“F*ck Batman” – Dick Grayson
The first trailer for DC Universe’s live-action Teen Titans adaptation has finally dropped, and it’s putting its dark, gritty tone on front-street.
Remember the Titans
Providing what is basically the complete opposite of the popular-yet-derided “Teen Titans Go,” the trailer gave us a far bloodier picture of the Titans, as well as our first glimpses of Robin (Brenton Thwaites), Raven (Teagan Croft), Beast Boy (Ryan Potter), and Starfire (Anna Diop) in action.
We also got a quick peek at Hawk (Alan Ritchson) and Dove (Minka Kelly) who appear to be pretty big departures from their comic book counterparts.
The series is also set to feature Curran Walters as Jason Todd and Conor Leslie as Wonder Girl, but we wouldn’t be surprised if even more costumed heroes were announced in the coming months leading up to the series premiere.
Welcome to the DC Universe
The series will drop this Fall as part of DC and Warner Bros. new streaming service DC Universe, an ambitious new subscription service that will provide an archive of animated and live-action shows and movies based on DC characters, as well as new projects like Titans, and a planned Doom Patrol adaptation.
What do you think of the new Titans trailer? Is the tone a bit too dark to be a Teen Titans show, or are you looking forward to the new direction?
