Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Is Coming To PC

Sky Pirates And Bunny Ladies Aplenty

While both its spiritual predecessors and successors have arguably garnered more of a following, over the years this excessively lore-filled tale or conflict and adventure has still managed to amass a dedicate legion of fans. We’re pretty sure half of it is due to its seamless battle system, and the other because of Balthier’s undeniable swagger.

As two empires clash, a young man named Vaan finds his dream of becoming a sky pirate taking a sharp turn as he finds himself embroiled in a world of monsters, political corruption and the quest to return a battle-hardened princess to power. It has pretty much all the ingredients you could want from a classic Final Fantasy outing, all the while combined with some very welcome changes when it comes to the technical side of things.

Now it seems that PC users will get to revisit this underrated entry in the franchise, as according to an article on Gamespot, the remastered version will be arriving on Steam sooner than expected.

Square Enix is bringing another Final Fantasy game to PC this year. The publisher has announced that Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, the recent PS4 remaster of the classic PS2 title, will be released on the platform via Steam early next month, on February 1.

Along with the same improvements and content found in the PS4 release, the Steam version of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will include some new features tailored for PC. The game will run at 60 FPS and is compatible with 21:9 ultra-wide monitors. Additionally, the New Game Plus and New Game Minus modes will be available right from the start, and Square Enix has added “new functionality to grant players max License Points and Gil from the configuration screen.”
