Psy has compared the Gangnam District of Seoul to Beverly Hills, California, something we don’t really get from this music video at all. Instead we get Psy sitting on a toilet, bright yellow suits and random explosions that will just have you wondering what the hell is going on. That’s not to even mention the odd dancing that occurs in the elevator. The most viewed video on YouTube, and a dance craze that took the world by storm back in 2012, it’s the ridiculousness of the video that makes it so re-watchable.

A video that truly captures the contagious nature of this trap sensation, “Turn Down for What” is as ridiculous as it gets. When a man overcome by the beat loses control of his body and crashes into the floor beneath him, a chain reaction of destruction, air humping, boob bouncing and what can only be described as penis gymnastics ensues. With the equally ridiculous vocals of Lil Jon, and a beat that will have you acting out the video, the video solidified the song as a modern EDM classic.

Miley Cyrus has never been known for her sterling acting ability but if this video stuck to the close ups of her surprisingly sincere looking sadness it is conceivable this video could have been fantastic. Instead we cut to Miley naked atop a wrecking ball, overly dramatized wall destruction and weirdest of all, sledgehammer licking. Directed by photographer Terry Richardson, who allegedly sexually preys on many of his subjects, this only makes the video even weirder.

Typically when rap videos feature naked women, they will normally use nameless models or dancers looking to pay their bills. Here however West has his wife and mother of his child riding naked on the back of a motorcycle in front of horrible green screen landscapes. Oh yeah, did you notice that Kanye’s bike is clearly not moving? The fact that James Franco and Seth Rogen did a hilarious shot for shot remake of thevideo is a testament to how ridiculous Bound 2 is.

If there is any video on this list that will have you scratching your head hardest, it’s this one. A boy band’s concert. A satire of boy bands that goes awry, this video is just do weird to explain, but we’re gonna try anyways. A glowing bald man that is able to shoot laser beams from his mouth shows up to ruin a boy band version of Hot Chip’s concert, while a giant floating head arrives later to add to the destruction. On second thought, you may just want the visuals to speak for themselves.

Surrounding himself and his friends with a trio of topless or scantily clad women depending on which version you prefer, this minimalist production saw massive backlash after it’s release in 2013. “Blurred Lines” is often considered by critics as a misogynistic song, and thevideo can be viewed as no different. While it is a fun song, and an iconic video of the decade, there’s no denying the awkward feeling you get watching three grown men dancing around with naked women that are 10 to 15 years younger than them.

The world can rest assured that Sir Mix A Lot’s Anaconda would definitely want some part of this music video and he may not be the only one. A music video that doubles as an ode to the female posterior, Nicki Minaj and a bevy of large butted women twerk and otherwise show off their buttocks in practically every second of this over the top video. Featuring an awkward cameo by none other than Drake, we couldn’t help but notice he doesn’t stand up after Nicki’s dance. Gross.

When this clip was initially released the backlash to its lazy approach and perceived cultural mis-appropriation inspired its temporary removal from Youtube which is always a good sign. When we actually got around to watching the video we were aghast to see horrible dancing, a tired, cartoonish depiction of life in japan and an overall spirit of malaise that permeates every shot. Taking a page out of Gwen Stefani’s book, Avril Lavigne takes it one step further, to make the most over the top video of the 2010s.
