Top 3 Things You Missed In The Avengers: Infinity War Trailer!
The infinity War Trailer has dropped! Years of planning, over a dozen movies, and enough post credit scenes to make a whole new film have all culminated in this moment. And there’s a lots to see! Iron-Spider Armor! 4 Armed Beasts! Thor chillin with the Guardians of the Galaxy! But there’s even more information hiding under the surface: check it out!
1) A New Character!
Keen eyed fans might have noticed that there is at least 1 brand new character in the trailer – although you’d be forgiven if you missed them. If you look closely at this character launching a spear, you can clearly see that it’s someone we haven’t met before. Fans of Thanos’ dirty deeds know that his personal henchmen are the Cull Obsidian, and one of their most prominent members is Proxima Midnight – who this new character appears to be. Let’s just check off the boxes here to be sure though: Light colored lower half of face? Check. Golden arm? Checkeroo. Horn things? Check. Blue Hair? Check. Proficiency with a spear? Double check.
Does this mean the rest of the Black Order will be making an appearance? This tweet from Louis D’Esposito makes that seem rather likely.
2) Have you got the stones?
Fans of the MCU will tell you that you’d need some pretty serious stones to take on the Avengers – Infinity Stones that is.
Thanos’ goal is to collect all 6 Infinity stones – so let’s run down the list.
We see that Thanos has most definitely acquired the Space Stone (a.k.a the Tesseract) from Loki and The Power Stone (which we saw in Guardians 1). This means that the Nova Core – who was guarding the Power Stone – is probably not doing so well. It also looks like Vision might be …kinda forced to give up his Mind Stone, and it’s a pretty good bet that Dr. Strange & company in this shot are going to have to defend the Time Stone – which is the jewel Strange’s Amulet. IMDB also tells us that Tanaleer Tivan – the Collector – is in the movie, so there’s also a good chance that Thanos pays him a visit to pick up the Reality Stone (a.k.a. the Aether) which was dropped off with the collector at the end of Thor 2.
If you’re taking notes, this means that the only one left is the yet to be seen Soul Stone – but we’d say it’s a good bet that it’ll make an appearance in 2018’s Black Panther - especially considering that our heroes seem get roped into a enormous battle in Wakanda.
3) Death Watch
Okay, so it’s pretty much guaranteed that some of the heroes will die in the movie – I mean, there are so many of em’ we can stand to lose a few, right?
It’s pretty safe to say that Vision is screwed: He’s got one of Infinity stones in the middle of his forehead – and it looks like we see him about to lose that.
We feel like it’s a safe bet to say that – knowing Infinity War will be a 2 parter – something very, very bad will happen at the end of this film. Personally my money is on Tony Stark or Captain America, because it’s got to be a character that the audience will be upset about – but who’s it gonna be?
