Shortly thereafter, Laird reveals he intends to ask for Stephanie’s hand in marriage and embarks on a mission to prove himself worthy. From the mind of Jonah Hill and produced by Ben Stiller, this relatable and fun-loving comedy is sure to be a hit this Christmas.

The latest psychological thriller from Tom Ford stars Amy Adams as an art gallery owner named Susan Morrow tormented by her ex-husband’s novel. Jake Gyllenhaal plays Edward Sheffield, Adams’ former spouse and author of a violent book that is perceived by Morrow as a threat. Ford’s distinct visual and narrative techniques, seen previously in A Single Man, return to the silver screen in this delightful yet disturbing film. The movie, as well as the performances of several cast members, have all been highly praised by critics, which means we know we’re in for a gripping time at the theatre.

And you thought Vine stars weren't really celebrities... Here to prove you all wrong is Vine sensation Cameron Dallas. Dallas secured his own 10-episode Netflix show titled Chasing Cameron. Announced in late October, the series will center on the dramatic moments behind a social media celeb’s quest to take his career to the next level. Featuring fellow influencers, Taylor Caniff, Aaron Carpenter, and Willie Jones, this unique spin on a classic reality show is sure to pique the interest of social media-obsessed millennials. There is definitely some post-Christmas binge-watching in order.

NBC's latest live-action experience will see the 2002 hit Broadway musical adapted to the small screen. The theatrical performance will be lead by Kristin Chenoweth as Velma Von Tussle, Jennifer Hudson as Motormouth Maybelle, Ariana Grande as Penny Pingleton, and newcomer Maddie Baillio as Tracy Turnblad. Featuring an ensemble cast of nearly 50 performers, this is sure to be quite the show. Get your vocal chords ready because come December, you won’t be able to resist belting out “You Can’t Stop The Beat” and “Good Morning Baltimore.”

Telling the story of Jacqueline Kennedy in the days leading up to and immediately following her husband’s assassination, this biographical drama from Pablo Larrain is sure to be a hit with the Academy. Natalie Portman stars in the film’s title role, and by the looks of the trailer, she is the mirror image of the former First Lady dressed in her signature pink Chanel suit. Portman reportedly spent months pouring over tapes and video footage in order to get inside the character. Premiering at the Venice Film Festival to rave reviews, be sure to catch this historical drama in theatres this December.
#5: “America’s Next Top Model - Cycle 23”

Upon hearing the news that this popular reality show was being cancelled last October, we thought we would never recover. Lucky for us, it was announced in February 2016 that the series had been picked up by VH1. Back this December for its 23rd cycle, we can all breathe a sigh of relief. While Tyra Banks is not returning as the show’s host and leading judge, British singer Rita Ora will be taking her place. Alongside a cohort of judges including Ashley Graham, Drew Elliott, and Law Roach, we can expect a lot of drama this upcoming season.
#4: “Passengers”

Jennifer Lawrence returns to the big screen in this American romantic sci-fi thriller from Morten Tyldum. Co-starring Chris Pratt, the film take place aboard a futuristic spaceship sent on a 120-year voyage to a new planet. Part way through the journey, two hibernation pods malfunction causing Lawrence and Pratt’s characters to wake up 90 years early. Though little is known about this space romance, by the looks of the trailer it’s going to be quite an emotional flick. Rounded out by Michael Sheen and Laurence Fishburne in supporting roles, Passengers is sure to draw in crowds this holiday season.
#3: “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show”

It’s that time of year once again. The famous Victoria’s Secret angels will once again walk the runway for the beloved lingerie brand’s annual fashion show. Whether you’re into fashion or not, this event is going to be a who’s who of the biggest celebrities in the world. In terms of models, Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, and Kendall Jenner are confirmed. As per usual, there will be several musical guests including Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, and The Weeknd. Taking place in Paris, this year’s show is happening on December 5th, and we for one, can’t think of a better way to kick off the holiday season.

Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling star in this year’s most anticipated musical. After early screenings at Telluride and TIFF, the modern-day musical from Damien Chazelle has already generated Oscar buzz. Stone plays Mia, an aspiring actress but current barista, while Gosling plays Sebastien, a jazz-obsessed musician. The two meet and fall in love but then struggle to keep things together as they chase their dreams. A throwback to the musicals of the 1930s, 40s, and 50s, La La Land is guaranteed to be one of the most remarkable movies of 2016.
#1: “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”

The Star Wars franchise has made quite the comeback. The second film of the epic sci-fi series to be released in two years, Rogue One stars Academy-Award nominee Felicity Jones in the title role of Jyn Erso. The first stand-alone film inthe Star Wars anthology, this space opera follows Jyn as she is recruited to join the Rebel Alliance, a group of rebel spies on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star. Get your light saber ready, you’re not going to want to miss the latest tale from the Star Wars universe.
