Script written by Spencer Sher

You know him as Billy on Stranger Things but you should take note of Dacre Montgomery's name because he's about to become the next big star. First thing to know is of course that he plays Billy on Stranger Things. Season two of Netflix's critically acclaimed sci-fi horror series “Stranger Things” dropped on October 27th, 2017 and it's replete with a host of new faces; one of which is Australian actor Dacre Montgomery. He's silly and not to mention easy on the eyes. He sent the tape to “Stranger Things” show runners Matt and Ross Duffer and apparently they dug it and decided to cast him as Billy. Cleary Montgomery doesn't mind looking foolish on camera!. However, he's not just a pretty face! Instead of simply accepting the psychotic jerk that Billy was on paper, Montgomery suggested that his character have a scene that helps explain why he's such a dick all the time. His influence led to the scene in which Billy's father both verbally berates and physically abuses him being included in episode eight.

Season two of Netflix’s critically acclaimed sci-fi horror series “Stranger Things” dropped on October 27th, 2017 and it’s replete with a host of new faces; one of which is Australian actor Dacre Montgomery. He plays Billy, the new kid in town whose younger sister befriends Mike and the gang. Montgomery took inspiration from Jack Nicolson’s performance in “The Shining” when developing his character; a character who sports a mullet that the 80’s would be proud of. And while Montgomery’s hair in the show is actually a wig, he still manages to pull it off.

One thing you’ll quickly notice about Dacre Montgomery is that he’s got the rugged good looks of a Hollywood leading man. His strong jawline and piercing gaze make it easy to see why he was cast as “Stranger Things” newest antagonist. Want to know how he scored the juicy role? According to him he stripped down to a G-string and a leather jacket and danced around to 80’s music while his friends recorded it. He sent the tape to “Stranger Things” show runners Matt and Ross Duffer and apparently they dug it and decided to cast him as Billy. Cleary Montgomery doesn’t mind looking foolish on camera!

Yet another reason for why you should be paying attention to Dacre Montgomery is this music video, which demonstrates his skills as an actor and hammers home our previous observation that he’s a total dreamboat. The video in question belongs to Australian folk and indie pop group Angus & Julia Stone and features their song “Chateau”. In it Montgomery rocks a sweet jean jacket and cruises around in a stolen vintage car. As if this guy needed further proof that he’s the bee’s knees! Oh and did we mention that he dances in the video? Montgomery is the whole package.

If you thought Montgomery looked familiar while watching season two of “Stranger Things” it’s probably because he starred in the 2017 spring blockbuster “Power Rangers”. Montgomery played Jason Scott, aka the Red Ranger. The film was a reboot of the popular 1990’s TV series “Might Morphin Power Rangers” and featured a number of the show’s characters. Ironically enough Montgomery never watched the show when he was growing up, claiming that his mom didn’t let him watch TV until he was five. She sounds like a smart woman!

Far from a one trick pony, Montgomery took a hands-on approach to his character’s backstory in season two of “Stranger Things”. Instead of simply accepting the psychotic jerk that Billy was on paper, Montgomery suggested that his character have a scene that helps explain why he’s such a dick all the time. His influence led to the scene in which Billy’s father both verbally berates and physically abuses him being included in episode eight. Ironically enough, Montgomery claims that that scene in particular was the one that his fans responded to the most! Sounds like he knew the character better than the creators!
