Our look at the most anticipated TV series includes the long-awaited return of “Euphoria,” the sci-fi noir of “Blade Runner 2099,” a fresh take on “Scrubs,” the expansion of Westeros with “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” and the cosmic mystery of “Lanterns,” plus much more! Which series are you most hyped for? Let us know in the comments below!

#10: “Scrubs” (2001-10; 2026) Season 10

“Scrubs” ended on the perfect note with its eighth season. The problem is that they made a ninth season, hurting the sitcom’s legacy. This revival, which is debuting in February, may put the sacred back in Sacred Heart. Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, Donald Faison, Judy Reyes, and John C. McGinley are all returning with newcomers like Vanessa Bayer and Joel Kim Booster. Despite being under contract with Warner Bros., creator Bill Lawrence is also thankfully on board. Now seems like the right time for a “Scrubs” reboot, not only because the show still pulls in strong streaming numbers, but because the medical world has changed so much in the past 15 years. From COVID to vaccine hesitation, there’s no shortage of topics to cover.

#9: “Elle” (2026-)

We’re still waiting for “Legally Blonde 3,” but while that project lingers in purgatory, we’ll gladly watch this prequel series from Amazon. This isn’t the first attempt at a TV show centered on Elle Woods. Jennifer Hall initially starred in a 2003 pilot that wouldn’t surface until years later. We have higher hopes for “Elle,” which follows the titular character’s teenage years. Reese Witherspoon remains involved as an executive producer, but newcomer Lexi Minetree will play the Harvard-bound high schooler. Witherspoon was inspired to take Elle to high school after watching “Wednesday.” The 90s setting, mixed with the franchise’s signature humor, could give us something along the lines of the “Clueless” TV series… except, ya know, better. We’ll binge this in a bend and snap!

#8: “VisionQuest” (2026)

Marvel’s Disney+ output has seen more misses than hits as of late, but 2026 may be a return to form. “Wonder Man” has the potential to be a fun satire, touching upon the oversaturation and fatigue of superhero movies. We’re most excited for “VisionQuest,” which will see Paul Bettany return as the AI who’s been MIA since “WandaVision.” Vision isn’t the only character making an overdue comeback. For the first time in over a decade, James Spader will portray Ultron, both as a robot and in human form. With AI being such a hot-button topic, the dynamic between Vision and Ultron could explore two sides of the same coin, one that seeks to benefit humanity and another that risks destroying it.

#7: “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” (2026-)

The streaming era of “Star Trek” got off to a rocky start, but the past few shows have found their footing. “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” may be the boldest journey yet on Paramount+. You’ll recognize a few names, like Oscar winner Holly Hunter and Paul Giamatti. Both have ties to Sandro Rosta’s Caleb, a Starfleet student searching for his long-lost mother. That said, this coming-of-age series mainly centers on the next generation… no, not that “Next Generation.” While a “Star Trek” show set in classrooms might not sound compelling, much of the action will take place on the USS Athena. This will allow for more exploration as our young cadets find their place in the galaxy.

#6: “American Horror Story” (2011-) Season 13

After taking a break in 2025, this long-running horror anthology series is returning for its lucky thirteenth season just in time for Halloween 2026. While the premise hasn’t been officially announced, a cheeky teaser suggests that it will pick up with the witches we first met in Season 3’s “Coven.” The cast list only enforces this theory, bringing back Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, and Jessica Lange, the latter of whom hasn’t appeared on the show since Season 8’s “Apocalypse.” This season is also getting fresh blood in Ariana Grande, who previously collaborated with Ryan Murphy on “Scream Queens.” RIP Chanel #2. Here’s hoping Grande’s character here lives longer!

#5: “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” (2026-)

Following the colossal letdown that was the “Game of Thrones” finale, the fantasy franchise saw something of a comeback with “House of the Dragon.” “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” is the second TV spinoff from George R. R. Martin. Another prequel series, the inspiration is drawn from Martin’s “Tales of Dunk and Egg” novellas. The “Dunk” is Ser Duncan the Tall, a lowly hedge knight, and the “Egg” is Aegon Targaryen, a young Targaryen prince turned squire. Both are underdogs, which are often the best characters in “Game of Thrones.” Based on what we’ve seen so far, the show seems to be taking a more comedic, lighthearted, perhaps even optimistic approach, while still remaining grounded in this violent world.

#4: “Euphoria” (2019-) Season 3

You thought three years was a ridiculously long wait for new episodes of “Severance” and “Andor?” It’ll have been four years by the time “Euphoria” returns! Much has happened behind the scenes between Seasons 2 and 3. Namely, Angus Cloud tragically lost his life. He won’t be the only absent actor this season, as Barbie Ferreira chose not to reprise her role as Kat. Yet, Season 3 will see the return of Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi, all of whom have exploded since the series debuted. In that sense, we’re not surprised Season 3 took a while to complete. So long, in fact, that the characters will be out of high school, opening them up to even more adult stories!

#3: “Spider-Noir” (2026-)

Even when comic book movies printed money, Sony's Spider-Man Universe was generally seen as a joke. We think this cinematic universe might have better luck with its first TV outing, however. Why? Well, borrowing from the “Spider-Verse” movies is a good start. Nicolas Cage previously voiced Spider-Man Noir in the Oscar-winning “Into the Spider-Verse.” Cage will bring the aging crimefighter into live-action with this series, which sets itself in a black-and-white-draped 1930s New York. While Spider-Noir thrived in animation, we believe the character can also work in a styled live-action environment, especially if the showrunners take a page from something like “Sin City.” Coming to MGM+ and Amazon Prime Video, “Spider-Noir” can’t get here soon enough. We’ll just do this Rubik’s Cube until then.

#2: “Blade Runner 2099” (2026)

“Blade Runner” and its 2017 legacy sequel are two of the most thought-provoking and visually stimulating sci-fi films ever made. Sadly, not nearly enough people saw them in theaters. The good news is that this miniseries won’t have to worry about the box office. While Silka Luisa of “Shining Girls” serves as the showrunner, Ridley Scott will be an executive producer along with Michael Green of “Blade Runner 2049.” Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh leads the cast as Olwen, a replicant whose life is coming to an end. Hunter Schafer also stars in an Amazon Prime Video series that promises to deepen the franchise’s lore while also seeing it into the future. Will Harrison Ford make a cameo, though?

Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.

“Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord” (2026-) Maul Will Finally Take Center Stage in This Animated Series

“Y: Marshals” (2026-)

Kayce Carries on the Dutton Legacy

“Crystal Lake” (2026-)

A “Friday the 13th” Series? Produced by A24? We’re There!

“Hollywood Arts” (2026-)

Trina Vega Is Staging a “Victorious” Comeback

“Love Story” (2026-)

Ryan Murphy Goes From Horror Stories to a Kennedy Love Story

#1: “Lanterns” (2026-)

If that 2011 movie was the “blackest night,” then here’s hoping that this HBO series is the “brightest day” that we’ve been waiting for. With James Gunn’s “Superman” and “Peacemaker” Season 2, we already met one cast member in Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner. As the title suggests, though, the show isn’t about just one Green Lantern. Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre will lead the series as Hal Jordan and John Stewart, respectively. What has us just as excited is the talent behind the camera, which includes Damon Lindelof of “The Leftovers” and Chris Mundy of “Ozark.” The latter also worked on “True Detective,” which is fitting, as “Lanterns” will also include a murder mystery. “Lanterns” just might be the envy of every other superhero show.
