#10: Hugh Hefner

For a man who spends his days surrounded by beautiful women, it’s amazing he didn’t have kids sooner. While the self-made millionaire did have children with his first wife during his twenties, Hefner decided to focus less on parenting and more on partying after founding “Playboy” in the 1950s. As he got older, Hefner decided to settle down, and married Playmate Kimberley Conrad in 1989. The couple had two sons, Marston and Cooper, despite the fact that the original Playboy was well into his 60s at the time. To his credit, Hef tried to keep his sons away from his parties, but that didn’t stop them from trying to sneak in anyway.

#9: Larry King

Every King needs an heir. This TV and radio host is infamous for his multiple marriages, having been married eight times to seven different women – we’ll let you work out the math on that one. Across all those marriages, he’s fathered five different children. Want some more impressive numbers? Of those five children, his latest two kids, Chance and Cannon, were born when King was 65 and 66 respectively. In his early eighties in the mid-2010s, King keeps busy hosting several different talk shows, interviewing important people from around the world. At the end of the day, though, we think his favorite interview subjects are his kids.

#8: Clint Eastwood

Given that he’s got at least seven children, this Hollywood legend needs to ask himself one question: Does he feel lucky? With a personal life that’s as convoluted as it is private, it’s hard to keep track of all of Eastwood’s romantic partners, let alone his kids. That being said, the tough guy actor/director has had at least four children since he entered his 50s, including Scott Eastwood, who’s looking to follow in his father’s footsteps as a macho movie star, and most recently Morgan Eastwood, who was born when her father was 66. Recently, Papa Eastwood’s been too busy directing films to father any children, but even at 86 years old in 2016, we still wouldn’t put it past him.

#7: Steve Martin

This “wild and crazy” guy has led a remarkably low-key personal life, especially for a celebrity. Despite being married twice, the actor/comedian/magician/banjo player became a first-time father at the ripe age of 67, when he had a daughter with his wife Anne Stringfield, a writer for the New Yorker. Impressively, Martin and Stringfield initially kept their daughter’s name a secret, in order to keep her out of the public eye. In the age of Instagram, TMZ and Kardashians, you’ve got to respect a celebrity that just wants to raise their child without the constant probing of tabloids and paparazzi. Then again, we expect nothing less from the star of “Parenthood”.

#6: Robert De Niro

Being a dad was an offer he couldn’t refuse. An actor most famous for playing violent, unhinged gangsters, de Niro is much nicer in his personal life, and is a father to six children. His youngest, Helen Grace, was born via a surrogate mother in 2011, when the star was 68 years old. De Niro and his wife Grace Hightower also have an 18-year-old son named Elliot, who has been diagnosed with autism. Despite his terrifying on-screen roles, with a list that includes Frankenstein’s monster and the Devil himself, de Niro has shown himself to be a caring father, and always makes time for his kids. He really is a good fella.

#5: Charlie Chaplin

Fatherhood was no laughing matter to this comedy legend. Chaplin, who starred in over eighty films and shorts in his lifetime, had several children with his fourth wife Oona, whom he married when she was only 18 years old. Despite the 36-year age difference, the two were deeply in love, and they remained together up until Chaplin’s death, having 8 kids in the process. The youngest child, Christopher Chaplin, was born when his dad was a whopping 73 years old. Chaplin may be best known as his character “The Tramp”, but after settling down with his big new family, he was anything but.

#4: George Lucas

He may be a scruffy-looking nerf-herder, but the creator of “Star Wars” is also a great dad. Lucas is the adoptive father of three children, all of whom had cameos in the “Star Wars” prequel films. However, the famous director had his first biological child with wife Mellody Hobson when he was 69. Their daughter, Everest, was born via a surrogate mother, and celebrated her 3rdbirthday in 2016. While Lucas is old enough to be her grandfather, he has plenty of time to spend with her now that the “Star Wars” franchise is owned by Disney. Besides, there are way worse fathers in the galaxy…

#3: Rupert Murdoch

The creator of FOX News, media mogul Murdoch has had six children over the years, and that’s not including the stepchildren he has with current wife, former supermodel Jerry Hall. Murdoch’s youngest kids, Grace and Chloe, were born when Murdoch was with his previous wife Wendi Deng, who was less than half his age. At the time, Murdoch was in his early 70s. He would go on to marry ex-model Jerry Hall in 2016 just a few days before his 85th birthday and become the stepdad to 4 of Mick Jagger’s kids.

#2: Tony Randall

Best known for playing Felix, the neater half of TV’s “Odd Couple”, this renowned actor and director is one of the latest blooming dads on the list. After his first wife, Florence Gibbs, passed away, Randall married Heather Harlan, who was 50 years his junior. The couple had two children, the first of which was born when Randall was 77. Unfortunately, he passed away before they even graduated elementary school, leaving them in the care of their mother. The age gap may have made them an Odd Couple, but Randall and Harlan were extraordinary parents.

Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.

Warren Beatty
Father at 63

Billy Joel
Father at 66

Luciano Pavarotti
Father at 68

#1: Mick Jagger

The Rolling Stones are one of the longest lasting rock bands in history. They still go on tour, despite the fact that most of the band members are well into their 70s. Age hasn’t slowed them down one bit, both as musicians and as parents. Recently, guitarist Ronnie Wood welcomed twins into his family a few days before he turned 69 (x-ref). But even more impressive is Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, who was expecting his eighth child with 29-year-old girlfriend Melanie Hamrick at the age of 73 in 2016. Despite being busy with touring, Jagger has promised to visit the baby when it’s born. With eight kids to look after, the aging rock star seems to have finally got some satisfaction as a father.
