Don’t spend all your coin at once, though, as you’ll have to upgrade your boxer’s stats if you want to test your mettle against stronger opponents!

Players can take various robots on in matches while only worrying about two basic buttons, a special move button, and of course, movement. Dish out the pain “Rock ‘Em, Sock ‘Em Robot” style and end every match with a finishing move that’s sure to decapitate your foe...every...single...time! It’s also amazing how the robots within this game boast a bit more personality and unique visuals than the films, but that’s a discussion for another time. If you want a fighting game that lets you mash buttons and look cool doing it, “World Robot Boxing 2” will be more than satisfying.

While it is clearly inspired by other fighting game franchises such as “Street Fighter”, “Final Fighter” manages to distinguish itself from other titles by sticking to core fighting game mechanics. Nothing too fancy going on here but old-fashioned arcade-like brawling! Adding to its unique style and attitude is the diverse cast of characters that may come off as a tad trope-y, but it’s far from obnoxious, and we even found ourselves a little invested in learning about other characters. Whether you’re a casual or hardcore fan, there’s plenty of fun to be had in “Final Fighter”, and yes, we’re even giving props to the story mode!
#3: “Footsies” (2018)
It isn’t everyday you come across a mobile game that can be played by two players on the same screen. The same can be said about an incredibly basic, yet addictive fighting game like “Footsies”! Two players must try to chicken each other into getting close enough to land a hit...which is easier said than done. Despite only being a three-button game, there’s more complexity than meets the eye as you have ways to close in on your rival, trick them into attacking first, and even possibly skating by with an easy KO! Each match is as tense as the last, and it never gets old. Oh, and you don’t have to worry about forking over money - the game is free!
#2: “Dragon Ball Legends” (2018)

Given how the “Dragon Ball” games present themselves in the same extreme and over-the-top manner as the anime and manga, one would think a phone would melt just trying to run a “Dragon Ball” game. On the contrary, “Dragon Ball Legends” achieves the same graphical quality as the console titles with detailed, cel-shaded graphics. It’s worth mentioning that this isn’t some half-assed adaptation of a pre-existing storyline. This is an original story with some brand new characters thrown into the mix. In other words, it’s a completely different game that any fan will come to love.

It isn’t the number one fighting game on the App Store for nothing! When we gave the mobile version of “Skullgirls” a whirl, it was just as insanely fun as its console and PC counterparts and offered a progression and upgrade system that kept us coming back. Duke it out with a colorful cast of characters and upgrade their abilities through skill trees and equippable abilities. Each character plays differently, and you can pull off some insane combos with a few taps and swipes. “Skullgirls” doesn’t overload you with a complicated system either as the tutorial only takes a couple of minutes before sending you on your way. Seriously, if you have any interest in fighting games, this is the perfect one to play!
