Top 10 Times Anime Characters Revealed Their True Strength

“Bungo Stray Dogs” (2016-19)

Up until this point, Dazai had been nothing more than a plucky, comic relief character with a tendency to ruffle feathers. It was only during his confrontation with the Port Mafia did he let the veil slip and show just how dangerous he was. Not only was he able to instantly undo something like Rashomon thanks to his nullification ability, but exuded a level of threat never before seen. Though what else do you expect from a former member of Port Mafia’s elites? Akutagawa got off lightly.

#9: Slap Happy

“Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious” (2019)

Hey, Seiya is the kind of hero that believes in equality for all. And that means he’s content to make everyone’s lives miserable no matter their race or gender. Case and point, when he responded in a rather…decisive manner after the knight Rosalie tried to lash out at him. While Ristarte and the others can only look on in horror, Seiya holds nothing back and slaps the young Roseguard until her face swells up. Might seem a bit on the excessive side but damn if it isn’t funny.

#8: Adios Harribel

“Bleach” (2004-12)

Leave it to Aizen and his evil mullet to pull a stunt like this. You’d think by now the denizens of Soul Society would be desensitised to his cruelty, but then he pulls a stunt like this. Tired of watching his Espada fail against the Shinigami, Aizen decides to finish the job for them and takes down Harribel – the one remaining warrior who had been holding her own! It’s another yet another betrayal and monumental ego on Aizen’s part, only this time he took out best girl!

#7: Putting Goku In His Place

“Dragon Ball Super” (2015-18)

With his fondness for food and more light-hearted approach things, it can be easy to forget that Beerus is indeed a God of Destruction, and not one to be toyed with. Evidently Goku forgot all about this, as in his excitement to meet Zeno and discuss plans for a multiverse tournament, earns a legit threat from Beerus, who debates eliminating him then and there. Since this kitty can disintegrate whole planets on a dime, there’s zero doubt that he could waste Goku then and there.

#6: Lower Moon Lay Offs

“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” (2019)

The lord of all demons may be ruthless against his enemies, but he’s downright sadistic when it comes to his own henchmen. Wholly dissatisfied with the lower half that make up the Twelve Demon Moons, Muzan decides that it’s time to go cooperate and remove them from their positions. And by that, we mean tear them to pieces. No matter how much the bargain, beg or attempt to run away, in the end they’re ripped apart by the one they swore to serve. All the while he’s dressed in drag. Next level savagery there.

#5: Hammer Time
“Attack on Titan” (2013-)

Eren’s trip to Marley was certainly an explosive one, though he didn’t leave without a souvenir. With its ability to create hardened matter instantly, the War Hammer Titan seemed to be nigh unstoppable, even capable of skewering the Attack Titan on the spot. Eren, however, is nothing if not resourceful. After hunting down the War Hammer’s host body, he uses the captured Jaw Titan like a living nutcracker, tearing the War Hammer’s vessel into blood chunks, and gulping it down like a smoothie. Messy yet effective.

#4: A True Vampire
“Hellsing Ultimate” (2006-12)

If there’s one thing that Alucard loves above all else, it’s the chance to get down and bloody with someone who has the potential to end his unlife. As the Hellsing manor is attacked by the Valentine brothers, Alucard relishes the opportunity to duke it out, not even bothering to move as he’s blasted to pieces by Luke’s weapon and blistering speed. Of course, this proved to be just a warmup. With his restrictions temporarily lifted, Alucard shows Luke what it means to play with the big dogs.

#3: The Food Chain
“Hunter x Hunter” (2011-14)

It says a lot when, moments after you’re born, you quash a mini rebellion, re-establish the pecking order, and do so with nothing more than a menacing smile. Despite a slender build and resemblance to a kitty, Neferpitou still held the title and power of one of the royal guards, well beyond the miniscule abilities demonstrated by Rammot. When the bunny made a proclamation that his Nen would be strong enough to dethrone the Chimera Ant King, Pitou stepped in to put him in his place.

#2: Fear the Purple
“Jujutsu Kaisen” (2020-)

One does not simple block out Satoru Gojo. He may be the cockiest bastard to ever invest in a blindfold, but no one can deny that his arrogance is unfounded. The man has control over infinity, there’s nothing he can’t break. Despite being held at bay by a specially devised barrier meant to keep him out, it takes him very little time for him to crack and work his way inside. And what’s the first thing he does? Conjures an attack that instantly wipes out the Curse that everyone had been struggling against. Show off.

#1: Ending the War
“One Piece” (1999-)

You know you’re a cut above the rest when you can put an end an entire conflict just by showing up. With Ace and Whitebeard dead, the marines and pirate in total chaos, as well as Blackbeard’s nefarious plot to claim two Devil Fruit powers, there’s a very real threat of everyone at Marineford winding up dead. At least until Red Haired Shanks shows up, puts Akainu in his place and tells everyone to calm the hell down. It’s a true testament to Shanks’ status and strength as a Yonkou. Nobody messes with this guy.
