#10: Spock
“Star Trek” (2009)
This pointy-eared and logic-loving extraterrestrial is the first officer on the Enterprise, a starship devoted to exploring the farthest reaches of the universe. There’s just something about a man in uniform, and when that man is also tall, handsome, and has a thorough understanding of science, you just can’t help but take notice. Don’t let the stern-looking eyebrows and seemingly emotionless demeanor fool you, because this half-Vulcan is all kinds of intense. Although he may be an expert at suppressing his feelings, his passionate human side often comes out, especially in his relationships with his fellow crewmates. We’re sure that we would live long and prosper with this specimen by our side.
#9: Starman
“Starman” (1984)
Jeff Bridges plays the title role in this romantic sci-fi offering about an entity who crashes on Earth and takes the form of a woman’s deceased husband. Innocent and sweet, this alluring space traveler possesses the power to heal injured animals and people. It certainly doesn’t hurt that he also possesses lean muscles, a set of tight buns, and some soulful baby blues. To top it off, he appears to be a rather tender lover, and there ain’t anything wrong with that. If this is what an alien invasion would bring, then count us in!
#8: Caine Wise
“Jupiter Ascending” (2015)
This genetically-engineered cosmic soldier, whose DNA has been spliced with that of a wolf, is sent to Earth find to a seemingly unassuming girl named Jupiter Jones. He’s fit, he’s tattooed, and he owns a pair of anti-gravity boots. How awesome is that? Being portrayed by a blond and brooding Channing Tatum was already enough to get our attention, but it was Caine’s heroism and devotion to his lady that really cemented his “hot” status. Oh, and did we mention that he’s got a pair of cybernetic wings? A heavenly body, indeed.
#7: Max Evans
“Roswell” (1999-2002)
Despite his outward appearance as just a regular high school student, Max is actually one of a group of human-alien hybrids who crash-landed in the New Mexico desert. With a strong jaw, puppy-dog eyes, and long lashes, this cutie is hard to resist. Throw in a shy demeanor, a caring nature, and some seriously healing hands, and you’ve got one stellar combination. It’s no wonder that fellow student Liz Parker can’t keep her eyes, or her lips, off of him. But guys like him don’t fall out of the sky every day, so who can blame her?
#6: The Tenth Doctor
“Doctor Who” (1963-89; 2005-)
Scottish actor David Tennant plays this incarnation of the ancient being known as The Doctor, who frequently saves the day during his travels throughout all of time and space. With his quick wit, amiable personality, and tousled brown hair, this Tenth version of the Doctor really is a perfect ten. He’s even got a cool sense of style, sporting his signature pinstriped suits with Converse sneakers. The only thing better than one Doctor is two of them, as this amusing meeting with Matt Smith’s Eleventh Doctor proves. Although Smith’s delightful take was also a strong contender, we ultimately decided to choose the charming Tennant as our companion. If only we had two hearts.
#5: Mac
“Earth Girls Are Easy” (1988)
Mac and his two colorful buddies come to our planet hoping to pick up chicks, and land in the pool of a bikini-clad California girl. When we first meet him, he’s covered in blue fur and has much more in common with Cookie Monster than with a heartthrob. But once he makes friends with a razor, his firm pecs and piercing gaze are put on full display. He may be unfamiliar with human mating rituals, but as evidenced by this steamy encounter, he’s a very fast learner. It’s pretty easy to see why an Earth girl, or anyone with a pulse, for that matter, would be interested in this celestial boy.
#4: Ronon Dex
“Stargate Atlantis” (2004-09)
This tall drink of water with long, flowing dreadlocks is a skilled warrior who joins a military expedition through deep space after the destruction of his homeworld. Dex is quite hostile at first, after having spent seven years on the run. Once he joins the team, however, he becomes one of their fiercest defenders, and is willing to put his own life on the line to protect his friends. Brought to life by supremely good-looking actor Jason Momoa, he’s blessed with buff arms, a gravelly voice and a sexy smile. Badass, brave, and beautiful? Now THAT's one killer trifecta.
#3: Thomas Jerome Newton
“The Man Who Fell to Earth” (1976)
Those cheekbones! That hair! Those eyes! Okay, well maybe not those eyes. The unmistakable David Bowie, in his first major film role, depicts a visitor from a foreign planet who has come to our big blue one in search of water. In addition to having an absolutely enchanting grin, Newton is intelligent and ageless, too. He starts off naive before he’s introduced to a garden of earthly delights, including lots and lots of sex, imbuing this cult classic with copious amounts of nudity. If you prefer your aliens looking like naked rock stars, you’ve come to the right place.
#2: Klaatu
“The Day the Earth Stood Still” (2008)
In this remake of the 1951 film, an otherworldly messenger in a body that bears a striking resemblance to Keanu Reeves is sent to warn mankind about the dangers of their destructive ways. Even though the movie itself didn’t impress many critics, we were still impressed by how swell Klaatu looks in a suit. This intergalactic babe learns about our species through his interactions with a scientist and her young stepson, giving us a glimpse at his softer side. A dude who’s good with kids is always endearing, no matter where he hails from.
Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.|
Dr. Frank-N-Furter
“The Rocky Horror Picture Show” (1975)
Riddick
“Pitch Black” (2000)
Han Solo
“Star Wars” (1977)
John Smith/Number Four
“I Am Number Four” (2011)
Ryan Nichols
“V” (2009-11)
#1: Clark Kent/Superman
“Superman” (1978)
He may seem like just a mild-mannered, glasses-wearing reporter from Smallville, Kansas, but that’s only because he’s hiding his true identity as a super-powered savior from another planet. This hunky hero has got it all: extraordinary abilities, dreamy good looks, and a noble commitment to truth and justice. He’s also got the confidence–and the bod– to pull off red briefs over a blue spandex unitard. Not an easy outfit to rock! Although the character has been brought to life by several other gorgeous men like Brandon Routh, Henry Cavill, Tom Welling and Dean Cain, we had to go with the iconic performance of Christopher Reeve. The new guys are all great, but sometimes you just have to stick with a classic.
