VOICE OVER: Dan Paradis
Written by Alex Crilly-Mckean

Beautiful on the surface and bad to the bone. Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we are counting down our picks for the top ten hottest comic book villains.

For this list, we'll be looking at female villains that originated in comic books who stand out for being just as dazzling as they are deadly. Keep in mind these are strictly villains, so the likes of Black Cat and Catwoman, who veer towards being anti-heroes, won't be making appearances.

Beautiful on the surface and bad to the bone. Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we are counting down our picks for the top ten hottest comic book villains.

For this list, we’ll be looking at female villains that originated in comic books who stand out for being just as dazzling as they are deadly. Keep in mind these are strictly villains, so the likes of Black Cat and Catwoman, who veer towards being anti-heroes, won’t be making appearances.

#10: Viper

We all know that Black Widow has been known to play both sides on occasion, what with being a master assassin and all. Imagine all of her immense skills and vast sex appeal, minus any sense of morality and empathy whatsoever. Also known as Madam Hydra, Viper was raised to become one of the greatest soldiers within the villainous organisation, excelling in the art of combat. Over time her missions have led her to clash with both the X-Men and the Avengers. She’ll stab you in the back, but make your heart flutter at the same time.

#9: Killer Frost

Serial killers have never looked so hot. Many different ladies have taken up the mantel of this villain, but all share the rather vicious trait of being ice cold killers who aren’t afraid to give innocents the deep freeze. Her powers have made her a dangerous foe for the likes of the Justice League, though we have to admit whether she’s flesh and blood or rocking that whole crystalline look she still manages to raise the temperatures of those around her. At least until she turns your heart into an ice cube and crushes it.

#8: Enchantress

The clue is kind of in the name. Both Marvel and DC have had characters that wore that title but our choice goes to the Asgardian Sorceress Amora, whose beautiful face hides a shallow individual. She possesses godly traits like super strength and endurance, but her kiss is really something. It makes any man her slave, and it’s easy to see why. Alas, she just can’t win the heart of that hunky Thor, a rejection that has made her one of his most deadly adversaries. With all of her lovesick minions ready to fight for their mistress, that means lots of trouble for the thunder god.

#7: Lady Death

While her later incarnation led her towards the side of good, you can’t exactly become Queen of Hell without having a slightly corrupt soul. Making her first appearance alongside psychotic serial killer Evil Ernie as nothing more than eye-candy, her character gained in prominence in later retellings. Whether waging war in hell or in the land known as the Blacklands, she’s not one to be trifled with. This lady is not afraid of getting bloody, or of wearing an outfit that reveals her assets. Admit it, you would follow her into any kind of battle if she asked nicely enough. Either that or risk ending up with your head on a spike.

#6: Dark Phoenix

Jean Grey was a special kind of woman. Compassionate, intelligent, one of the most powerful mutants to ever exist, it’s no surprise she had both Cyclops and Wolverine fighting over her. Then came along the Phoenix Force, and like its namesake Jean Grey rose from the ashes, imbued with cosmic powers...along with a nasty case of corruption that led to her becoming Dark Phoenix, one of the greatest threats the galaxy has ever known. There’s no doubt she’d burn you with the intensity of a thousand suns, but at least your last living moments would be of sheer radiance and beauty.

#5: Talia Al Ghul

The Dark Knight has had many love interests over the years and across all kinds of media. From Catwoman to Wonder Woman, Batman certainly finds time to fall in love in-between his brooding. However, one of the most questionable conquests is the daughter of Ra’s Al Ghul, one of his greatest foes. Not only is Talia a master assassin in her own right, she has been known to betray her beloved on various occasions in order to serve her father. Yet it’s still clear that her heart belongs to the Caped Crusader above anything else. After all, she is the mother of his child. All we can say is fair play there, Bats.

#4: Harley Quinn

Equal parts tragic, beautiful and hilarious, this little lady found herself going from curious psychiatrist to sympathetic psychopath when her heart was stolen by the Joker. After which, he proceeded to twist, manipulate and crush that heart on repeated occasions. Her abusive relationship aside, Harley has shown herself to be an invaluable accomplice, even getting the best of the Dark Knight. It all goes to show that the Clown Prince of Crime truly is insane - after all, who wouldn’t appreciate this delectable villain’s attempts at seduction?

#3: Poison Ivy

An eco-terrorist who specialises in seduction and comes armed with a toxic kiss? No wonder Poison Ivy is one of Batman’s deadliest enemies, nearly turning him into plant food on several occasions. Devoted to Nature, Ivy has a mad drive to take back what mankind stole from the wild. Should you manage to get past that enticing floral surface, you’ll be dealing with a villain whose manipulation of all things green will make you fearful of your own garden. Despite knowing you’d suffer a painful end, can anyone resist her particular kiss of death? We doubt it.

#2: Mystique

This shapeshifter could be anyone or anything, but even in her true form there’s just something about the blue-skinned bombshell that is all kinds of irresistible. The long-time foe of the X-Men, Mystique has made for one of the franchise’s most complex characters. Her hatred of humankind made her a natural ally of Magneto in their shared hatred of mankind, but she also has inexorable ties to the heroes. See, she’s the real mother of Nightcrawler and the adoptive mother of Rogue. She can turn herself into your dream girl or become your worst nightmare All we can say is that this femme fatale is not to be messed with.

Before we reveal our number one pick, here are a few honourable mentions.

Cheetah

Ursa

Lady Deathstrike

#1: Emma Frost

Before she was kicking back and educating the next generation of mutants as a teacher at the academy, Emma Frost was one of the more problematic enemies of the X-Men. Her telepathic abilities rival those of the amazing Charles Xavier himself, but she has the added bonus of converting into a handy diamond form. Indeed, her power was only matched by her striking wardrobe, or lack thereof. Not only has she kicked some of Charles Xavier’s finest around with little effort, she even managed to lure Cyclops into having a telepathic affair. Huh, so much for Jean.
