Top 5 Things You Should Know About Noah Centineo
#5: He Was in the Video for “Havana”
One of the biggest songs of 2017 (and 2018!) was Camila Cabello’s “Havana”. Everyone had it stuck in their head for months, but did you know that before he was stealing hearts as a Netflix love interest, Noah Centineo actually played an important role in the video? He was virtually unknown when he was cast, and as it turns out he was already a huge fan of the song. He told Vulture that when his manager revealed what song the video was for, he said, “Dude you don’t even know. My sister just showed me this song like a week ago, I love this song, I am in 100 percent.”
#4: He and Lana Condor Weren’t Fast Friends
We all came to know and love Noah Centineo because of his role in 2018’s “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before”, and the adorable friendship between him and his costar Lana Condor has been well-documented. One quick look at Lana’s Instagram is enough to show you how close these two have gotten. But when they first met, Condor actually shut down Noah’s attempt to befriend her. When they were both auditioning for the film, he asked her to read lines with him, and she politely declined. Thanks goodness they managed to get past that awkward first impression!
#3: Social Media Isn’t His Thing
When “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” was released, Centineo gained millions of followers on Instagram in a matter of weeks. At the time of writing he has 8.5 million followers, but he isn’t a huge fan of social media. Instead, he advocates for people to take the opportunity to consciously spend some time away from their phones each day, a practice he calls “therapeutic”. In an interview with W however, he acknowledged that with the influence he now has, he wants to take advantage of his growing online platform to make positive changes and “fight social injustices”.
#2: He Loves Rom Coms
Considering he is building his brand on being a romantic comedy superstar, it definitely helps his case that he’s actually a big fan of the genre. When asked by Vogue what his favorite movies were, he listed 13 Going on 30, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, You’ve got Mail, Serendipity and Failure To Launch. Finding a guy who will watch romance movies with you is hard enough, but finding a rom com fan who also happens to look like this? It’s unprecedented. Sign us up for a movie night with Noah ASAP!
