Top 30 Celebrity Couples That Make Us Believe in Love
VOICE OVER: Phoebe de Jeu WRITTEN BY: Tal Fox
Love isn't dead in Hollywood. Welcome to MsMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the famous power pairs that restore our faith in love. Our countdown includes Ryan Gosling & Eva Mendes, Jensen & Danneel Ackles, Ted Danson & Mary Steenburgen, and more!

#30: Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos

You know a bond is strong when a couple is happy to spend as much time together as these two do. Their love story began at Consuelos’s audition to play Ripa’s on-screen love interest, Mateo Santos, on “All My Children.” Ripa didn’t just cast him as her fictional beau; he became her lifelong partner, too. In 1996, they slipped off to get married and now share three children. Today, you can catch them co-hosting “Live with Kelly & Mark,” where they occasionally share nuggets of wisdom on maintaining a happy marriage. With decades of love and companionship behind them, their relationship is a testament to true partnership. We’ll definitely be taking notes!

#29: Jensen & Danneel Ackles

Most love stories don’t start with someone trying to set up the guy who’d become her husband with a friend, but here we are. On the “Drama Queens” podcast, Danneel revealed she initially tried to pair off her future husband with her “One Tree Hill” co-star, Sophia Bush. Luckily, Bush wasn’t interested, which allowed Danneel to find “the greatest love of [her] life.” Her former costars even reminisced about how “so [word we can’t say] cute” they were in the relationship’s early days. Their cuteness continued as they got married and became parents of three. While they usually keep their professional and personal lives separate, they do give fans a peek into their love through social media.

#28: Matthew McConaughey & Camila Alves

Like a scene straight out of a 2000s rom-com, McConaughey first saw his future wife in a club in 2006 and was instantly smitten. Alves, however, didn’t recognize him at first due to his low-key attire. After that, they were pretty much inseparable. They got married in 2012 and now have three kids. On the podcast “Your Mama’s Kitchen,” they said the key to their happy relationship is putting family first and always making time for each other. As for those difficult relationship hurdles, McConaughey joked that having a sweet treat on hand helps, while Alves suggested something a little stronger. So, next time you reach for the chocolate, just remember you’re doing it for the relationship.

#27: Ginnifer Goodwin & Josh Dallas

Move over, Snow White and Prince Charming; there’s a new fairytale romance in town! This couple met and fell in love while playing those very characters on the fantasy series “Once Upon a Time.” They got married and had their first child in 2014, and today, they’re proud parents of two. Though they mostly keep their love life out of the spotlight, they do treat us to occasional glimpses through red carpet appearances and adorable social media posts. Dallas even said the greatest gift from his “Once Upon a Time” days was the love he found. Seems like true love’s kiss really does have some powerful magic!

#26: Ryan Gosling & Eva Mendes

This is another couple that prefers to keep their personal lives away from prying eyes, but when they do talk about each other, it’s absolutely adorable! Their love story began in 2012 while filming “The Place Beyond the Pines,” which led to two kids and wedding vows. Mendes said Gosling always supported her since her decision to take an indefinite acting hiatus to care for their young family. Meanwhile, Gosling praises her for being his rock and often lovingly boasts about her endeavors. When Mendes appeared in “People’s” “Beautiful” issue, Gosling’s comments got us all melting. So, when’s the Gosling cloning starting? Their love is definitely one for the books!

#25: Jennifer Connelly & Paul Bettany

This couple met on the set of “A Beautiful Mind” in 2001 but didn’t start dating right away. He thought she was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen, and she fell for his musical talents. After the tragic events of 9/11, Bettany realized his feelings for her and popped the question before they’d even officially dated! Married since 2003, they tend to keep their personal life private but often gush about each other in interviews and occasionally share sweet glimpses into their world. Together, they’ve weathered Hollywood’s highs and lows, raising a family and maintaining a rock-solid relationship. Their love story is proof that sometimes, life’s best scripts are the ones we live.

#24: Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban

These Aussie stars first connected over 7,000 miles away from their home country at the G’Day USA gala in LA in 2005. After swapping digits, Kidman apparently waited four months for Urban to make a move. Luckily, it was worth the wait because he seemed to know exactly how to sweep her off her feet. They married in Sydney in 2006 and now share two children. Kidman supported Urban through his substance use disorder, and Urban often recognizes her efforts in helping him get through it. He describes their love as “nothing to hide and everything to protect.” They nurture their bond by regularly checking in with the life they want to create together.

#23: Steve & Nancy Carell

Steve Carell met Nancy while he was teaching improv at The Second City Training Center, where she was a student. He was instantly drawn to her but thought she wasn’t interested because she didn’t talk to him much. Turns out she was just playing coy! He shared with “The Guardian” that he knew pretty quickly she was his perfect match, and on their wedding day, he felt “an ethereal sense of how right it all was.” While he doesn’t claim there’s a magic formula for a happy relationship, he believes being able to laugh together helps. We’ve seen the couple share the screen a few times and well, you can’t fake that kind of chemistry!

#22: Samuel L. Jackson & LaTanya Richardson Jackson

When Samuel L. Jackson and LaTanya Richardson Jackson decided to commit to their relationship, they vowed that they could conquer anything as long as they faced it together. Well, August 2024 marks their 44th anniversary, so we’d say they’re probably onto something. Their engagement wasn’t exactly traditional, and they each remember it differently, but at least they made it down the aisle. LaTanya stood by Samuel through his substance use disorder, and he credits her for giving him “the chance to be the man [he] was supposed to be.” He’s also not shy about showing his love for her to the world. Their partnership and dedication have truly created a love story that’s worth celebrating.

#21: Angela Bassett & Courtney B. Vance

Although Bassett and Vance first crossed paths as Yale Drama school grad students, their love story began years later when fate brought them together again. Bassett recalls their first kiss sending fireworks through her body, signaling he was the one. They married in 1997 and welcomed twins via surrogacy in 2006. In interviews, they openly admire, support, and cheer each other on. Bassett talks about how important it is in marriage to share life goals while also respecting each other’s personal needs and aspiriations. Meanwhile, Vance emphasized the need for “humility and forgiveness.” Plus, find yourself someone willing to throw a bash like the one he threw for his wife.

#20: Melanie Lynskey & Jason Ritter

As the couple told Drew Barrymore, it wasn’t exactly love at first sight—Lynskey had to reintroduce herself to Ritter multiple times! However, both remember the moment they knew the other was “the one,” and trust us, you’ll want the tissues close by. They got engaged in 2016, though Lynskey hilariously admitted she didn’t realize she was engaged for a few days! They became parents in 2018 and have been a strong team ever since. They’re incredibly supportive of each other, both personally and professionally, making sure they both get the space to thrive while prioritizing their family. Despite facing some tough times, they’ve shown that with love and support, they can overcome anything together.

#19: Tom Holland & Zendaya

Despite trying to keep things on the downlow, there have been speculations about these two coupling up ever since they met in 2016 on the set of “Spider-Man: Homecoming”. At the time and for years, they rarely addressed the nature of their private relationship off screen and, despite many rumors, certainly never admitted to anything beyond platonic love. However, they could no longer deny it when, in 2021, paparazzi spotted them kissing. It’s probably not the way they would have liked to go public, but we were beyond excited to learn the two were more than just good friends. They’ve since continued to keep their relationship private and only share small glimpses of their love life on social media.

#18: Melissa McCarthy & Ben Falcone

Turns out, McCarthy and Falcone were near each other before they became famous. Falcone recalls spotting McCarthy from afar while she was a freshman in college and he was still in high school. They wouldn’t meet officially until 1998 when they joined the same comedy class. The two were friends first before eventually progressing to the next step. And, the rest is history - they’ve been together for decades and still have nothing but love for each other. McCarthy continues to gush about Falcone to this day, saying: “He makes me gut-laugh, like crazy gut-laugh, four or five times a day. I hit the jackpot!" Cue the swooning.

#17:Sarah Paulson & Holland Taylor

Imagine finding the love of your life on Twitter. That’s what happened to Holland Taylor and Sarah Paulson… sort of. While the two had seen each other in the Hollywood scene before, it wasn’t until they worked together on a charity initiative that things started to progress. They began following each other on Twitter, and soon likes turned to messages. Their 32-year age difference is sometimes subjected to raised eyebrows, but they pay no mind to it. Paulson has been outspoken about ageist remarks and added that people should look past the thinking that being old means you have no romantic or intimate desires. As far as classy couples go, these two are hard to beat!

#16: David Beckham & Victoria Beckham

These two had their ‘love at first sight’ moment in the Manchester United players' lounge back in 1997. By their own accounts, they became instantly smitten for each other and got engaged just a year after they met. Since then, more than two decades have passed and they’re still going strong! Sometimes, it’s not about how long you’ve known someone but about how they make you feel when you’re with them! The couple’s children have become icons of their own, too, and no doubt will continue to leave their mark on the world. That Beckham legacy is solid as a rock!

#15: Ted Danson & Mary Steenburgen

This couple sparked their romance in 1993 while filming “Pontiac Moon” and tied the knot in 1995. Whenever they talk about their relationship, you just know they’re in “The Good Place.” Cupid’s arrow hit bullseye with these two. They can’t stop gushing about each other, with Steenburgen once saying, “I would literally sign up for 100 more lifetimes with him.” They show their love through sweet words and acts of service, making it clear they want each other to feel the most loved every single day. Indeed, now in their third decade of marriage, the spark still burns very bright. If that’s not relationship goals, then we don’t know what it is.

#14: Tim McGraw & Faith Hill

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's love story begins in 1994 when they first met in Nashville. However, back then, McGraw was in a relationship with Kristine Donahue while Hill was about to be wed to Scott Hendricks. When McGraw and Hill reconnected two years later, they left their previous relationships to pursue this new love. Life is rarely as prim and neat as we would like it to be but, sometimes, the mess is worth it. McGraw proposed to Hill while they were touring together in 1996, and they got married a few months after. Their support for each other is clearly unwavering as the couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in 2021. McGraw has also credited Hill for her role in his sobriety journey.

#13: Megan Mullally & Nick Offerman

Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally met in 2000 while starring in the play "The Berlin Circle," but their romance didn't start until after previews. They got engaged in London in 2002 and surprised their guests with an unannounced wedding at their Los Angeles home in September of 2003 – the night before the Emmys, no less. The two value communication and spending time together; they have a rule in their relationship when it comes to taking jobs. If an offer will require them to be apart for over two weeks, it’s something the couple will discuss together. Healthy communication for the win! They’ve also said that being able to make your partner laugh is key, which is a pretty fitting statement for the two comedians.

#12: Elton John & David Furnish

Elton John and David Furnish have been together for almost 30 years, ever since meeting at a dinner party back in 1993. They went on their first date just a day after and quickly fell in love. In 2005, they entered a civil partnership and, in 2014, after same-sex marriage was legalized in the UK, they officially tied the knot. Both John and Furnish state that the key to a happy marriage is constant communication. They also revealed that they write out a message of love to each other every week, and have done so since the very beginning! Now, that’s cute.

#11: Michelle & Barack Obama

Michelle and Barack Obama first crossed paths at a law firm in Chicago back in 1989. Michelle was actually Barack's mentor at the time and was not entirely keen to take him up on his date offer. But, she gave him a chance in the end, and it worked out for the best. Fast forward to 1992, the Obamas were hitched. Like any couple, they've had their fair share of highs and lows, and presidency was sure to bring a whole other kind of whirlwind. The couple worked diligently to navigate challenging times and they came out of it for the better. Michelle Obama has also offered marriage advice for precisely those challenging times, saying “you’ve got to know the feelings will be intense. But that doesn’t mean you quit.”

#10: Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard first met at a party hosted by a mutual friend in 2007, and Bell has been quoted saying “there were no sparks whatsoever” when they first met. Though that clearly changed quickly, surprisingly, there was lots to navigate through before the couple really settled into a relationship. Eventually, the two committed to one another and, by 2009, they were engaged, though they wouldn’t get married until 2013. Along with sharing hilarious videos of each other, Bell and Shepard are very candid about their relationship lows. They revealed they were both attending therapy in order to better communicate with each other when times get hard. Despite all the obstacles they’ve faced, they remain there for each other even the hardest times. Relationship goals!

#9: Neil Patrick Harris & David Burtka

These two went on their first date in 2004 and ended up revealing their relationship to the public three years later. Unfortunately, gay marriage wasn't yet legal and they had to wait all the way until 2014 to tie the knot. They now have an adorable family and have shown they are in it for the long run. Still, no marriage is complete without its downs. Burtka and Harris were open and honest about the fact that marriage is work, and said open communication is imperative. They also acknowledge the importance of attending therapy as a couple to work through their issues.

#8: Denzel & Pauletta Washington

Denzel and Pauletta Washington are among some of the longest-lasting Hollywood couples. They’ve been together for over 40 years but, make no mistake, those 40 years have not all been smooth sailing. Pauletta actually turned down Denzel’s proposal twice before finally accepting it the third time. The Washingtons often share insight into what makes their marriage work, with Denzel crediting Pauletta for being the number one reason for it. They also cite the importance of perseverance and commitment. Lesson learned - although it may not be the right time to get married, it doesn’t mean it’s not a right time to be together.

#7: Sarah Michelle Gellar & Freddie Prinze Jr.

Now here’s a Hollywood IT couple if we’ve ever seen one. These two have been going strong since they started dating in 2000, and that might be because they were friends for three years before anything romantic happened. They tied the knot in 2002 despite both of them admitting they didn’t believe in marriage. Prinze ended up taking a chance and Gellar said yes. Two children and a lot of happy moments later, their relationship is on solid ground. Gellar stated that mindfulness and staying present in the moment you share with your loved ones is important when it comes to both marriage and family life.

#6: Michael J. Fox & Tracy Pollan

These two lovebirds met on the set of “Family Ties” in 1985, where they actually played each other’s love interests. However, they were both in relationships at the time and didn’t really form any romantic feelings until “Bright Lights, Big City”, the second project on which they had the opportunity to work together. Just over half a year later in 1988, they were married and have had four kids since. Celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary, it’s probably safe to say the two have a strong bond with love that could conquer just about anything. When it comes to advice for romantic relationships, Pollan said:” "Just give each other the benefit of the doubt ... He assumes I'm doing the best I can."

#5:Goldie Hawn & Kurt Russell

Now these two have never married, but they’ve been together for about four decades. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell met on set of the 1968 movie “The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band.” But, it wasn’t love at first sight as Hawn was five years older than Russell. In fact, it took them a decade and a half before they went on their first date – and, we have to say, we’re glad they waited. The Hawn-Russell legacy remains one of the strongest in Hollywood. They addressed their decision to not marry as simply stating that they don’t see the need when their relationship is so strong.

#4: Kevin Bacon & Kyra Sedgwick

Kyra Sedgwick was 12 years old when she saw Kevin Bacon at a play and told him that she liked his acting. A decade later, the two worked together on 1988’s "Lemon Sky." They quickly began dating and got married that year, which means they've been together for over three whole decades. As of 2023, the pair has two children together and continue to maintain a loving marriage. When asked about partnership advice, Sedgwick joked that successful marriages don't take marriage advice from celebrities, and admitted that she thinks she and Bacon had luck on their side.

#3: Rita Wilson & Tom Hanks

Now here's one of perhaps the longest-married couples in Hollywood. They officially met in 1981 when they were costars in "Bosom Buddies." However, Hanks was already married at the time. Still, it was clear there was something brewing between them when they announced their relationship five years later and the two eventually tied the knot in 1988. The pair has two children, while Hanks also has two kids from his previous marriage. These two lovebirds have supported each other through some of the hardest times, including Wilson's breast cancer. They truly continue to inspire everyone with their strength and love.

#2: Emily Blunt & John Krasinski

We’ve seen your comments about these two being the epitome of love and commitment. Krasinski revealed that he knew Blunt was the one from the moment they met. Things moved pretty fast - they were engaged just a year after their first date. They got married in 2010 and have pretty much successfully defeated all odds against them. Not only do they have an adorable and loving family, their relationship is also full of silly and goofy moments. It’s no wonder that even their first movie together was a total success. Let’s be honest, we just can’t get enough of these two.

#1: Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds

Speaking of silly and goofy relationships, it doesn’t get any better than Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. We’ve all seen their back-and-forth comments on social media, and that alone is enough to make us believe love truly does exist. These two met in 2010 on the set of “Green Lantern,” and became friends. A year later while trying to wingman for each other they realized they wanted to be more. What can we say, you can’t help who you fall for! They got married in 2012 and created an absolutely adorable family that keeps on growing, just like their love. When is it our turn?!
