#10: Harry & Marv The “Home Alone” Franchise (1990-)

Top 10 Harry Potter Movie Mistakes Spotted By the Fans

This criminal duo thought their plan to rob the homes of Christmas vacationers was flawless. But everything changes when a kid named Kevin booby traps a home they plan to pillage. Although they could have left and moved on to a new target after the very first obstacle, they keep pushing themselves to make it through the house. Even Kevin’s worst torments aren’t enough to discourage them from pushing through the pain to exact their revenge. And the two stirred up more chaos because they couldn’t let their grudge go in the sequel. Would these two klutzy criminals have had an easier time if they had partners that didn’t enable grudges against kids? Well, they’d definitely have had fewer scorch marks.

#9: Brennan & Dale “Step Brothers” (2008)

Although these two failed fledglings are each forty years old, they have the maturity level of kindergartners. When their respective parents get married, combine households and force them to accept the other as step brothers, their energetic childlike instincts clash and lead to lots of bedlam. Brennan’s willingness to touch Dale’s drum set quickly escalates to grave-digging in the backyard. However, they still wreak havoc when they accept each other as brothers and work as a team. Together, they fail job interviews, get into a playground brawl with a group of aggressive school kids and crash their dad’s boat in an ill-fated music video. Brennan and Dale bring more than just entertainment. They bring pure pandemonium.

#8: Riggs & Murtaugh The “Lethal Weapon” franchise (1987-)

Murtaugh is a down-to-earth cop who both loves and hates being stuck with his crazy partner, Riggs. Although the “too old for this” officer doesn’t love his eccentric partner’s impulsive actions, it’s clear that Murtaugh enjoys the unpredictability found in Riggs’ chaotic nature. They also have lots of fun messing with people. Thanks to their natural chemistry, they talk circles around unsuspecting citizens and criminals. By the third movie, Murtaugh watches Riggs fly off the edge of an incomplete overpass and it doesn’t even phase him. Their actions are usually unpredictable on the field. However, you can always be sure that when these two officers are on the scene, something is going to explode.

#7: Doc & Marty “Back to the Future” (1985)

Doc is a wacky genius. Marty is an awkward and hot headed musician. Both have a hyper, puppy energy that feeds off each other and inspires some pretty crazy events. After Doc puts Marty in the path of a time traveling car, the young kid sticks around to see what’s next. The teenager even uses the vehicle to get away from the armed enemies his buddy recently made. Across the three films, this mis-matched team changes the past, present and future in a whirlwind of slip-ups, accidents and good intentioned mistakes. It’s amazing that such a tumultuous pair manages to make it all work out in the end. But we don’t think we’d put them in charge of our timeline.

#6: Elwood & Jake “The Blues Brothers” (1980)

These two musicians accept chaos with a casual manner that epitomizes coolness. In the first moments of the film, they jump a drawbridge so Elwood can prove that his new car is a good one. No big deal. Not too much later, state troopers show up to arrest him for numerous driving violations which leads to a highly destructive car chase scene through a mall. Throughout the film, Elwood and Jake embrace random mayhem. They stir up so much trouble that it doesn’t seem strange that the brothers are pursued by a teeming crowd of military and police in the end. While it’s not easy to be so cool amidst so much madness, the Blues Brothers pull it off while never losing their shades.

#5: Diego & Lila “The Umbrella Academy” (2019-)

Diego and Lila start their unconventional romance by meeting in an asylum before escaping together. While Diego prefers to be a lone wolf, he can’t deny that he wants Lila along. Over the course of lots of killing and destruction, these two super-powered loose cannons fall in love. They just have to deal with the small fact that their respective family members want to annihilate each other. Although Diego thinks he understands everything and always requires a plan, Lila defies prediction and comprehension. She even leaves a random kid in his care and lies about the boy being his son. Eventually, Diego accepts that Lila will do what she wants. While they've almost never had a moment of peace together, they kind of love it.

#4: Bill & Ted “Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure” (1989)

Also in:

Top 10 Best Bill and Ted Movie Moments

Bill S. Preston Esquire and Ted “Theodore” Logan are two friends that are up for anything. There is almost no time between an idea being presented to them and them jumping in full throttle with giant grins on their faces. If you ask them to time travel to forcefully relocate famous people from history, you know what they'd say? Excellent! Are they willing to play Battleship with the embodiment of death? Totally! Whether they’re going to The Old West or the future, trouble follows everywhere they go. Luckily, they exude so much joyful chaos that everyone they meet can’t help but jump on board their Tardis, ahem, phone booth to go along for the ride. Party on, Dudes!

#3: Loki & Thor “The Marvel Cinematic Universe” (2008-)

Also in:

Top 10 Best Loki MCU Moments

Siblings are practically professionals at creating pandemonium. Now imagine what happens when two brothers have been at it for hundreds of years and one of them is the god of mischief. After centuries of experience, Loki knows exactly how to push Thor’s buttons to get a typically violent reaction. And the god of thunder constantly falls right into his brother’s worst traps. Despite the bickering, backstabbing and blown to hell cities between them, this destructive duo actually manages to work together well. Naturally, their best teamwork moment leads to Ragnarok and the destruction of their entire planet. Now, that’s some god-level chaos.

#2: Lucy & Ethel “I Love Lucy” (1951-1957)

Also in:

Top 10 Shocking Facts We Learned from Lucy and Desi

All hail to the original queens of comic disaster. These two ladies filled their 1950’s sitcom with slapstick humor and topsy-turvy camaraderie. While Lucy is full of grand ideas, Ethel happily joins in for whatever wacky adventures esue. More often than not, these ingenious schemes start out running like clockwork but quickly fly off the rails. When they try a new job, they end up struggling with a speedy chocolate conveyor belt. Raising money for charity naturally leads to dressing up as martians at the top of the Empire State building. This classic duo jumps into each situation with full hearts and hilarious commitment. In the process, they created comedy history.

#1: Harley Quinn & The Joker Every Adaptation

It’s not safe to be on the streets if these destructive love birds go looking for some fun. Originally, Harley Quinn starts out as Joker’s psychiatrist in Arkham Asylum. But he seduces her into a life of madness and crime. Harley quickly becomes the gasoline to Joker’s flame. In most adaptations, the clown lets his partner-in-crime get arrested while he slinks away. When Joker returns for her, she’s ready to run back into his arms and jump right into the mayhem. In “Suicide Squad” alone, both of the clown’s attempted rescues result in lot of explosions and death. But it doesn’t matter what adaptation they’re in. If Harley Quinn and Joker are a couple, they’ll cause chaos wherever they go with smiles on their faces.
