Top 10 SpongeBob Villains of All Time

Long before Po became the Dragon Warrior, a demonic dragon named Ke-Pa led an army of demons that threatened to destroy China. He was defeated when Oogway channeled the powers of a magical peach tree to seal the villain inside the body of a regular pig. But when that plant died, Ke-Pa was freed once more. The demonic dragon destroyed the Jade Palace, defeated the Furious Five, and was willing to unleash his army upon the world. Fortunately, Po defeated him with a little help from a peach sapling. But Ke-Pa’s near victory and serious fighting ability made him a threat that our favorite panda won’t soon forget.

#8: Lasombra “Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie” (2017)

Arnold spent most of his childhood wondering what happened to his parents when they traveled to Central America. After miraculously winning a trip there, his parent’s friend Eduardo promises to give the football head answers. But it’s all lies. It’s later revealed that Eduardo is really a pirate named Lasombra. He secretly lured Arnold to Central America as part of a plan to steal treasures from native people. Although Lasombra knows where Arnold’s parents are, he never cared if the kid found them. The ruthless Lasombra was willing to lie, kidnap, and steal in his pursuit of a fortune. His single-minded treasure hunt eventually leads to his demise. Fortunately, his evil actions paved the way for Arnold to reunite with his parents.

#7: Zaheer “The Legend of Korra” (2012-14)

In “Legend of Korra’s” first season, the twisted Amon only wanted to take away Korra’s bending. Two seasons later, Zaheer broke out of jail to take everything from the avatar. Zaheer was a man who believed that the world would be better off if no one was in charge. He despised rulers, governments, and the Avatar most of all. After failing to kidnap Korra when she was a child, Zaheer used his newly acquired airbending skills to hurt or eliminate the adult Avatar’s allies. And he nearly succeeded in ending the Avatar Cycle permanently by poisoning Korra with mercury. Although she eventually got the better of Zaheer, his actions left her with mental scars that took years to recover from.

#6: Nevel Amadeus Papperman “iCarly” (2007-12)

If you become successful on the internet, you’re bound to run into a few internet trolls. After the iCarly show became popular, a young critic named Nevel Papperman became its biggest online enemy. After Carly rejects his creepy advances, he spends the rest of the show trying to destroy her. Nevel hacks iCarly’s website, gives the show unfairly negative reviews, and even tries to get Carly beaten up by an MMA fighter. His obsession with ruining their show is only eclipsed by his desire to own a haberdashery to sell men’s accessories. Given that Nevel has repeatedly failed to take iCarly down, this quirky villain would be better off directing his energy into starting his business instead of tangling with Carly’s crew.

#5: Angelica Pickles “Rugrats” (1991-2004)

Also in:

Top 10 Worst Things Angelica Pickles Has Done On Rugrats

She’s the scariest three-year-old you’ll ever meet. Angelica Pickles is a toddler who spends the majority of her time tormenting her younger cousins and friends. The spoiled girl loves to mess with the babies and manipulate the adults into getting her way. Although she didn’t have any superpowers or an army of minions to do her bidding, her mean personality and harsh words left us absolutely terrified as kids. Despite Angelica’s numerous negative qualities, she was always willing to help the babies when push came to shove. But she’d always return to her ruthless ways before they could get too used to her being nice. Although Angelica mellowed out a little as a teenager, we’ll always remember her as a vicious toddler.

#4: Denzel Crocker “The Fairly OddParents” (2001-17)

Although Vicky made Timmy’s life a living nightmare on a regular basis, at least she didn’t dedicate her life to taking his fairy godparents away. That dubious honor goes to crazed teacher Denzel Crocker. After losing his fairies at a young age, he became obsessed with exposing the magical creatures to the world. When Crocker isn’t using his arsenal of anti-magical weapons to try to capture fairies, he’s torturing students and doing his best to flunk Timmy out of school. Although the teacher comes off as spacey and awkward, he’s proven to be a credible threat numerous times. He’s kidnapped Timmy’s parents, nearly exposed Cosmo & Wanda, and conquered the Fairy World. Crocker’s wicked successes prove you can’t turn your back on this insane teacher.

#3: Vladimir "Vlad" Masters [aka Vlad Plasmius] “Danny Phantom” (2004-07)

When Vlad Plasmius was in college, an accident turned him into a half-ghost human hybrid. Instead of using his powers for good, he used his ghostly abilities to get rich and ruin his enemies’ lives. Vlad’s biggest target is the teenage Danny Phantom. If the villain isn’t beating up his rival himself, he’s sending ghosts or hunters to do the dirty work for him. And if that’s not bad enough, Vlad loves hitting on Danny’s mom. The villain’s sheer power, wit, and conceited personality made him an incredibly dangerous foe. Vlad nearly allowed the earth to be hit by a meteor as part of a scheme to get richer. If it wasn’t for Danny, the villain’s vanity would’ve caused the end of the world.

#2: Azula “Avatar: The Last Airbender” (2005-08)

Also in:

Top 10 Best Azula Moments on Avatar: The Last Airbender

The daughter of the Fire Lord is far from your typical princess. Azula is a sadistic firebending prodigy who will do anything to make sure her father wins the Hundred Year War. Her high intelligence and extraordinary fighting ability made it easy for her to deal devastating physical and mental blows to her enemies. Azula once conquered Ba Sing Se, convinced her brother Zuko to turn evil, and nearly killed Aang with lightning within the span of a single episode. Even when she’s off her game, she’s still an extremely dangerous enemy. Although Ozai was the big bad of the series, we’d rather face him in a public Agni Kai than spend a minute in a locked room with Azula. Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions. Roger M. Klotz “Doug” (1991-94) Nora Dershlit “iCarly” (2007-12) Professor Finbarr Calamitous “The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius” (2002-06) Milo McCreary “Drake & Josh” (2004-07) Tak “Invader Zim” (2001-06)

#1: Sheldon J. Plankton “SpongeBob SquarePants” (1999-)

Also in:

Top 10 Funniest Young Sheldon Running Gags

SpongeBob’s biggest antagonist is ironically the smallest creature in the ocean. Sheldon J. Plankton is a tiny genius who is obsessed with stealing the Krabby Patty Secret Formula. Although he’s successfully built tons of gadgets and a robotic wife, he always fails to steal the recipe from Mr. Krabs. While he gets depressed about his many setbacks, it’s absolutely hilarious to watch him fail. But Plankton isn’t always just the butt of a joke. He hijacked SpongeBob’s brain and enslaved the citizens of Bikini Bottom with mind-controlling helmets. But despite his many evil acts, we can’t stay mad at Plankton long. Watching him fail is just way too entertaining.
