterflies” (2022) & “My Grown-Up Christmas List” (2022)

Kayla Wallace and Kevin McGarry’s romance began sometime around 2018 after they worked together on the staple Hallmark Channel show “When Calls the Heart”. They were well past “feeling butterflies” when they were cast as the romantic leads in 2022’s “Feeling Butterflies” and “My Grown-Up Christmas List”, released the same year. By that point, they were engaged, much to the excitement of fans of the network, who could certainly feel their palpable chemistry through the screen. In 2024, the spouses took to social media to share a sweet photo of their wedding, aptly captioned “Just McGarried”.

#4: Victor Webster & Shantel VanSanten

“Love Blossoms” (2017)

Yet another couple who met while filming, Victor Webster & Shantel VanSanten dated for four years before getting engaged in 2021. Although they were just friends at first, with VanSanten even helping Webster with his dating life, it wasn’t long before something more was kindled between the two. It made watching “Love Blossoms” all the more heartwarming knowing that love really did blossom on set. The movie follows Violet, a perfume maker’s daughter who tries to complete the formula of a perfume her father left behind after his passing. She’s helped along by Webster’s character, a botanist with a highly sensitive nose. Unfortunately, just as love blooms, it sometimes wilts, and the pair divorced in 2023.

#3: Meghan Ory[f] & John Reardon

“Believe in Christmas” (2024)

While these two have been married since 2008, it was only in 2024 that they would star in a Hallmark movie together. They first connected on “Merlin’s Apprentice” in 2006, a miniseries that aired on the Hallmark Channel. Since then, Meghan Ory has become known for her role as Ruby in “Once Upon a Time”, while John Reardon has gained recognition for “Hudson & Rex”, a police procedural drama his wife would also guest star on. After tying the knot and expanding their family, Meghan Ory and John Reardon would finally get to play a romantic pairing in Hallmark’s “Believe in Christmas”.

#2: Eric Winter & Roselyn Sánchez[g]

“A Taste of Summer” (2019)

Eric Winter & Roselyn Sánchez were wed and had started their family long before they entered the roles of Caleb and Gabby in “A Taste of Summer”. The spouses met in 2005 and officially tied the knot in 2008. They would later welcome two children, their daughter in 2012, and their son in 2017. Winter is primarily known for portraying Tim Bradford on ABC’s “Rookie” and you may recognize Sánchez from “Devious Maids” and “Rush Hour 2”. It was 2019’s “A Taste of Summer”, however, that marked their first onscreen collaboration.

#1: Carlos & Alexa PenaVega[h]

“Never Too Late to Celebrate” (2023) & “Love in the Limelight” (2023)

Possibly the most immediately-recognizable couple to be featured on the Hallmark Channel, Carlos & Alexa PenaVega have been in a few of the network’s projects. You’ll know them from the “Picture Perfect Mysteries” series, as well as two films put out in 2023. “Never Too Late to Celebrate” follows a dentist and a Spanish teacher as they plan a thirtieth birthday quinceañera.[i] Meanwhile, “Love in the Limelight” explores what happens when two long-time pen pals, one of whom happens to be famous, finally meet in person. Parenthetically[j], Carlos and Alexa competed on season 21 of “Dancing with the Stars”, making history as the first married couple to do so. The PenaVega duo seems to take on all of their joint efforts with passion and dedication, so we can’t wait to see what’s next from them.

Which couple were you excited to find out were actually together in real life? Let us know down in the comments.
