Who needs a TV when you have a laptop? For this list, we'll be taking a look at the episodic and/or serialized shows that have made their debut on or were taken on by YouTube and subsequent went to draw in viewers from all over the world. Whether the series is funny, sad, dramatic, scary, or a combination of genres, if it's entertaining, it's eligible for this list. Our list includes “Bite Me,” “Eighty-Sixed,” “Mortal Kombat: Legacy,” “Baman Piderman,” “Kicking Dan Out” and more! Join MsMojo as we count down our picks for the Top 10 YouTube Series You Should Be Watching.

#10: “Bite Me”

We can never get enough of zombies. Well, maybe we can, but this series puts a comedic spin on the genre that we don’t see too often, which makes it enticing. More crude than “Zombieland”, and just as silly as “Shaun of the Dead”, “Bite Me” targets a specific audience and has viewers laughing while simultaneously cringing at the shenanigans the characters find themselves in. The second season doubles down on the laughs, gore, writing, and production value. If you’re looking for something light and entertaining, then “Bite Me” is a sure hit.

#9: “Video Game High School”

WatchMojo's Best of 2018 BINGE VIDEO

Hooking you from the first episode, “VGHS” manages to draw intrigue into its world with its emphasis on the impact gaming has in it. Its contents aren’t such a far-fetched idea, as we’re seeing gaming become more and more prominent as a sport in the media. The web-series not only gives us an entertaining view into gaming as a lifestyle, but it also encompasses what it feels like to go to a new school, have pressure on you to perform well, and balance relationships and a social life, making it hit close to home on a number of occasions.

#8: “I Hate Being Single”

How India Dominates YouTube

We can explain almost everything in this world with science, past experiences, history, and practical applications. While we may have an idea about love, human emotions, and human interactions, some situations just can’t be explained. “I Hate Being Single” does a great job of exploring this notion and offers a fun way on how to move on from it. With great acting, awkward situations, and a character so out of touch with being single that we can’t help but root for him every episode, “I Hate Being Single” has to be on your to-watch list.

#7: “Kicking Dan Out”

This dark and offensively hilarious series is short and sweet. It’s just the perfect length to laugh at how terrible a person Dan is before we actually start to like him. Hey, if you like him from the start, that’s cool too. Just don’t be him, please. Each episode finds our titular character managing to get kicked out of situations that just aren’t really suited to his character. How he finds himself being let in in the first place is beyond us, but thankfully he doesn’t overstay his welcome.

#6: “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl”

Also in:

Top 10 True Crime Series of 2022

Full of relatable situations and feelings, “Awkward Black Girl” is a refreshing watch. You’ll find yourself nodding your head at pretty much all of the narration. It doesn’t hold anything back, confronting issues that generally may be left alone. Seemingly regular day-to-day activities spout some incredible and awkward interactions that you can’t help but watch. With episodes racking millions of views and finding audiences all over the world, it transformed into the HBO series “Insecure”, giving the makers a much bigger platform with higher production values to get their stories across.

#5: “Baman Piderman”

There’s just something so charming about the series’ nonsensical chain of events. You’ve never seen Batman and Spiderman quite like this – unless you’ve been to a costume party full of drunk people. Featuring an ensemble of characters like Tuba and Pumpkin, and featuring episodes averaging a few minutes in length, the cartoon doesn’t get stale. It’s the perfect thing to watch when you’re on the train, or your mac and cheese has a couple of minutes left in the microwave. You may actually find yourself watching all the episodes in one sitting, however. You’ve been warned.

#4: “Mortal Kombat: Legacy”

If incredibly high production values, intense action scenes, and a connection to a beloved video game series is something you’re after, then look no further than “Mortal Kombat: Legacy”. It features just enough backstory for each of its characters without dragging on too much, so we can get to the fight scenes that hold emotional weight to them, rather than just admiring how cool they look, but boy, do they look cool. If you only care about certain characters, then you can watch their episodes without feeling obliged to watch the rest of the series, which makes it as accessible to fans as possible.

#3: “Eighty-Sixed”

Another series that deals with life post-breakup, its comedy feels all too real. It features the type of scenarios that makes you unsure if you want to laugh or cry and pushes it slightly over to the laugh side. Creator and star Cazzie David brings a natural and unforced approach to filmmaking that it makes you feel like you’re there as an observer to her life, rather than watching a scripted show. Plus, while each episode references the overall plot, they can be enjoyed on their own without feeling lost.

#2: “H+: The Digital Series”

Top 10 YA Fantasy Novels & Series

If a show poses questions about where we may be headed as a society, while maintaining its entertainment value, then you have a winner. H+ is a mysterious sci-fi thriller series that has you connecting the dots between every episode. If you’re thinking of having a computer chip implanted the first chance it becomes available, maybe watch this first. If you haven’t heard of it before, now’s a good time to jump in. It was maddening waiting for the next episode to come out when it started. Now you can enjoy the full story uninterrupted!

#1: “Single By 30”

If you’re on the fence about joining YouTube Red, watching this first episode for free will make you a sure converter. Episode 1, which is a remake of the original pilot by the same creators, has two best friends in high-school that make a pact to marry each other if they’re both still single by thirty. Fast forward to just before one of them is thirty, and things begin to get a little complicated. Funny, heartwarming, and relatable, “Single By 30” boasts a talented cast and production crew, and features two leads with great chemistry.
