Top 10 Memorable Cory & Topanga Moments
#10: Their Anniversary
“Chasing Angela”
Cory and Topanga have been together practically since birth, so even before they get married, they start feeling like an old, married couple. During their anniversary date, Topanga gets upset with Cory’s obsessive behavior, and makes a scene right in the middle of “their place.” But the fight doesn’t last long and is quickly replaced by the two of them making an entirely different kind of scene, making out right there on the table in front of God and everybody. They show Shawn and Angela, who are just starting out, what true love really means, and rekindle their youth.
#9: When They Decided to Fix Up Their Crappy Apartment
“Picket Fences”
Cory and Topanga grew up living relatively sheltered lives, so when their new married dorm doesn’t turn out to be exactly what they expected, they don’t handle it very well. Realizing that married life isn't so easy, Cory and Topanga turn to his parents for help, but are turned away. This is a moment that tears a rift in the Matthews family like we’ve never seen before, but is also possibly their most valuable life lesson. After the kick in the pants from their parents, and a little tough love from Shawn, they decide to put in the work and fix up their place to make it great.
#8: When They Got Back Together Where They First Met
“Starry Night”
Cory and Topanga may be the ultimate relationship goal, but everything wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows. After breaking up when Cory cheats on Topanga, and Topanga meets a new guy in front of Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” painting, things aren’t looking good for them. But Cory professes his love in front of the same masterpiece, proclaiming that he and Topanga are the true masterpiece and tells her that he’ll be waiting for her in the spot where they first met as kids. After these experiences with other people, they realize they don't want anyone but each other, and get back together on the monkey bars where they first met.
#7: Doughnut in the Sky
“Cory’s Alternative Friends”
One of Cory and Topanga’s best moments happens long before they fall in love. When Topanga is first introduced in the show, Cory thinks she is a bit peculiar. So, when they get paired up on a project together, he really shouldn’t be surprised by the unconventional presentation she has planned. Cory is to read a poem aloud while Topanga fearlessly performs an interpretive dance and draws on her face with lipstick. This moment is one of the earliest examples of Cory and Topanga's dynamic. And even though Topanga would later grow up and grow out of some of her younger style, this moment would always remind both of them of the real Topanga.
#6: The Time They Accidentally Spent the Night Together
“Wake Up, Little Cory”
While staying late at school to finish an assignment, Cory and Topanga accidentally fall asleep and spend the night there. It’s not difficult to imagine what everyone assumes happened. Even Feeny assumes the worst at first. This experience that Cory and Topanga share demonstrates the different ways men and women are treated when it comes to sex. According to the rest of the school, Cory is seen as a hero and Topanga’s reputation is ruined. In a bad moment, Cory gets caught up and lies to keep his hero status, but Topanga confronts him like a boss. He ultimately realizes the error of his ways and makes things right. He always has Topanga’s back.
#5: Wedding
“It’s About Time”
After multiple years of watching them grow up together and fall in love, Cory and Topanga finally get married. It was a long and bumpy road to reach this moment. Topanga’s shocking graduation proposal was a long time coming, but it still caught everyone off guard, Cory especially. But after dealing with their family’s initial lack of support, their own moments of hesitation, and some last-minute insecurity from Shawn, the one true pairing we all know was meant to be tie the knot for good. And it is beautiful.
#4: First Kiss
“Cory’s Alternative Friends”
Cory learned most of his life lessons from Mr. Feeny, but it’s Topanga who taught him that superficial things are not as important as who they are on the inside. Feeling insecure about his curly hair, Cory tries to straighten it and it ends up looking disastrous. Being rejected by his friends, Cory sits at lunch with Topanga and the other weird kids. Accepting his new place with them, Cory participates in Topanga’s protest to get their classmates to sign a petition against firing an elderly librarian. To further prove her point of inner beauty, Topanga pushes Cory up against his locker, and kisses him. This kiss is iconic.
#3: I Love You
“What I Meant to Say”
From the second Topanga’s character was introduced in the fourth episode of this series, it was pretty apparent that Cory and Topanga were endgame. You probably knew that Cory and Topanga would end up together even before they did. When Cory says, “I love you,” to Topanga for the first time, she freaks out at the thought of such a big step, and they break up for all of about two minutes before she decides she loves him back. Topanga teaches Cory many important lessons throughout their lives, but this time, it’s Cory who teaches Topanga what love really means. And the two are stronger than ever.

Naturally, their parents are not too happy about Topanga running away, but she gives an impassioned speech about how she only wants to do all the things that people in love do with Cory. There was a lot of doubt from their families as to whether it was healthy for the two of them to be in such an intense relationship, but Cory and Topanga never doubted for a second.
