#20: Mary
Sinners (2025)
Hailee Steinfelds transformation from an it girl to a movie vamp left our jaws hanging. Her character in Sinners, Mary, gives the film heart and heat. Despite Marys African American heritage, she passes as Caucasian, but it isnt exactly much of a privilege. Shes a woman scorned, left behind by her lover, Stack, played by Michael B. Jordan. He doesnt envision a future with her in the racist political climate of the thirties. So, she yearns for belonging, and that desire becomes her downfall as shes turned into a vampire. Sassy ex or unhinged seductress, Mary is a vision we just cant get enough of.
#19: Mae
Near Dark (1987)
Vampire films from the eighties have a way of pulling you in. Kathryn Bigelows Near Dark is no exception. In it, Jenny Wright gives us a sublime portrayal of the effortlessly dreamy Mae, whos too much of a sweetheart to be your typical vampire. She bites Adrian Pasdars Caleb, but also protects him from her bloodthirsty peers as a warm romance blooms between their cold bodies. Her heart might not be beating, but her feelings are profound, and she doesnt hesitate to sacrifice herself for Caleb. By the end of the film, shes no longer a vampire, but her charm remains timeless.
#18: Eva & Grace
Night Teeth (2021)
The joint slay that Sydney Sweeney and Megan Fox deliver in this film is out of this world. As boss babe vampires Eva and Grace, the actresses are drop-dead gorgeous and sassy to boot. Their screen presence is so magnetic that even with just one scene, they leave us swooning. We get why Netflix could only give them such a short cameo, though. They had to make sure we didnt get distracted. However, we cant help but wish these two got a spin-off of their own. Even if its just their spunky banter on display, wed happily watch for hours on end.
#17: Vampire Girl
Plan 9 from Outer Space (1957)
Having the one and only Vampira, a.k.a. Maila Nurmi, star in his horror film had to have been a major win for director Ed Wood. Without a doubt, her presence elevated Plan 9 from Outer Space to a whole new level. She opted out of having dialogues in her role as Vampire Girl, but her unmatched aura was enough to catch the eye. Nurmi later revealed that the costume department had handed her a shabby outfit for her scenes. Nevertheless, the iconic horror hostess, wasp-waisted with a gothic glow, was arguably the best part of the film.
#16: Ava
Only Lovers Left Alive (2013)
Jim Jarmusch is well-known for bringing the most surreal aesthetics to life in his films. In Only Lovers Left Alive, this criterion is fulfilled by three stunning vampires: Tom Hiddlestons Adam, Tilda Swintons Eve, and Mia Wasikowskas Ava. It is the latter who shakes up Adam and Eves quietly infinite existence with her rebellious streak. Shes the bad girl of the bunch, free-spirited and reckless, with no remorse. However, its not because she lacks morality. She is simply more submissive to her instincts and urges as a vampire. The raw authenticity in Ava is the very quality that endears her to the audience.
#15: Clara Webb
Byzantium (2012)
Mother is mothering. Gemma Arterton as Clara in Byzantium is the epitome of fierceness. Shes a no-nonsense woman in a society hell-bent on bringing her down. On the brink of death, vampirism was her lifeline. Since then, its been her and her daughter, Eleanor, against the world, and no one can dare touch her baby girlnot on her watch. Clara does whatever it takes to protect her, even if it means turning her into a vampire or fighting the entire Brethren, an elite coven of vampires out to get them. Through it all, shes a femme fatale in the truest sense of the word. Gemmas ravishing beauty is in a league of its own.
#14: Katrina
Vampires (1998)
One look and wed surrender. Sheryl Lee is a force of nature as Katrina in John Carpenter's Vampires. From her wavy blonde mane to her alluring saunter while on the hunt for victims as a freshly-turned vampire, Katrina entrances the audience at once. Despite being manhandled by characters like Jack Crow and Tony Montoya, she never appears to be reduced to a plot device. This is partly because Lees portrayal of the character is grounded in conviction. As such, Katrina manages to be equal parts intimidating and irresistible, with enough gravity to anchor the film.
#13: Carla Lynde
The House That Dripped Blood (1971)
Ingrid Pitts name alone is enough to evoke the image of eternal elegance. In The House That Dripped Blood, she plays the perfectly innocent Carla, who later turns out to be a wicked vampire. The duality of her performance just makes her character even more exciting. Carla oozes glamor, has an impeccable sense of comedy, and her charisma is off the charts, making it impossible to take your eyes off of her. Her cheeky chemistry with Jon Pertwee, who plays her unsuspecting victim Paul Henderson, is a highlight of the film. Dominating any scene shes in, Pitt proves that shes truly one of a kind.
#12: Lilith
Bordello of Blood (1996)
The mother of vampires is second to none when it comes to being delightfully villainous. Angie Everharts Lilith in Bordello of Blood is evil incarnate. Shes irreverent with a devil-may-care attitude that you cant help but be drawn to. At the same time, the queen is creative with her murderous ways, which, although brutal, make for entertaining cinema. Another aspect of Liliths character that sets her apart is her wardrobe. Complete with silk, sparkles, and silver hoops galore, she is a fashion icon if weve ever seen one. Her auburn locks have a fandom of their own!
#11: Aleera, Verona, & Marishka
Van Helsing (2004)
Draculas brides are baddies through and through. Elena Anaya brings the fire as Aleera, Silvia Collocas Verona is poised and daunting, and Marishka, played by Josie Maran, is a temptress. Their unbreakable bond is akin to a sisterhood, and although they may not always get along, theyre undoubtedly stronger together. Shrouded in mystique, they have a hypnotizing effect on the audience. However, looks are deceiving, because despite their bewitching appearance, they leave their victims begging for the sweet relief of death. Needless to say, Count Dracula is a very lucky man.
#10: Rayne
BloodRayne (2005)
This character is not only loosely based on the video game of the same name, but is also probably the only vampire with a tan line. Like many of her fellow vampires on this list, she uses her body to wreak havoc on her victims, except that her sexy curves are used in mortal combat rather than seduction. Sure, the costumes and makeup dont really suit the 18th century Romanian setting, but who really cares when youve got a protagonist who looks and kicks ass like Rayne?
#9: Valerie Sharpe
Dracula 2000 (2000)
What made Valerie Sharpe hot as a human makes her a thousand times hotter as a blood-sucking vampire. Shes not the nicest reporter around, but with those curves and famous bedroom eyes, shes certainly the most attractive. Played by former Miss Illinois Jeri Ryan, this vampire, and many others on this list, shows that you dont have to be the main villain to make a lasting impression.
#8: Alice Cullen
Twilight franchise (2008-12)
Say what you want about the franchise, but this vampires perfect mixture of sexy and cute is the glittering combination that put actress/model Ashley Greene on the map. Alice Cullens appeal lies not so much in her sexy savagery, but possibly in the fact that she is mans only natural predator. Meanwhile, her self-control allows her, her adoptive sister Rosalie and her future sister-in-law Bella to walk among us puny mortals, which gives her that adorable but also kind of hot vampire-next-door vibe.
#7: Marcilla / Carmilla / Mircalla Karnstein
The Vampire Lovers (1970)
Although probably not as well known as many of the other vampires on this list, Carmilla is certainly the racy-est. Played by horror film queen Ingrid Pitt, the beautiful monster in this gothic flick seduces her way into innocent womens hearts and beds. Considering the amount of nudity and caresses that this Hammer horror throws at you, its no wonder this film was popular enough to receive two sequels and even a passing grade from Leonard Maltin.
#6: Draculas Bride
Bram Stokers Dracula (1992)
It should be no surprise that the actress who has so often been hailed as the sexiest woman alive should appear on this list. Voluptuous, sultry and dangerous, Draculas Bride is pretty much the perfect vampire. While Dracula actually has 3 brides, its the one played by the one and only Monica Bellucci that were singling out here. Her deadliness heightens her sex appeal, and her sex appeal is what makes her so dangerous. After all, who wouldnt want to be bitten by that? And shes no glittering, guilt-ridden, self-hating vampire either: she is a killing machine. Still, were pretty sure death by Monica Bellucci wouldnt be the worst way to go.
#5: Marie
Innocent Blood (1992)
This French vampire prefers her meat with a bit of kick to it. Wandering around the cold streets at night, Marie picks off violent criminals to easily seduce and then feast upon. When she becomes intimately involved with an undercover cop whose ultimate goal is to take down the very same family Marie happens to be feeding on, the plot thickens into a hybrid of horror-romance-action that, although it seems hard to pull off, is actually as irresistible as Marie herself.
#4: La vampire
Paris, je taime (2006)
Its Paris, youre an American tourist, youre walking in the dark by yourself and you come across a beautiful, mysterious stranger eating someone alive. What do you do? Well obviously, if this beautiful mysterious stranger looks anything like a future Bond Babe, your first instinct will be to put yourself in harms way just to get a little taste of this very hot vampiress. Its a pretty bold move, but trust us, Elijah Wood, no one is judging you.
#3: Akasha
Queen of the Damned (2002)
The beauty and terror of Anne Rices mother of all vampires is played by the already flawless Aaliyah, who portrayed the Queen as a powerful yet beautiful ancient whose very presence chills the hearts of all those around her - including her own children who cant even handle that level of carnage. Seriously, imagine being so evil that even your vampire offspring plot to kill you? Nevertheless, its her dangerousness and hypnotizing dance moves that make her so intimidating and yet so irresistible.
#2: Santanico Pandemonium
From Dusk till Dawn (1996)
Of all the different versions this vampire exotic dancer has gone through over the years, from movies to TV, the original queen of the bar far outdoes them all. We knew from the moment she stepped on stage wearing nothing but a two-piece and a snake that this curvy predator was something really special. Santanicos so hot, she even makes Quentin Tarantino speechless. Shes not exactly the most cuddly vamp on this list, but shes definitely the whole package.
#1: Selene
Underworld franchise (2003-)
Theres typically nothing hotter than a woman who can shoot, kick ass in mortal combat and drive really, really fast - all while dressed head to toe in skin-tight leather. But add vampirism to the mix, and youve suddenly got many peoples dark fantasy and our number one pick. What makes this European vamp even hotterand knocks her blond counterpart Erika off the listis that she never takes no for an answer, even if it means destroying everyone in her path. You gotta admire her deadly determination.
