Get ready for some digital destruction. Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we are counting down our picks for the Top 10 Mega Digimon.

For this list, we'll be looking at the most iconic Digimon who have managed to ascend to their final forms. Please keep in mind that they must have appeared in either the series or movies at least once in order to qualify. We also won't be taking into account any fusion Digimon, so don't expect to see the likes of Omnimon, Imperialdramon or Susanoomon on here.

#10: Jesmon

A more recent addition to the mega line-up, this strikingly stylish swordsman is actually the final form of the adorable Hackmon. As the Digidestined once again make a return to the Digital World, they’re greeted to the sight of this white-clad knight taking on the nigh unbeatable Alphamon. As far as first impressions go, we have to give this guy full points. While we’re still curious about what he and the Homeostasis’s true ambitions are, here’s hoping that he gets to show off more of his talents in later movies.

#9: Rosemon

While we were already acquainted with one of these fierce floral fighters in Data Squad, it was her appearance in the tri series that really shook things up. When faced against the threat of an evil Imperialdramon, both Joe and Mimi’s belief in their partners manage to push them all the way to mega. Luckily, Rosemon isn’t just a looker, she’s also got some serious power, and as a result they manage to put the kibosh on the villains’ plans. A rose by any other name, am I right?

#8: Machinedramon

We could have picked any of the Dark Masters, but its fair to say that none look quite as epic as this hulking mass of metal. His size, stature and the fact he has two giant bloody cannons on his back ensures this beast is the epitome of deadly. Before he met his end at WarGreymon’s hand, he managed to decimate the Digidestined on numerous occasions. Luckily, he got something of an encore in the tri movies, where it took the combined might of three other mega level Digimon just to hold a candle to him.

#7: Sakuyamon

Yeah we discounted fusion Digimon from our list, but we didn’t say anything about Bio-Merges. After bonding with her partner Rika, the already badass Renamon was able to ascend to her strongest form. As enchanting as she is deadly, this staff-wielding fox more than managed to hold her own against the threat of the D-Reaper. Not only is she one awesome character, but also a shining example of just how far both this Tamer and her partner had grown over the course of the series.

#6: Alphamon

The unsung powerhouse of the franchise, this paragon of beat-downs has always strived for Justice. As the final form of Dorumon, Alphamon was able to save the inhabitants of the Digital World from the threat of the program known as Yggdrasil. His sacrifice and heroism made him a legend, so we were more than happy to see him make an appearance in the tri movies. Yeah, we have no idea whose side this guy is on, but he more than makes up for it by wrecking every opponent he comes across.

#5: MetalGarurumon

One of the two arguably most iconic Digimon in the whole franchise, this wolf is the result of Gabumon imbued with so much friendship that he gets coated head to toe with armaments. With more missiles, explosives and zero-degree weaponry than he knows what to do with, its no wonder that he’s not only taken out a Dark Master all by himself, but also managed to tear apart WarGreymon during his little rebellious phase.

#4: Seraphimon

Despite his initial pulpy appearance, Patamon’s heavenly evolutions have always managed to stun fans with just how glorious they are. Standing at the pinnacle of them all is this armored archangel. Unfortunately, he didn’t get much of a chance to shine during his initial appearance in the first Digimon movie. However, he’s certainly gotten his fair share of screen time since, in both Digimon Frontier and the Tri series. You haven’t seen divine judgment until you’ve seen this guy bust out the strike of the seven stars.

#3: Gallantmon

Following on from the heart-breaking death of Leomon, not to mention Guilmon’s fall from grace into the deadly Megidramon, it looked like nothing could overcome Beelzemon’s ruthlessness. That is, until Takato and his best bud managed to access the first ever Bio-Merge. Fuelled by their desire to fight as one, their wish is granted as they fuse together to become the Digital World’s noblest of knights. With joust and shield in hand, Gallantmon has gone on to show that chivalry can be a lethal weapon.

#2: Beelzemon

Let’s be honest, we all found Impmon to be annoying from day one. Loud and obnoxious, he was the furthest thing from cute. Then, this happened. After finding himself forcibly Digivolving into his mega form, the little firestarter went onto become a vengeful, gun-wielding motorcyclist. He slaughtered his way across the Digital World, causing chaos everywhere he went, all before finding himself with the series’ most heartfelt redemption arc. Who would have guessed this guy would go on to become one of the franchise’s most complex of characters! Before we reveal our number one pick, here are a few honorable mentions. UlforceVeedramon Justimon MirageGaogamon

#1: WarGreymon

Often imitated, never duplicated. While spiritual successors like ShineGreymon have certainly had their moments, and BlackWarGreymon stands out as an awesome character all his own, there’s just no beating the original. The armoured embodiment of courage, this draconic humanoid has managed to lay the beat down on several of the franchise’s biggest villains, often by spinning himself around like a tornado and slicing them to ribbons. While we’ll undoubtedly get plenty more Mega Digimon in the near future, none will truly be able to replicate the impact of this digital warrior.
