And this is why we take the pacifist route. Welcome to WatchMojo and today we are counting down our picks for the Top 10 Most Feared Fighters in Anime.

For this list, we'll be looking at the warriors in anime who strike fear into the hearts of the masses just by name alone. Whether that reputation is warranted or not is another matter entirely.
Top 10 Most Feared Fighters in Anime And this is why we take the pacifist route. Welcome to WatchMojo and today we are counting down our picks for the Top 10 Most Feared Fighters in Anime. For this list, we’ll be looking at the warriors in anime who strike fear into the hearts of the masses just by name alone. Whether that reputation is warranted or not is another matter entirely.

#10: Thorkell

“Vinland Saga” (2019) Most Vikings are bloodthirsty, battle-hardened individuals who thrive in the midst of combat, but even the toughest collectively crap themselves when Thorkell the Tall steps into the fray. Not only does he tower over them in terms of size and strength, but the sheer enjoyment he exhibits when he slaughters his way through an army is just unsettling. There’s nothing Thorkell loves more than to find a battlefield, ready his axes, and get to chopping! Doesn’t matter if he loses an eye or some fingers, as long as he can keep on fighting, nothing will stop this man!

#9: Fang

“Kengan Ashura” (2019) When it comes to these death matches, everyone’s got favourites to bet on, and while the recent additions have certainly shaken things up, the golden boy of the tournament remains Kanoh Agito, otherwise known as Fang. Why? Because the guy is an absolute monster. Fang is already a master fighter that can take down most opponents. With barely any effort required. However, if someone manages to flick his trigger, the people’s champ lets his twisted persona out the bag – a grinning behemoth that can adapt to any fighting style instantaneously. Those that survive his barrages not only wake up with their bones broken, but also their spirit.

#8: King

“One-Punch Man” (2015-) Sure, we all know he’s a massive fraud that lucked his way to the status of world’s mightiest mortal, but the rest of hero society doesn’t! Thanks to a series of fortunate events, (or unfortunate if you ask King) this hulking figure has risen to such a degree that he strikes fear into the hearts of villains by reputation alone, forever stigmatising him in a state of perpetual risk, knowing full well that all it takes is one cocky monster or a citizen with half a brain to realise he’s a walking con. Until then, he makes for quite the deterrent.

#7: Yujiro Hanma

“Baki” series (2001-18) This man isn’t so much a fighter as he is a force of nature. A force of nature with a malicious heart that won’t hesitate to slaughter anyone who challenges him, whether it be entire militias, death row convicts, you name it. Kind of easy to see why Baki might have a complicated relationship with his father. His parenting skills may be on the questionable side, but what can’t be denied is just how much of a beast Yujiro is, to the point where stopping an earthquake just by punching the ground is just another Wednesday.

#6: Nosferatu Zodd

“Berserk” (1997-98) Probably not the best idea to tussle with someone known far and wide as the Immortal. Even in his humanoid form, Zodd is terrifying. A hulking mass of muscle and murder that wanders from battlefield to battlefield, rendering lives, all in the vague hope of finding a worthy opponent. If you manage to somehow survive and meet his challenge, you’ll then be rewarded with looking upon his true Apostle form – that of a demonic, winged bull capable of trampling the Band of the Hawk with ease. Guts should count what lucky stars he had left that Zodd caught sight of that Behelit and decided to bolt when he did, otherwise he’d be nothing more than a stain on Zodd’s hoof.

#5: Kenshin Himura

Also in:

Anime Duel: Roronoa Zoro Vs Himura Kenshin

“Rurouni Kenshin” (1996-98) They don’t call him the Manslayer for nothing! While he’s since abandoned his old mantle in order to atone for the killings he committed during the war, Kenshin’s blood-stained legacy is not so easily forgotten, especially with his signature ‘x’ shaped scar serving as a constant reminder. While he has no shortage of foes eager to remove his head and earn a bit of infamy for themselves, all still live in the shadow of his murderous deeds. Even when using the non-lethal reverse blade, Kenshin’s skills remain top notch, more than living up to the legend.

#4: Dio Brando

Also in:

Anime Duel: Alucard vs Dio Brando

“JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” (2012-) His inhumanity was enough to scare the almighty Speedwagon, his murderous presence made Avdol high tail it out of Egypt, his intimidation factor is so god tier that Hol Horse was too scared to pull the trigger on him even as his back was turned. So yeah, Lord Dio knows how to scare the crap out of people. And that’s all before he starts chowing down on them with his vampiric desires or stopping time with the power of The World. Good thing the men of the Joestar family don’t frighten easily.

#3: Acnologia

“Fairy Tail” (2009-) When even Zeref is afraid of you, you know you’ve got the fear factor. The Dragon of the Apocalypse is capable of such devastation that he nearly brought the whole world to an end, forced the residents of Fairy Tail to take a seven-year hiatus, and generally makes the populace flee in panic at the mere mention of his name. The self-imposed Dragon King is not one to be taken likely, just look at all the corpses he’s left behind on his mindless trail of vengeance!

#2: Kaido

“One Piece” (1999-) There are a lot of terrifying pirates out there, but next to the King of Beasts, all look like children by comparison. Seemingly incapable of dying no matter how hard he tries, the sheer scale of this guy is enough to make any cocky Captain consider a career change, and that’s all before he starts swinging his iron club or unleashing that crazy Devil Fruit of his. Unless you want to see him turn into a dragon and literally bring the thunder, we suggest you move to the next continent over when he comes to town.

#1: Beerus

“Dragon Ball” franchise (1986-) There are certainly many above his station, but out of all the Gods of Destruction, none have managed to bring quite as much dread as this wicked kitty. With his volatile nature going hand in hand with his duty to bust planets, Beerus is a walking bomb ready to go off unless he’s satiated with some of that sweet Earth food. Even a prideful man like Vegeta was willing to abandon Saiyan custom in order to try and appease the doomsday cat in case he decided to Hakai the Earth! Be sure to walk on eggshells around this one.
