These are what they use to get around a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away… Join http://www.WatchMojo.com as we count down our picks for the Top 10 Star Wars Vehicles. For this list, we’re only looking at vehicles that appeared in the main “Star Wars” films, rather than in its expanded universe or Legends label. We're also omitting the Death Star as it's a battle station more than a vehicle.

#10: Rebel Blockade Runner

Also in:

Everything We Know About Zack Snyder's REBEL MOON

Yes, it’s both the first on our list and the first ship ever seen in the “Star Wars” franchise. The Rebel blockade runner, AKA the Tantive IV, is mainly known for being unsuccessful in escaping the Imperials and being boarded early in the first film. But if Leia hadn’t sent R2-D2 away in one of the capital ship’s escape pods with the plans to the insidious Death Star, they would have perished along with the ship. That and the beauty of the ship’s stark white interior make this, also called a CR90 corvette, an easy pick.

#9: Sandcrawler

The favored vehicle of the Jawas, this machine rumbles along on tank-like treads to traverse rough desert terrain. It may not be sleek or beautiful, but this triumph of function over form is still sinister enough in its own way to worry new viewers when R2 was sucked into the belly of the beast. After the Jawas meet an unfortunate end, the sturdy Sandcrawler appears to have suffered nothing more than a few scorch marks.

#8: Speeder Bike

As you’d expect from the name, the speeder bike is astonishingly fast. So fast in fact that in the thrilling scene where we see them for the first time, nobody manages to successfully bring one to a stop, preferring instead to crash them into trees. When used properly and without distractions, the hover bike can hurtle along at tremendous speeds and over troublesome terrain. Frankly, we want one.

#7: Slave I

There is only one ship worthy of a bounty hunter like Boba Fett and that’s this one. Like his father before him, he uses the Slave I to cause the good guys no end of grief. It’s able to keep pace with the Millennium Falcon and nearly blows Obi-Wan Kenobi to bits in an asteroid field 25 years before that. Aside from anything else, it’s just plain cool and it’s the ship all the bad kids wanted to play around with.

#6: Snowspeeder

These fast and light craft are the only things that stopped the Imperials from wiping out the Rebel force on Hoth. Specially adapted to stand up to the icy cold of the planet, these two-man vehicles use teamwork and coordination to hold off the giant invading force. Though the defense was always doomed to fail, they did their best and put up a valiant fight, which was more than enough to earn these T-47 airspeeders a place on our list.

#5: TIE Fighter

Top 10 Worst CGI in Star Wars Movies

Though there have been many variants of the TIE Fighter, like the extremely fast TIE Interceptor or Darth Vader’s hyperspace capable TIE Advanced x1, the basic fighters with their howling engines are still more than a match for the Rebel Alliance’s forces. Even without Vader’s help, a team of them comes close to destroying the Rebels in their initial assault on the Death Star, and they remain a constant source of menace throughout the original trilogy.

#4: Star Destroyer

Top 10 Scenes That Ruined Star Wars for Fans

While we really liked Lucasfilm’s Super Star Destroyer, as seen in “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return Of The Jedi,” it is however the Star Destroyer that people think of when they think of the evil Empire. This, more than any other ship, had an impact on crowds of moviegoers. From the moment it rumbles onto screen, the audience knows that these are the bad guys and they have the firepower to back it up. The ship is immense and it can do a lot of damage.

#3: All Terrain Armored Transport

Top 10 Star Wars Moments That Made Us Cry

Though our natural instinct as filmgoers is to root for the rebels, when we see vehicles like the AT-AT, it’s hard not to rethink things just a little bit. This awesome vehicle walks across the ice fields of Hoth and easily lays waste to the Rebel base, causing our heroes a serious setback. The only thing that stopped total devastation was the Rebels’ strength at exploiting weaknesses and design flaws; in this case, employing a futuristic version of the old ‘tying your shoes together’ trick.

#2: X-wing Starfighter

Interview with X-Wing Pilot Greg Grunberg - MojoConnects

This fighter, first seen in the epic battle against the Death Star, has it all. It’s got speed, maneuverability and enough weaponry to hold its own against the best that the Imperial forces can send at them. More specifically, the Incom T-65 X-wing is known as ‘the fighter that killed the Death Star’ – and for good reason, as it did it twice. There isn’t a “Star Wars” fan alive that wouldn’t want to own a life-sized one. Were it not for our next pick, this would easily be top of our list. Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions. Anakin Skywalker’s Podracer Naboo Royal N-1 Starfighter Lambda-class T-4a Shuttle Droid Tank All-Terrain Scout Transport/Assault

#1: Millennium Falcon

Our number one pick is none other than the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy. Though it may appear lumbering and slow, it can outmaneuver TIE Fighters through narrow canyons and packs some serious firepower, even when Han Solo didn’t pilot it in “Return Of The Jedi.” A million voices cried out in joy when it made an appearance doing some atmospheric gymnastics in “The Force Awakens” trailer. No other ship comes close to matching it for iconic status and that’s why it’s the top of our list. Do you agree with our list? What’s your favorite Star Wars vehicle?
