Gamers be warned; this video may contain cuteness overloaded, because these are the absolute CUTEST video games! From “Kirby: Squeak Squad”, to “Nintendogs”, this list looks at games that, whether it's through their music, charm, or overall atmosphere, succeed in making us smile…or simply making us go “Awwww”! Join MsMojo as we count down our picks for the Top 10 Cutest Video Games.

#10: “Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector” (2014)

Sometimes you don’t need elaborate levels, puzzles or designs to create a cuteness phenomenon. If YouTube’s popularity anything to go by; all you need are cute cats. Basically this game requires you to place kitty toys in your backyard and snap pictures of the cute little furballs as they play around. Just its cuteness factor alone allowed the game to become extremely popular worldwide despite only initially being available in Japanese in its first year on the market. Just goes to show how powerful cute cats are that they can break language barriers. BOW BEFORE YOUR KITTY OVERLORDS!

#9: “Kirby: Squeak Squad” (2006)

The 10 BEST Kirby Games

This has to be Kirby’s cutest game to date! And that’s saying a lot. Kirby himself might be downright adorable, but what should happen when you throw mice into the mix – OH GOODNESS, NINTENDO WENT AND DID IT!! We understand these mice are our enemies, but why do they have to be this cute?! We’re so used to watching Kirby gobble up swordsmen, fireballs, and electric…whatever those are, but when these mice have stubby arms and squeak, its…its hard to kill them, man. We can’t! We just can’t! Moving on!

#8: “Ōkamiden” (2010)

“Okami” was a masterpiece. Hands down, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. And Amaterasu has been repeatedly named one of the most badass characters in gaming. So, how could this sequel enhance the experience?? *gasp* By giving us a puppy!! Look at those paws!...*ahem*…Sorry. This puppy is still a Celestial Brush God, and we shall respect the pup as such…no matter how badly we want to boop that cute nose. All in all, “Okamiden” excels in many of the same ways its predecessor did, but without feeling like a retread, and the extra dose of “awwwww” is more than fine with us. Puppies for the win!!

#7: “Pikmin” (2001)

The 10 HARDEST Pikmin Bosses

Olimar is cute (in his own weird way), but the real stars of “Pikmin” are…well, the Pikmin! Their overall design is what makes the game so adorable, from their short stature and distinctive anatomy to their speech and generally friendly behavior. It’s kind of endearing to see such helpful beings! And you’ll come across even more cute creatures (again, in their own weird ways) as you journey across the mysterious planet, like the Bulborbs. Make sure you keep track of your Pikmin, though. It’s depressing to hear their cries of distress when they’re being attacked. Of course, even in death they can’t help but be cute. Have you ever seen such an adorable ghost?

#6: “Animal Crossing: New Leaf” (2013)

Top 10 Craziest Things People Have Done in Animal Crossing

The “Animal Crossing” franchise is well known for its calm and happy environment. You could almost call it “therapeutic”. The game boasts a wide cast of colorful characters that will move in and out of your neighborhood on occasion. Your residents may include a deer, a dog, a rabbit, a koala, an eagle, a duck, the list goes on! And their babble talk may come across annoying (or demonic) to some, but with the right characters, it’s gosh darn cute. And the better you get to know them, the more endearing they tend to become.

#5: “A Hat In Time” (2017)

Also in:

Top 20 Most Difficult Video Games of All Time

Described on it’s own storefront page as “A cute-as-heck 3D platformer”. A Hat in Time is a love letter to fans of 3D platformers such as “Super Mario 64” & “Spyro The Dragon”, Albeit with “Hat Kid”; one of the most adorable protagonist's the genre has ever seen. It’s not just the fact that she can play pattycake with members of the mafia, has a designated smooch button, makes adorable sounds like “BOOP” & “BLAMO!” on a whim, or even her “cute-as-heck” outfit. But the whole world is filled with memorable and cutesy moments that we’d be stuck here all day if we named them all. Or you know, you can just spend the whole game riding on a roomba.

#4: “LittleBigPlanet” (2008)

PlayStation icon Sackboy is charming and funny with his wild expressions, innocent demeanor, and occasional mischief. But, “LittleBigPlanet” doesn’t make the list on his shoulders alone. The atmosphere of this unique franchise, in general, is just sort of infectiously happy. Its soundtrack gives off some seriously positive vibes, and the overall tone of the game makes you want to explore and play. Add in a light-hearted sense of humor and the ability to excessively use stickers, and “LittleBigPlanet” is one of the most charming experiences in the PlayStation family.

#3: “Nintendogs” (2005)

PUPPIES!!...*ahem*…Excuse us. “Nintendogs” lets you train and play with your very own virtual dog. And that’s all you need to know. It’s a game of nothing but puppies! And who doesn’t love puppies? It doesn’t hold every breed of dog, but the variety is enough to satisfy most dog lovers. You got Dalmatians, chihuahuas, dachshunds, pugs, boxers, poodles, and more. The best part in all of this? The dogs NEVER age! They are and will forever be puppies! If you’re looking for more than just dogs, the series did introduce cats when it debuted on the Nintendo 3DS with “Nintendogs + Cats”. So, if you need more pets in your life, look no further. Aww! Look at them paw at the screen!

#2: “Slime Rancher” (2017)

We could tell you to just watch the footage, but that wouldn’t be much fun, would it? “Slime Rancher” tasks you with managing your own farm of slimes, using a vacuum-like tool to collect them. There’s a certain innocence that gives the game its charm. Watching the slimes bounce around and interact with you and each other is endlessly entertaining to watch. There’s even an achievement for letting a Tabby Slime boop you! Dawwwww! Try not to let the cuteness distract you for too long, or else the Tarr creatures might make things a little nightmarish…and tear-jerking. Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few adorable honorable mentions: “Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime” (2015) “Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker” (2014) “The Swords of Ditto” (2018) - hide quoted text - “Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom” (2018) “Joggernauts” (2018)

#1: “Yoshi’s Wooly World” (2015)

Top 10 Yoshi Video Games

Okay, we understand Kirby did the whole yarn thing first. And don't get us wrong, it was adorable! However, Yoshi just pulls it off in an extra adorable way. Just look at his stubby little arms and fuzzy feet! Yoshi has been insanely cute before, but, Nintendo…this is overkill, what with the dances he does and his propeller jumps. And it doesn’t stop with the character; the game’s cheery music and colorful worlds are guaranteed to put a smile on your face. You can even unlock outfits for Yoshi based on other Nintendo properties…well, if you have one of those precious Wool Yoshi amiibos.
