Kicking off our countdown is the Sega’s arcade light gun shooter that sucked up an ocean of quarters before shuffling its way to the home consoles! Playing a secret agent out to stop the creations of a mad scientist, there’s nothing like being guided on rails while rapidly firing hot lead. We especially dig “Overkill”, the 2009 installment with the grindhouse vibe that brought that delivered countless laughs and buckets of outrageous horror cheese.

This is one seriously ambitious Zombie romp. ZombiU does what other survivor horrors don’t. It literally kills you with little more than a single bite! Each time you die, you return as a different London-based survivor guided by a mysterious third party, and forces you to retrieve your rucksack of supplies. Adding to the intensity is the fact that game that doesn’t pause while you look down at the game pad to sort your gear!

This is what happens when you take the most beautiful Holiday Island vacation resort and add zombies! An open-world environment with a decidedly low supply of guns, it forces you to take on the undead at close range in remarkably crunchy melee combat. You wouldn’t think that a zombie apocalypse would make a good setting for an RPG, but you’d be wrong.

In Left for Dead, the zombie’s are running, you and up to three friends are running, and the A.I. director is behind the scenes masterfully running the whole show. On top of all that, it Left 4 Dead gives Dead Rising a run for its money in terms of sheer body count, and expertly forces you to work together so your luck doesn’t run out.

#3- Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare (2010)

It’s time for the expansion that redefined, or rather, resurrected, the sprawling open-world landscape of America’s Old West. Released as both DLC and a stand-alone title, it filled the world with zombies and tasked you with saving towns, burning graves and finding the cure! Few things are as thrilling as encountering an undead horde while riding horseback and packing a six-shooter!
