Love and marriage. Oh, and reality. Join http://www.WatchMojo.com as we count down our picks for the Top 10 Short-Lived Celebrity Marriages. For this list, we're counting down the most puzzling romances that seemed doom to fail and ultimately did, sometimes within days or even hours. Rather than directly counting down based on duration, we are taking into account the scenarios and mismatched people involved.

#10: Jennifer Lopez & Cris Judd
9 Months
By the late ‘90s, J.Lo and Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs were a hot topic, but after a nightclub-shooting incident, Lopez was ready to move on. On a Spanish music video set, J.Lo fell right to the arms of director Cris Judd, the protégé of Michael Jackson. They made their marriage official on September 29th, 2001, but as it turns out this was only a seasonal fling – much like Lopez’s first marriage to Cuban waiter Ojani Noa. By the summer of 2002, J.Lo and Judd called it quits.
#9: Eddie Murphy & Tracey Edmonds
2 Weeks
Once the long-time wife on R&B producer Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Tracey Edmonds found new love with someone that could make her smile. That man was Eddie Murphy, who had been regrouping from a relationship with Spice Girl Mel B. In 2008, Tracey and Eddie decided to exchange vows in a New Year’s Day ceremony on Bora Bora. The couple released a statement only two weeks later explaining that a legal ceremony wasn’t necessary to define their love. The waves came crashing down on this “symbolic union.”
#8: Drew Barrymore & Tom Green
5 Months & 10 Days
The pairing of these two eccentric characters looked good on paper, and when Tom Green and Drew Barrymore began dating, the former was earning a cult following with his offbeat MTV series. Maybe it was the laughter and romantic chemistry that brought the entertainers together, but the strange union was obviously lacking patience as Tom Green filed for divorce less than six months after their July 2001 marriage. Sometimes creative minds need intense love before needing a little personal space and then permanent space.
#7: Pamela Anderson & Kid Rock
3 Months & 30 Days
When it comes to entertaining, Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock operate at a higher level than most. After hooking up in the early 2000s, the two stars were briefly engaged only to call it off in 2003. Three years later, they reunited for a French Riviera wedding. Personal complications and Kid Rock’s reported meltdown at a “Borat” screening, however, led to the final act in their relationship. Pamela gave love another shot with Paris Hilton’s sex tape pal Rick Salomon, but their two-month marriage ended with the wife citing “fraud.”
#6: Nicolas Cage & Lisa Marie Presley
3 Months & 15 Days
When you’re born into movie royalty, it’s probably easy to connect with someone who was born into music royalty. As the nephew of Francis Ford Coppola, Nicolas Cage has been known to have a special place in his heart for the King of Rock, and that love took another form when he married Elvis’s only child, Lisa Marie Presley. It all seemed a little too convenient, and the two parties must have agreed, as their union came to an end after three and a half months.
#5: Dennis Hopper & Michelle Phillips
8 Days
Making his debut appearance alongside James Dean in the 1955 classic “Rebel Without a Cause,” Dennis Hopper was already somewhat of a Hollywood legend in 1970, especially after roles in “Cool Hand Luke,” “True Grit,” and “Easy Rider.” Despite being known for his “unique” way of life, Michelle Phillips of The Mamas and the Papas must have been intrigued by Hopper’s “joyful” approach to the everyday, but after a week of marriage and reported “unnatural sex demands,” the marriage ultimately became nothing more than a pop culture factoid, which IS something, right?
#4: Cher & Gregg Allman
9 Days
In 1975, Cher was recovering from a breakup with Sunny Bono and naturally rebounded with another musician within days. Yes, just four days hours after finalizing her divorce, Cher tied the knot with southern rocker Gregg Allman. But here’s the thing about them good ol’ boys – they drinks a bit and Allman dabbled in perhaps a bit to much heroin for Cher’s taste. Nine days later – yes nine days! – another Cher marriage ended. Well, almost: turns out the couple managed to patch things up and stay married until 1979. Which, in Hollywood years, is forever.
#3: Kim Kardashian & Kris Humphries
72 Days
Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian shared a unique dynamic in that one rode the bench and the other was most known for riding…fame all the way to the bank. Who really knows what either was thinking, but you know that when you factor in a reality TV series, the romance seemed more like a publicity stunt than real love. The final count was 72 days, yet the money’s still flowin’ in. Theirs truly was a romance of the digital age.
#2: Dennis Rodman & Carmen Electra
9 Days
Spontaneity and the spirit of Sin City were at the heart of this short-lived marriage. Because surprise, surprise: NBA star Dennis Rodman and MTV vixen Carmen Electra were married in November 1998 in the haven of hazy weddings, Las Vegas. Electra herself described the event as “like getting a cheeseburger at a fast-food restaurant” and was dealing with the passing of both her own sister and mother at the time. It was Rodman who initially filed for an annulment after nine days. Despite an attempt at rekindling the fire, the two parted ways four months later.
Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions:
- Mario Lopez & Ali Landry
Two Weeks
- Rudolph Valentino & Jean Acker
1 Day
- Chad Michael Murray & Sophia Bush
5 Months
- Renée Zellweger & Kenny Chesney
4 Months
- Bradley Cooper & Jennifer Esposito
4 Months
#1: Britney Spears & Jason Allen Alexander
55 Hours
When a small-town girl makes it big and invites high school friends to Sin City, you better believe someone’s getting married. Six months before her engagement to Kevin Federline, Britney Spears embarked on a legendary Vegas weekend. Upon watching “Mona Lisa Smile” and “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” the Princess of Pop and pal Jason Alexander hit the strip for a bit of fun. You know, marriage. Unsurprisingly, their union lasted 55 hours before it was annulled, but the sheer oddity of the incident has long inspired famous people to behave in equally bizarre fashion.
