#1: It Was One of the Most Successful Amazon Pilots Ever
Despite having a bonafide star in creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, Amazon was taking a bit of risk with “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”. Lead actress Rachel Brosnahan had never headlined a major TV show, and Sherman-Palladino’s post “Gilmore Girls” work had failed to find a major audience. So it came as quite the surprise when “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s” pilot became one of the streaming services highest rated of all time; debuting to an almost perfect customer rating. Clearly this was enough of a positive response for Amazon, as they wasted no time ordering two seasons of the period dramedy. It would appear that we have plenty of Mrs. Maisel to look forward to!
