The latest Star Wars spin-off is closing in fast, with a release date of May 25th. When it finally drops out of hyperspace, it will bring back a beloved character for his earliest adventure, one that promises to change him from an idealist to the galaxy’s most beloved scoundrel.
Trailer Not Trash
While “Solo: A Star Wars” story was late in revealing any of its materials, as it didn’t want to steal any thunder from “The Last Jedi,” the marketing machine is revving up now!
This means that we now have the first full trailer, following a more than 2 month gap since the teaser broke the ice!
From the vibe of this trailer, it is aiming to put whispers of any behind-the-scenes drama, shakeups and production woes to rest. Like “Rogue One,” there is a glimmer here, of possibly defying its low, early expectations, in a big way.
From what’s shown , it’s looking like it will be a fun romp that manages to expand our knowledge of a galaxy far, far away.
This includes showcasing the construction of a Star Destroyer, Lando’s droid companion, a new type of storm trooper, how Han got his iconic blaster, and even some AT-ST battlefield warfare!

More interestingly, Chewie may be the real star and heart of this film! The trailer focuses on the lovable fur-covered sidekick, by not only showcasing him in peril, but hammer-dropping a foe on his head, and lovingly embracing another Wookie! Chewie also is revealed to have way more parsecs on him than we thought. The lack of any grey fur on him in “The Force Awakens” makes a lot more sense now: buddy is 190 years old, as of several years before “A New Hope”!
