Welcome to MsMojo, and today we’re counting down our picks for the Top 10 International Girl Groups to Add to Your Playlist. For this list, we’ll be looking at some of the best breakout acts from all around the world. Ushering in a brand new era of the girl group, these rising stars are multilingual, multiethnic, and multitalented. So if you’re in the market for a new girls’ night out anthem, we’ve got you covered. Which of these groups caught your attention? Let us know in the comments below.

#10: Angel22

Originally, this ensemble of social media stars competed on “The X Factor: Celebrity” as V5. Now a quartet, the girls have rebranded as Angel22. They’ve earned more than seven million followers on TikTok, and their success has continued to grow beyond social media. Not only do the diverse members represent Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic, but they also sing in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Equal parts gritty and girly, Angel22 is bringing their unique mixture of Latin beats and hip hop influence to the pop scene.

#9: Boys World

With talent, style, and purpose, these singing social media stars are the whole package. Their more than a quarter of a million monthly Spotify listeners are proof that rising to fame during a worldwide pandemic hasn't hampered the US group's success. Boys World’s unique image makes them memorable, and they’ve fully embraced their role as your friendly neighborhood girlband. On social media, the members have a familiar, girl next door feel, but on stage they’re powerful dancers and polished vocalists. While trying to spread positive vibes, these pop stars have set their sights on bringing back an American passion for girl bands.

#8: Bella Dose

Maybe you’ve seen them singing in stairwells or dancing along to Shakira on TikTok, but this Latin girl group isn’t just a passing trend. The best way to describe the bilingual band? Captivating. Based out of Miami, the diverse members pull their musical inspiration from a wide range of Latin styles. Singing in both Spanish and English, the girls bring their signature charm to everything from low-key grooves to high-energy dance songs. With matching outfits and a musical maturity beyond their years, this girl group is definitely one to watch.

#7: NiziU

A byproduct of South Korean label JYP’s global expansion and Sony Music Entertainment Japan, Niziu’s journey to stardom started with a survival show. Now, they’re one of Japan’s hottest girl groups. The members of this Japanese musical act combine the best of both K-pop and J-pop to create their own signature style. The nine girls have been welcomed with open arms, and their debut song “Step and a Step” has sold more than three hundred thousand copies in just one week. Since then, the beloved group has soared to the top with multiple music awards and Japanese number ones.

#6: DOLLA

This Southeast Asian girl group with a hip hop flair features Chinese, Japanese, and Malay members. Signed under Universal Music Malaysia, these girls did not come to play. Since they won a “Most Popular Female New Artist” award only one year after their debut, you’ll definitely want to keep the multilingual group on your radar. Their millions of TikTok likes and a rapidly expanding fanbase are proof they’re headed to the top. Whether it’s their BLACKPINK-esque hit “Bad” or the more traditional Malaysian song “Raya Raya Raya,” you can always count on DOLLA to deliver.

#5: Le Sserafim

If it’s surprising to hear that this group only debuted in 2022, it might be because the members are actually seasoned performers. Not only was Sakura a J-pop idol for ten years, but she was also a part of South Korean–Japanese group Iz*One alongside her Le Sserafim bandmate Chae-won. Member Kazuha was also performing, only as a professional ballerina, and the girls’ combined experience shines through. Their singles "Antifragile" and "Unforgiven" became hits. Their songs have made the charts all over the world and earned them a slew of awards, including a "Rookie of the Year" title. With a name that spells “I’m Fearless” backwards, the girl group certainly lives up to that, swapping our sugar sweet expectations for an unapologetic ferocity.

#4: BINI

If you’re looking for a group that’s unabashedly fun and feminine, look no further than these young P-pop stars. After training with coaches from different countries, including the Philippines and South Korea, BINI is leading a brand new generation of Pinoy girl groups. Drawing on their identities as “modern Filipinas,” the group backs up their cheery smiles with incredible talent and an inspirational message. Since their debut in 2021, the band’s earned millions of views, and they even caught the world’s attention with a viral TikTok challenge. After their impressive rookie success, it looks like the young group is headed toward an even brighter future.

#3: FLO

From the Spice Girls to Little Mix, girl groups are no strangers to British pop history. And thanks to their viral first single “Cardboard Box,” this R&B trio is ready for their turn on top. Since catching the world’s attention, these vocally talented artists have won a BRIT award, put on an international tour, and collaborated with hip hop legend Missy Elliott. While they have a decidedly nostalgic style, the group still feels fresh and modern. Their sultry harmonies and intricate riffs leave a lasting impression, and it’s safe to say these talented girls aren’t going anywhere.

#2: XG

Popular rapper and singer Jackson Wang called this up-and-coming global girl group “the future.” And with their sights set on success without borders, XG is well on their way to world domination. Debuting in 2022, the girl group has promoted themselves in Korea and performed in both Japan and the US. Their song “Left Right” was even featured at Coachella, and it spent ten consecutive weeks on Mediabase’s Top 40 Radio Airplay Chart. Though the group is young, their jaw-dropping raps and unbeatable stage presence have earned them a loyal following. The seven Japanese members have trilingual talent in spades, and it’s easy to see why their name stands for “Xtraoridnary Girls.”

#1: NewJeans

To say these five girls took the world by storm is somehow an understatement. Within a year, the group charted globally, managed to have several of their singles go viral and became the "Fastest K-pop act to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify," earning a Guinness World REcord in the process . Taking their place within the rising girl group era, the phenomenal performers with a youthful concept have millions of followers on platforms like TikTok. Beyond music, the South Korean group has even played an influential role in the explosive return of fashion from the 2000s and school-girl style. Created by girl group genius Min Hee-jin, NewJeans was meant to deviate from the Kpop formula. Taking on a “whimsical,” music-forward, and boundary-pushing vision, this trend-setting pop group has our full attention.
