#10: Enter Kefla

“Dragon Ball Super” (2015-18)
Some girls just want to have fun. Caulifla and Kale want to kick your head in.
As the first female Super Saiyans of the franchise, not only did these two shake the series’ foundations, but they also stood tall as Universe 6’s strongest warriors. By themselves, they were already powerhouses, but then they stepped things up when they used the potara to fuse together; creating Kelfa. How strong is she? Goku was forced to bust out Ultra Instinct in order to stand a chance at defeating her…

9: Two 17s Are Better Than One

“Dragon Ball GT”(1996-97)
Yeah, we know, not everyone’s is a fan of GT, but at least it gave us some cool “what-ifs”.
As it happens, when you add two 17s together, you don’t get 34, you get a killing machine that takes the Z Fighters to town. A combination of the original Android 17 with his hellish clone, Super 17 certainly made an impact when he started wrecking shit up. He even took a Final Shine to the face and brushed it off like it was nothing.

8: The Super Namekian Is Born

“Dragon Ball Z” (1989-96)
He may not be a Saiyan, but the son of the Demon King has held his own against a fair few major villains that the series has thrown at him. But unlike his Saiyan team mates was a little lacking when it comes to transformations. Thankfully, in order to stand a chance against Cell and the rest of the androids, Piccolo got a much-needed power boost when Kami allowed himself to be fused with him. Yep, he literally absorbed God. It may not come with glowing blonde hair, but it was still pretty damned cool to see our favorite Namekian get a chance to shine again.

#7: Saiyan Versus Dragon

“Dragon Ball GT” (1996-97)
Probably the best thing to come out of GT was the introduction of Super Saiyan 4. Yeah, it traded in golden locks for pink fur but still! So, you can probably imagine out excited when we saw both Goku and Vegeta fuse while in their strongest forms. His appearance may have been brief, but seeing a Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta beat the crap out of Omega Shenron was oh so cathartic. Plus it gave us the Big Bang Kamehameha, three words we didn’t know we needed to see together.

#6: Back in Blue

“Dragon Ball Super” (2015-18)
If you’re going up against a monstrous mesh like Fusion Zamasu, then you’re going to have to bring your A-Game. While not as spectacular as his original appearance, it’s still awesome to see Vegito make a grand return in order to take on his godly foe. Of course, the real kicker here is that he’s bringing that Super Saiyan Blue look with him. The scuffle maybe short but seeing him blast through the deadly duo was still good enough for us.

#5: Piccolo Gets PUMPED

“Dragon Ball Z” (1989-96)
Their power-levels may have been vastly different, but Piccolo managed to get in a few good blows on the alien tyrant, Freiza, mainly due to this fusion. After arriving on Namek, Piccolo encounters the dying warrior Nail, who agrees to sync with him in order to stand a chance against the being that slaughtered their entire race. And he wasn’t lying.
Piccolo, now empowered, delivers a motivational speech that’ll get you believing he can actually take on the threat in front of him.

#4: The “Hero of Justice” is Born

“Dragon Ball Z” (1989-96)
This one might be the first thing that comes to your head when you hear the word “fusion”. In order to defeat Majin Buu, Trunks and Goten go through rigorous training into order to perfect their new form, which would later be come to known Gotenks; the biggest smartass of a Saiyan to ever live. Sure, there are a few failed attempts along the way but eventually the two master their fusion, leading to the much-anticipated showdown against the pink menace.

#3: Once Again With Feeling

“Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn” (1995)
As soon as it became clear that any character could attempt fusion as long as they perfected that crazy dance, we all thought the same thing; what would happen if Goku and Vegeta tried it? Well the answer to that would be a brand new character whose personality may not be that far removed from Vegito, but has power in absolute spades. Faced with the threat of the demonic Janemba, the two Saiyans follow in their sons’ footsteps and manage to fuse together, much to Vegeta’s chagrin. But hey, you can’t argue with results!

#2: Zamasu’s Reckoning

“Dragon Ball Super” (2015-18)
Just when you thought the combined threats of Zamasu and Goku Black couldn’t get any worse, they go and pull a stunt like this. While this new form grants him immense power, this fusion of the future and present Zamasu into one body resulted in the creation of a monster built on arrogance and obsession. Content with his new form, the villain begins to rain down judgement in a manner suiting his new omnipotent form.

#1: The Ultimate Saiyan

“Dragon Ball Z” (1989-96)
By this point we were pretty sure that Super Buu was almost unstoppable. He had slaughtered legions of people and had absorbed the planet’s strongest fighters; including Gotenks, Piccolo and Gohan. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t count on two eternal rivals putting aside their differences in order to fuse together. Now as Vegito, this newly formed Saiyan proceeded to pound Buu into pink sludge. He was so strong that Buu couldn’t handle him even after they had been turned into candy. If not for that last minute absorption, we’re pretty sure Vegito could have ended things then and there.
