Top 10 The Voice Winners: Where Are They Now?
VOICE OVER: Sophia Franklin WRITTEN BY: Don Ekama
We've been thinking about "The Voice" winners. Where are they now? For this list, we'll be checking in on some of the winners of this popular singing competition series, and seeing what they've been up to since they emerged victorious. Our countdown includes Cam Anthony, Josh Kaufman, Jordan Smith, and more!

#10: Cam Anthony

Like many young music stars, Cam Anthony first found success uploading song covers on YouTube. His viral fame led to his appearance, and eventual win, on the FOX revival of “Showtime at the Apollo.” After moving to LA, Anthony made it on the twentieth season of “The Voice,” under Blake Shelton’s guidance. His undeniable charisma, stage presence, and masterful voice carried him all the way to the finals, where he delivered winning performances of Cynthia Erivo’s “Stand Up” and Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead or Alive.” Following his win, Anthony was one of the performers at the 2021 Philadelphia Welcome America Festival, alongside Bebe Rexha and Flo Rida. He also sang the national anthem at the 2022 AFC wild-card game.

#9: Chevel Shepherd

At just 16, Chevel Shepherd auditioned for “The Voice,” and received chair turns from Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, and Blake Shelton. Shepherd opted for Team Kelly and had a phenomenal run on the show’s fifteenth season, where she proved to be a true fan favorite. Her incredible renditions of country hits like Kacey Musgraves’ “Space Cowboy” and LeAnn Rimes’ “Blue” all but handed her the win that season. In 2021, she released her debut album “Everybody’s Got a Story.” The album’s title track was written by country music heavyweights Musgraves, Brandy Clark, and Shane McAnally. Shepherd brought her vocal skills to the big screen, appearing as a young singer in B. J. Novak’s 2022 film “Vengeance.”

#8: Alisan Porter

While she is now famous as the winner of the tenth season of “The Voice,” Alisan Porter’s first foray into entertainment was through the movies. The actress, singer, and songwriter broke into Hollywood with her lead role as a child star in 1991’s “Curly Sue.” Porter began pursuing music in adulthood, releasing her debut self-titled album in 2009. In 2016, she competed on the tenth season of “The Voice,” and became the first singer on the show to ever win with a female coach. Her victory was soon followed by a 2017 EP titled “I Come in Pieces” and a full-length album “Pink Cloud,” which was released two years later.

#7: Tessanne Chin

Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Tessanne Chin appeared on the fifth season of “The Voice” and won with the highest number of votes ever recorded, at the time. In the year following her win, Chin performed several shows across the Caribbean islands and other parts of the Americas. In 2014, she was part of a star-studded lineup that sang at the White House in celebration of women in soul music. Her major label debut album came that same year in the form of “Count On My Love,” which hit #41 on Billboard’s Top 200 albums. While she hasn’t released a lot of new music in recent years, Chin has an active YouTube channel, where she uploads mouth-watering cooking videos.

#6: Javier Colon

Years after launching his music career as the lead vocalist of The Derek Trucks Band, Javier Colon won the first ever American season of “The Voice.” As part of his prize package, Colon signed a deal with Universal Republic Records and released his third full-length album “Come Through For You.” Due to less than enthusiastic support for the album, Colon announced his departure from Universal Republic, just one year after signing with them. He moved on to Concord Music Group in 2014, under which he released his fourth album “Gravity” two years later. During the COVID-19 lockdown, Colon launched a Quarantine Concert Series, which streamed live on Facebook. Recently, he has put out song covers on his Instagram page.

#5: Brynn Cartelli

When Brynn Cartelli first auditioned for “The Voice,” she surprisingly wasn’t selected to compete on that season. She returned shortly after and ended up winning the show’s fourteenth season at just 15, making her the youngest winner in the show’s history. Cartelli formed a strong bond with her “The Voice” coach Kelly Clarkson, and signed up to be managed by Clarkson’s own manager and then-husband. She also opened for the “American Idol” winner on her Meaning of Life Tour. She has released a slew of singles since her win, and in 2021, her debut EP “Based on a True Story” peaked in the top ten of the iTunes Charts.

#4: Josh Kaufman

After his audition for the sixth season of “The Voice,” Josh Kaufman received turns from all four judges and picked Adam Levine as his coach. He was later defeated in the second battle round competition, but was stolen by Usher. Kaufman ended up winning the season, becoming the first stolen contestant to win the competition. Following a few music festival appearances in his home base of Indiana, Kaufman found success on Broadway, with a performance in the 2013 revival of “Pippin.” In 2017, he also sang in the “Home For the Holidays, Live on Broadway” show at the August Wilson Theater. Kaufman continues to make music both with his band The New Etiquette, and as a solo artist.

#3: Jordan Smith

Jordan Smith set several iTunes sales records during his winning run on the ninth season of “The Voice.” Smith sent three of his performances on the show to the top of the iTunes charts, ahead of renowned music stars like Adele. His debut album “Something Beautiful” was released three months after he won the show and received positive reviews from critics. It peaked at #2 on Billboard’s Top 200, just behind “The Voice” coach Gwen Stefani’s album. Smith lent his songwriting skills to Celine Dion’s “Ashes,” which she performed for the “Deadpool 2” soundtrack. In 2022, he appeared on the Eurovision-inspired competition series “American Song Contest,” where he placed third with his original song “Sparrow.”

#2: Danielle Bradbery

When she won the fourth season of “The Voice” back in 2013, Danielle Bradbery became the first teenage winner and, at the time, the youngest artist to emerge victorious. Her self-titled debut album was released soon after and reached the top five on the Billboard Country Albums chart. She was selected as the voice of the 2014 Winter Olympics promo, and her song “My Day” was used in the marketing campaign for the Games. She also performed the song “Blackout” for the soundtrack to the 2019 film “Charlie's Angels.” Her most recent record, a compilation album titled “In Between: The Collection” was released in March of 2022.

#1: Cassadee Pope

This Florida singer and songwriter had already spent years as the lead vocalist of the rock band Hey Monday, before appearing on “The Voice.” Cassadee Pope competed on the third season as part of Blake Shelton’s team and became the first female winner of the show. Her debut solo album “Frame by Frame” was released the very next year to critical and commercial success. In 2017, Pope proved that she was not yet done setting records when she became the first “The Voice” contestant to be nominated for a Grammy. “Think of You,” her duet with Chris Young earned a nod that year for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. She has since released two studio albums titled “Stages” and “Thrive.”
