#10: Harry Partridge youtube.com/HarryPartridge

Top 10 Hilarious Harry Potter Parodies

- Harry Partridge is a channel run by animator…wait for it…Harry Partridge. Although in the past he collaborated with Nintendo and College Humor, his home channel still receives some love as a platform for his own personal work. - Many of you might have seen his most popular video, a response to the first teaser for Skyrim. Now…this holds a special place in my heart because as a long time fan of Elder Scrolls, this was totally me when I saw that first trailer…he really nailed it. But it doesn’t stop there – a lot of his most recent videos, albeit in the past year or two, is based on videogames, so if that’s your bag, there’s plenty of hilarious stuff here. - One thing you’ll notice is that Harry often incorporates an original song and lyrics into his videos, making them all the more impressive from a writer’s standpoint. - Although he doesn’t upload all that often, he does have at least 2 ongoing series, or at least recurring characters: Starbarians and Dr Bees. Both of which are pretty darn weird but…hey, this is animation countdown after all.

#9: Domics youtube.com/D0MICS

- Domics is a channel run by a young Canadian man who also goes by the name of Domics, who essentially started this channel as an extension of a comic strip he used to do on Tumblr. - Domics describes his video as a sort of “draw my life” channel – and that’s really what it is. A lot of his animations are used to illustrate certain aspects of his life, both past and present. Of course, others are just concerned with stuff like…butts...but I guess that’s part of life too right? - Like a lot of animation channels, the animation and voice work are both pretty simple, but they mesh together really nicely to give the jokes a decent amount of punch. It’s a technique that you’ll see a lot as we go through this list, but Domics is definitely one of the best examples.

#8: FilmCow youtube.com/SecretAgentBob

- At some point in your high school career, chances are that somebody shared a “Charlie the Unicorn” video – and either you thought it was the funniest thing in the world or you sat there blinking before confessing that you didn’t get it. Either way, Charlie the Unicorn first found life on our next pick, the FilmCow channel. - Although Charlie has since retired, FilmCow and its creator Jason Steel have kept busy with a number of other equally irreverent series’, series like Lamas with Hats, Ghost House and Fanny and Earl. What’s most fun and pretty impressive about all this is that each series has its own unique style of animation – although you’ll surely recognize the same voices carrying over from show to show. - Animation is very time consuming, so its especially noteworthy that FilmCow publishes a new video every other Saturday. While this might not seem like a huge amount, in the spectrum of other animation channels and how long it takes them to produce new content, this is remarkably consistent.

#7: Simon's Cat youtube.com/simonscat

Also in:

Origins of Simon Belmont and the Belmont Clan

- Another channel who’s viral videos you’ve surely stumbled upon at one point or another, coming in at #7 is Simon’s Cat, which chronicles the misadventures of …wait for it…Simon and his cat. - While other channels seem to tackle every random topic under the sun, this channel is remarkably focused. Basically an ode to cat owners everywhere, series creator Simon Tofield uses his four real life cats for the inspiration he needs to illustrate the foibles of feline ownership. - What makes these videos so popular, aside from their obvious cute factor, is the uncanny way in which Simon is able to animate the cat in question. Anyone who’s ever owned, or even just known a cat for a long time will instantly recognize the little mannerisms and behaviors that these furry companions exude and have been perfectly recreated in these videos. It’s all very cute, but the real appeal lies in how truthful it is.

#6: TomSka youtube.com/TomSka

- Up next is one of the only channels we’ll see today that actually features a fair amount of live action content as well. But, seeing as TomSka hosts 2 different styles of animation on his channel as well as his other content, we figured it’d be safe to include him anyway. - Some of you may remember TomSka from out Comedy channels list way back in last year…but as I said, he’s got 2 different styles of animation on his channel, which is what we’re most concerned with today. - The first is his “asdf” series. Ultra simplistic and super random, those of you that are familiar with Rejected Cartoons and Cyanide and Happiness should have a pretty good idea of what this is like. - Now, the second style of animation he hosts on his channel is slightly higher production value, but just as random. Now, it’s actually a bit of an oversimplification to lump all of these together, since he clearly works with a number of different animators to bring these skits to life. That said, if you’re a fan of his other work, Tomska’s batch of cartoons are all in the same vein and worth a look.

#5: OneyNG youtube.com/OneyNG

- At number 5 things, the cartoons we’re looking at are starting to get longer and make more sense. Just kidding, it only gets weirder from here - Most of the cartoon’s you’ll find on this channel are ultra short. Rather than try to point out something clever or deliver a series of jokes, the shorts are generally designed around a single joke or punchline. They’re super random, but their quickly, punchy nature makes it easy to binge on a whole bunch without getting sick of a specific idea. - We unfortunately can’t place Oney any higher because he doesn’t post videos very consistently...but that’s not to say this channel isn’t worth checking out for what’s already there.

#4: MondoMedia youtube.com/MondoMedia

- By now you might have noticed that while a lot of these channels have tons of great content, they can’t really afford to update all that frequently. Well, here to address that problem is our next pick, Mondo Media. - The self proclaimed largest animation channel on YouTube, Mondo media doesn’t just feature the work of one or two animators, but rather from a whole bunch of em’. This not only allows them to feature a number of different shows and styles, but also means they update much more frequently than some of their smaller peers. - Monda is sort like the Adult Swim or Canada’s Teletoon of the Internet. Chances are you’ll probably like one or two of their shows, but not necessarily every single one. Athough they have over a dozen different series, the ones that seem to be the most popular are Dick Figures and the deceptively violent Happy Tree Friends. Did I mention this channel is not suitable for kids?

#3: Egoraptor youtube.com/egoraptor

- After several channels that seem to follow no central theme or subject, it’s nice to land on an entry that’s a little more focused: not to say that it’s any less weird tho… - Focusing primarily on Videogames and Nerd culture, Egoraptor’s most popular series is “The Awesome Series, where he parodies subjects videogames and answers the age old question: what would this game be like if everyone was swearing all the time? - Aside from the awesome series, egoraptor has features some really intense rap battles, some of which are even more technical than the epic rap battles of history we saw a few weeks ago. - Funnily enough, the video that’s currently his most popular is actually one that he did in collaboration with OneyNG, who you’ll remember from earlier on. Man, Pikachu’s kind of an asshole.

#2: ExplosmEntertainment youtube.com/ExplosmEntertainment

- Remember how I said that one of the shows we saw earlier was kinda like Cyanide and Happiness? Well that was sort of a silly analogy to use, because this next entry IS Cyanide in Happiness. Go Figure. - For those of you who are terribly confused by all this, Cyanide and Happiness began life as a webcomic before making the move to full motion video. Anyone who’s been a fan of the irreverent comics should be delighted with this channel, as the art style and humor have survived the transition nicely. - If this is your thing, there’s technically two ways to consume the content on this channel. There’s the Cyanide & Happiness shorts, which are self contained shorts that are about a minute or so long. Then there’s the Cyanide and Happiness show, which is a technically a collection of shorts that transition into each other for longer episodes. Before we get to our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions HM1 CartoonHangover youtube.com/CartoonHangover HM2 psychicpebbles youtube.com/psychicpebbles HM3 hotdiggedydemon youtube.com/hotdiggedydemon HM4 Gonzossm youtube.com/Gonzossm HM5 Animation Domination High-Def youtube.com/FOXADHD HM6 Keshen8 youtube.com/Keshen8

#1: How It Should Have Ended youtube.com/HISHEdotcom

Also in:

Top 10 Controversial YouTube Channels - TopX

- Rarely is there a channel that’s so perfectly explained by it’s name alone, but I guess that’s part of the appeal of our Number 1 Pick, How it Should have Ended. - Although the channel has now blossomed into a much larger beast with different types of shows and comedy shorts, how it should have ended began with a very simple concept. Cartoons that show how a movie should have ended. Somewhat similar to Cinema Sins’ ‘Everything Wrong With’ videos, these usually contain rather clever observations about plot holes and inconsistencies in blockbuster movies – often of the superhero variety. - Actually, if you wanna get specific, they’ve broken their videos down into playlists by genre, so if you only wanna focus on Superhero stuff, Videogame stuff or Recent Blockbusters, they’ve got you covered. - Last but not least, HISHE is also a very consistent publisher, something that helps them secure their top spot. The best YouTube Channels are the ones you can keep coming back to for new stuff, and as of now, there’s no END in sight for HISHE.
